Philip, as you know, I've been through lots and lots of years of nursing school....when I wa sin my second semester of clinicals I was diagnosed with strep throat, bronchospams and acute asthma. Even with a physicians note, I was only able to take 2 clinical days off (basically until the antibiotics kicked in and I was no longer infectious to others). When my father passed away several years ago (May 2004) I was also in nursing school doing graduate work.....I was still expected to take my final exams 2 days following his passing. In clinicals, its next to impossible to make up the time because it typically involves a nursing professor being at the site with you overseeing your work--and no nursing professor I know wants to be cramming in all the make up days for everyone in the class.

Just noticed that today we have completed 500 pages of posts AND Whiston posted the 10,000 message.

The numbers are speaking to us. The 5 signifies infinity while the 10 signifies creation.

The Navaho have a saying that I believe is apropos.

Beauty before me.
Beauty behind me.
Beauty all around me.

Hmmm. Y'know, Maura could have fairly easily led her family and Billy to believe she was still at school via phone calls since she could be anywhere when talking on her cell and no one the wiser. But her friends at school are another matter -- apparently she didn't tell them that she had a death in the family, apparently she didn't tell them *anything*. This means that she was leaving her friends at school to simply worry about her and wonder where she was.

If I'd just "disappeared" from college, my friends would have been fairly frantic I think -- they would have thought something happened to me. If they thought to ask anyone at her job/s and heard the story about a death in the family, I think my friends would have been very hurt that I had not at least let them know also.

Advocator, I agree..I have often wondered how
in depth the friends were interviewed. Also,
were they interviewed all together or....
I don't even recall when it was...how long after
Maura's disappearance. In fact, was it SP or FBI?

RE Whiston's question:

"Someone posted that a death in the family is the only way to miss anything in nursing school.Has anyone here ever bailed on school. I am wondering what the process is. Does the school give you some kind of consent form for your teachers so grades are not affected and you can make up the work. Was this ever started. There's another aspect to your question that deserves consideration; namely, the deadlines for adding and dropping classes and the deadlines for obtaining tuition refunds. I don't know what they were, but I think most schools have a two-week deadline.

I think 2 weeks of the spring semester had been completed and her email to her professors, assuming she sent it, informed them that she was taking the third week off. Since it would have been nearly impossible to make-up that missed week of clinical experience, I'm wondering if she would have been better off to have applied to withdraw for that semester? I am not aware of any evidence that she did.

Assuming she had returned the following weekend, could she still have withdrawn without failing her courses? Could she have obtained a full tuition refund?

Anyone know how Maura was paying for school? Scholarship? If so, full or partial? Student loan? Family contribution?

If she missed the deadline to withdraw and get money back from the school, she must have intended to return and complete the semester no matter how difficult or unrealistic that might have been.

The other possibility is ominous and disturbing for several reasons.

1. An obsessive and compulsive "neat-freak" high achiever isn't likely to have been unaware of the virtual impossibility of making-up clinical time, no matter the excuse,

2. An obsessive and compulsive "neat-freak" high achiever isn't likely to have been unaware of the deadlines to withdraw and get tuition refunded.

CONCLUSION: Maura did not send those emails to her professors, or if she did, she did not send them voluntarily and did not leave school voluntarily, or she was in outer space somewhere and the deadlines to get refunds or the practicality of taking a week off never dawned on her, or if they did, she didn't care.

Perhaps the school books in the Saturn were placed there for show, a mere prop in a scheme to make it appear that she intended to return to school buying her time to get far away before anyone starting looking for her.

Then again, maybe someone used that time to kill her and get rid of her body.

Does anyone know Maura's time of birth and birthplace? I can produce an in-depth psychological profile of her with that information and we won't need to pester the family for answers.

Yes, I'm serious.

Since I do not believe in coincidences, as is implicit in my message above about the significance of today and the Navajo prayer, I should add that 3 other significant events occurred for a total of 5. Here they are:

1. Whiston posts message #10,000 on this site;

2. We reach page 500 on this site;

3. Eurobserver mentions out of the blue the astrological analysis that he posted long ago to the effect that Maura and her lover staged her death so that they could get away and begin a new life;

4. Beagle Bart returns to the thread as Beagle after a long absence; and

5. Benji posts a dark and disturbing message suggesting that Maura was a victim of sexual slavery.

We have seen synchronicity at work today. The universe has delivered a message to us.

What does this message mean?

