That’s a very good question but the answer is pretty obvious. I certainly know that I would never let my mother live in an area as unsafe as that. Never, NEVER. I would come armed if I needed, to get her out.

I call bullshit on Shack and Half moon. If you need to look up what that means than do so.

I'm not one to spread rumors, they can be dangerous. But, you brought up the mention of Maura Murray. There are several rumors running rampant in the north country involving several men and a certain woman/girl. Maybe ask your good friend Matt what his sister was doing that fateful night. One rumor, you pass it off as talk but when you start hearing several rumors with several different rumors from multiple peopl. The rumors have slight variations but the players have all the been the same. It is enough to make a doubter wonder.
Sam Colt, May I ask if this Matt is related to a J.J.?

Helena, if you are reading. Do you remember a certain PM regarding a picture?

This individual should call the nearest State Police barracks or their
local police department. The law enforcement agency contacted will send
a Trooper/Officer to them and investigate/retrieve the item. They
should not handle or touch the evidence in any way.

** Am I the only person not getting this?
Why wouldn't Fred call the NHSP to retreive
it from the guy?
Am the only one who feel an obstruction of justice here?

I don't remember as to what there reasoning was for not accepting it. will find out.

I don't understand why the quotes from the award-winning and accepted-by-everyone Hanson Express Series, posted by Ben Franklyn, are now being regarded as possibly true, possibly not!

It's starting to look like the new way of dealing with the "new-timers" here is to "Just Say No" to anything that's been written by Gary Lindsley (who I heard really was well informed), the Express Series, Journal Opinion for sure, the Union Leader, accident reports, Sheriff's logs, and all press releases by NH LE too. I feel like the slate has been wiped clean except for the persistence of several posters who are trying to nail down times and places from primary or else reliable sources. I don't know what's a fact anymore.

The way things sound here, it is almost like what harry said in terms of Maura not even existing before she disappeared, if the public can't get a handle on the simplest of documented facts. Were all the documents adjusted after the fact? Who fed us information? WE NEED WEEPER TO POST AND REAFFIRM SOME OF THE MOST BASIC FACTS IN TERMS OF THE ATM, THE LIQUOR STORE, ETC. Please!

If she had a local boyfriend that would be a really key issue --- it always seems to be so in a missing person's case... Why has there been not a word when Maura, a neat freak, had a dorm room that would be hard to imagine using?

And harry, you have researched some incredible connections, but (speaking for myself) I'm having trouble putting them together. The red truck/pro life place isn't connected to the Governor? The pro life isn't connected to the water sources? The steroids are not connected to either? The chop shop (crush shop - Jet Star? in Haverhill -- isn't connected to any of this? Is the art theft angle separate? With all the connections you've found, can you tell us which of all possibilities strikes you as most likely? and can you explain it for us (the masses) in words of one syllable?(haha) P.S. Were those speed bumps (near the Vasi accident) there in 2004, I wonder?

I understand your concerns about the chain of evidence, White Wash. First of all, it hasn't been mentioned anywhere that I know of, what the specific circumstances of the knife transfer were (was it in a bag etc) Admittedly a knife evidence might not be able to be used in court, but it's not a "fruit of the poisoned tree" issue at all.
First of all, Fred DID contact the state police when he came into possession of potential evidence. They wanted nothing to do with it. That's the only reason he had to mail it. Do you know for certain the reason NHSP would not accept the knife when Fred brought it?
Secondly, even if the knife's chain of evidence couldn't be maintained all the way back to its origin (and my recollection is that the chain of evidence is only in effect ONCE IT HAS BEEN STARTED, meaning once it's been bagged and tagged as evidence) the primary goal is not to secure a conviction for a crime. Yes, that's a goal, if there was a crime, but the primary goal was, and remains, TO FIND MAURA. If something had the potential to lead to Maura's whereabouts, WHY DIDN'T THE POLICE ACCEPT IT?
Chain of evidence procedures don't answer that question sufficiently.

White Wash, do you know for a fact that there was DNA testing done on the airbag(s) of the Saturn, and that Maura's DNA was found?

