Works for me. Just making sure I wasn't missing anything huge.:)FireCat,
Regarding your recent post:
The only reason why I posted the particular road directions for this motel is that it´s actually the only web site for a Lincoln/North Woodstock motel which I have seen as yet which actually advises travellers coming from southern Vermont to use Rt 112 between Woodsville and the Lincoln area.
There may well be other web sites advising the same route directions, but if so I haven´t come across them this far.
In due course I hope to check out all available web sites for the motels in the Lincoln/North Woodstock area.
If I find anything interesting as for their road directions, I will make sure to post it here.
Whiston,
Thanks for your efforts!

Judged: 1 1 1 why didn't ya just stop at the Nootka Lodge Motel, in Woodsville...Winter rates start around $60... Why didn't you stop ...get a room...read a map....drink a Mudslide...and regroup....growl. (talking to her like I would to my daughter) It was right there at the junction of 302/10......I have tried to think of her getting off 91 at x16 Bradford..instead of x17 Ryegate/WellsRiver.....(but, the timing seems off) When I am up there I drive those roads Orford, Piermont, Bradford, Newbury, Wells River etc... I know the timing from "here to there" Not measured in miles...but, in time. ie 20 mins. to there....30 minutes etc. The driving time 4ish to 7ish fits, even by my own driving. Was going to express my thoughts to the FIT....but, it no longer fits. Forum Investigating Team...would have to start with "T" for Topix......I think not......;-/ (I'm old enough to be bad..one of my favorite things) Yes Anne ..I tried to Post this...don't think I said anything bad..... |

Judged: 1 1 1 Just a question for you before saying goodbye for tonight: Would you consider it "normal" NH behaviour (if such a concept exists?...) to act (or perhaps rather not to act) as Mr & Mrs W in their house at the Weathered Barn Curve in Swiftwater. A car comes off the road practically a few steps across from their house and they are not curious enough to walk those few steps to make sure that the driver of the car is all right. Yes, I know that they did call LE/EMS, but even so... If they had only gone out to check, then perhaps Maura would not have vanished and there would at least be some kind of confirmation of the SBD´s wavering witness testimony as for the driver of the Saturn. If only, if only, just like the motel you mentioned in Woodsville.... |
Judged: 1 but, I didn't know her well enough .....I keep my boots by the back door...I would have been out there...coat over nightgown...(and have, in the past, joining my neighbors) Up there, is a tendency to not get involved...a tendency....like Beth wrote "not from my front porch"....It is kind of like "it's none of my business"...I remember Posters saying how they would have run out with blankets.. I wondered why someone from the other 3 houses didn't at least come outside. I do recall something that RO said... NOT the exact words... it wasn't a neighborhood like you'd borrow a cup of sugar. The owners of the store didn't want to be involved at all. Guess I haven't been very helpful. I am sure that someone who lives in Woodsville area would know better than I. Anne, cyber police..? would they help SP finding Maura ? etc...kidding...maybe..... |

Judged: 3 3 2 The more I think about it, the more I think she planned her "getaway".......... but yet another thought that came up on the forum but was never answered......a log cabin burned pretty severely a couple of years ago about 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile east of the Weathered Barn. Was it ever searched for any "evidence"? |

Excellent questions -- why wouldn't she? Especially if she had tried her cellphone and realized she couldn't get a signal there. |

Judged: 1 1 1 Why was there a BOLO for a female with black hair 5'2" or 5'3" put out and not one for a female with brown hair 5'7"? Why was this BOLO only sent to local fire and to no one else? Maybe the female described as being petite with black hair in the BOLO was not Maura and maybe she was at the crash site. Maybe the person(s) responsible for Maura's dissapearance were a man and woman. |

Judged: 2 2 1 What pleasure do you derive from inserting the above opinions in your posts? Do you think they will elicit answers? What would be the reason behind such cruel remarks re Maura, Fred, Helena, family and friends? It would appear to indicate some underlying agenda. Helena posted to you on MMM.com , "Whiston, there are no secrets, only unknowns." Please discontinue putting words in mrMurray's mouth that are taken out of context. Thank you. |

Judged: 3 1 1 Online briefly here, I wanted to ask if might be true that Fred, some family, and investigators do know what happened, where it happened (town, the house, the residents), and have only been able to release small amounts of evidence to the public so as not to mess up the investigation? That would make Maura's life and behavior before 2/9/04 irrelevant if it was a crime of opportunity and the criminals known --- but no air-tight case yet. First time I realized that could explain all the strange behavior surrounding Maura's case... the family wanting to keep her name out there, but showing frustration with all the wrong directions we take. It's true, as whiston said, that that would make many of us feel like fools, having been thinking and working seriously on ideas for years... for nothing! Except keeping Maura's name out there. I haven't figured out yet if keeping Maura's name alive is important in itself, or if I'd feel duped... if ALL is known, but the case isn't strong enough for court. |

quija & all,
Anything is certainly possible, but as a journalist I find it somewhat difficult to believe that the Murray family and/or NH LE would not at least give some kind of hint of the case being solved with the exception of some judicial snags, should this actually be the case. Mr Murray´s as yet unsuccessful fight for the release of NH LE documents pertaining to the case would probably indicate that at least Maura´s family has rather little knowledge of the handling of the case by LE. Just my personal opinion, of course. |
Quija, I think that that's a possibility, and we would not necessarily know about it, in order to preserve and protect the case.
Looking4moose, there's a Grafton Sheriff who lives at the Weathered Barn-Bradley Hill area???!!! Euro - as far as going out to check on an accident. I live on a dirt road, often silly kids driving too fast will end up in a ditch. Do I go out to check? It depends. If it sounds serious (impact or something)- yes, absolutely. If it's sliding off the road, and doesn't sound serious, I don't always go out to check, because there's a fair amount of crime here. But if I could see a car go off the road - as obviously those in that area could - I would definitely go out to see if I could help or that everyone was OK. I probably would not call the police before checking on the vehicle. If someone has just slid off the road and can get back on, or they need to be towed, it wouldn't make sense to call EMS/LE before I checked. |

Public Forum? BTW: what's your isp location? Quija, I definately agree with you on this on. But, why would the claim of searching continue? |

Yes, the corner house of Swiftwater Circle and 112. In the winter, the house is in pretty clear view of 112. During the summer its cincealed by leafy trees and brush. |