Hey Scooter,
I looked at the photo and I think White Wash is talking about the handle on the bag off to the left in the photo.
I thougth it looked like the velcro closure on the handle had dark threads from the bag itself caught up in the velco. Wear and tear?
I really don't see anything significant. I could only enlarge and lighten to a point though. HOWEVER, we've had comments about how long Maura was planning on being gone - couple days to five I recall being the latest within the discussions. After seeing this pic again and knowing what she had in the car, I'm convinced she planned on being away only a couple days. And why Joseph the monkey, jewelry..the valuable possessions? My best guess is she felt her most valuable items would only be safe with her. Not in her dorm room; so she took them with her. With that said, it had to be Maura leaving Amherst. So no, I don't believe she was abducted from UMass. And I also believe it was her on her computer looking for places to stay & maps. My 2 cents while the insomnia for the night hits :>).

I don't have the info you'd need to do the chart, but just FWIW, I've had some minimal experience with natal charts that could make a believer out of me. First was my own, that I did years ago using a book I ran across, and I was stunned at the accuracy. There was no "guesswork", it was quite specific and I saw while doing the chart that no two charts would ever be the same. The second experience was doing a chart on someone close to me who was KIA in Vietnam ... although I didn't personally know all the specifics that the chart produced, I knew him well enough to feel that the information was highly accurate.

Birth time to the minute and precise location of birth are critical, IMHO.

IIRC, the UMass police or Amherst police interviewed those friends who were students at UMass with Maura. Possibly also FBI as I think they were involved on the MA side of the line. Don't know if her friends from home (Hanson) were interviewed by any LE. And all we know re what any of them had to say is what is reported in the media.

I would assume that her family is in Massachusetts, that that was where she was born.

Scooter, I agree..just a few days off to think...
we all know that we have those days/times...with her telling Dad that she'd call Monday night. I have never thought for a minute that any item in her car was staged for anything...very simple...books,jewelry, Joseph..directions North, to her "happy place"...nothing mysterious....perhaps she was planning to come back Wednesday...? or Tuesday or Thursday...?

I keep repeating Anne.."somebody knows" (and they
are not talking) cuz they are ...can't say what I
want to say..or Elsewhere will report abuse...

Wowzer! Hey, don't shut the computer down!!!! I'm not testy --- I'm female and lack testiness!!!!(This is another sorta-joke.) I was partly posting what I heard was true about "ears", but I do understand what you were saying -- her cheeks and dimples are unique (and lovely too).(The "documentation" sentence was a lead-in to a little, tiny, pun.) No rancor here.
No problem Quija. It was probably me that was being testy and I apologize for that.

I agree with what your saying however...at least one friend had to know something - whoever stated they didn't want to get her in trouble. And if that person knew anything at all - I'm sure at least their good friend knew too. Does that make sense? I'm getting tired....I feel very strongly someone in her circle of friends knows something. Maybe they don't think it's significant and they leave it out of their LE interview. These friends have to be re-interviewed!!!!

Somewhere recently I read the page about Maura and Brianna...
it was written that they had 61 ...? witness statements re:Brianna....
Nary a number of "statements" mentioned for Maura...why not...?

All my life I have been curious and wanting to know and learn more. Every social situation, I enjoy learning, by listening to people and
their thoughts and knowledge. That's an education in itself. If one doesn't listen and learn, they
tend to get stuck in a rut and stagnant. I have books on witchcraft, astrology, etc. One can discount, within their own being, as to whether
they understand..or want to understand..or care.
Example: an olllld friend of mine, kinda made fun of my hobby of American History/Genealogy....I asked her what she enjoyed.
answer: knitting....shudder..yuk (we don't poo poo each other.)
Yeh, I have done the astrological charts...even tried a curse on someone.. then onto another interest...or now, I am into books about NH,
Chronicle of White Mountains, Mysterious New England...yardi yardi.
I might meet someone tomorrow with a crystal ball or a person who has an occupation with which I have no knowledge. I am interested, until I am not. I wouldn't roll my eyes and discount them..I would listen and learn something.
My brother is a gun person...he knows that I don't know, or care. He is bored with my interests...I with his. We are not discourteous
to each of our interests or beliefs.
It should be that way here, especially here, whereas; we all wouldn't be here at all, if we didn't want a caring end. How do we get there..?
Simple, open the closed, ignorant and stubborn minds; and listen. A relative of mine in Woodsville suggested dowsing, through the woods,
wanna laugh at him......? OK...whatever....

PS Sorry for going on n on...I recall nights of Silky and I writing into the night...and wondering when Helena would wake nd "delete/edit" us....Bittersweet memories...especially nearing Christmas.....