Last week the Nickersons and their fellow Buckramites motored up to Dutchess County for the first big chase of the season: a joint meet of the Buckram Beagles and the Redington Foot Beagles owned by John K. Cowperthwaite of Far Hills, N. J. Prey of the week-end was not the mere jackrabbit or the lowly cottontail, but the rare European hare (giant of the rabbit family),† which has been known to run twelve miles in one direction before turning to circle home. In the three years that the two packs have hunted this region, bound they like bandersnatches, not one of these exasperating hares had been caught. On the first day of last week's meet, however, there was a kill—only 35 minutes after the hare had been "viewed away." First of the spectator field in at the kill was Mrs. Hoffman Nickerson, who was awarded the cherished mask (hare's head). Although the subsequent hunts led to no more kills, at the hunt breakfast in Millbrook's Red Pheasant Inn, the Buckram and Reddington followers agreed it had been a red-letter meet.

"The chase is everything - it's very visceral, very exciting, spine-tingling." she said. "That's 90 percent of the thrill, but you spend a lot more time working with your beagles, so you'd better really like being around them."

Some days, the hounds will get right on a rabbit and scream. Other hunts, they just can't seem to pick up a scent and stay on it.

That was the problem on this particular Sunday morning. After nearly two hours, Barrett decided they weren't going to find a rabbit and called it a day.

Was she disappointed? Sure. A hunt is always more fun when there's a rabbit to chase.

The new information provided by DeRosa also includes three transactions that involve Rowland, Tomasso and Key Air, sources say:In 1999, DeRosa told investigators, he was given an attache case containing $8,000 in cash in a state Capitol parking lot by Ellef, then Rowland's co-chief of staff. The money was supposed to cover costs DeRosa incurred in purchasing and restoring a 1967 Ford Mustang as a 42nd birthday present for Rowland, the federal authorities were told.

According to the sources, DeRosa said he encountered Tomasso some time after receiving the attache case. During the encounter, DeRosa said, Tomasso acknowledged providing the money and said more was available if DeRosa needed it.

The report of a cash payment to DeRosa was another twist in the convoluted Mustang story.

The car was initially described as a gift from Rowland's friends, who supposedly contributed to a fund headed by then-Lt. Gov. M. Jodi Rell, now Rowland's successor.

In 2003, however, Rowland told reporters he bought the car for himself after determining that accepting it as a gift would be improper. He said he took out a loan and paid DeRosa $22,000 for the car in two checks. But Rowland did not write those checks until more than four months after DeRosa had registered the vehicle with the Department of Motor Vehicles. When he registered the vehicle, DeRosa claimed Rowland had paid him an $8,000 deposit. Rowland wrote the checks - for $8,000 and $14,000 - to DeRosa on Oct. 30, 1999.

And Rell told state ethics officials she had no recollection of raising money for the Mustang.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shelby_Mustang

"The new 1967 Mustang was followed with a new Shelby. It featured a 1967 Mercury Cougar tail light panel minus the chrome trim, a flip-up spoiler, and two sets of air scoops on each side. This was also the first American car to feature a factory roll bar. The GT350 still featured a 289 Cubic-Inch V8.

"This year also saw the introduction of the GT500 alongside the continued GT350. The new GT500 featured a 428-CID (7 L) big-block V8. This is also one of the most famous Shelby Cobras.

"A convertible prototype of the GT500 was made in 1967, which was designated to be scrapped. Before Ford Motor Co. could destroy the prototype, it was stolen. The car was eventually recovered by Ford and sold as '68 with the marque Shelby Mustang."

Remember Lyle Alzado?

BELOW FROM
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lyle_Alzado

Alzado is probably most remembered today for being one of the first major U.S. sports figures to admit using steroids. In the last years of his life, as he battled against the brain tumor that eventually caused his death at the age of 43, Alzado asserted that his steroid abuse directly led to his fatal illness, but his physician stated it could not possibly be true. According to some reports, Alzado was using natural growth hormone,

harvested from human corpses,

as opposed to synthetic growth hormones. However, shortly before his death, Alzado recounted his steroid abuse in an article in Sports Illustrated. He said:

“ I started taking anabolic steroids in 1969
[in Yankton, SD]
and never stopped. It was addicting, mentally addicting. Now I'm sick, and I'm scared. Ninety percent of the athletes I know are on the stuff. We're not born to be 300 lbs or jump 30 ft. But all the time I was taking steroids, I knew they were making me play better. I became very violent on the field and off it. I did things only crazy people do.

Once a guy sideswiped my car

and I beat the hell out of him. Now look at me. My hair's gone, I wobble when I walk and have to hold on to someone for support, and I have trouble remembering things. My last wish? That no one else ever dies this way.
