Anyone please correct me if I'm wrong about this but I specifically recall reading the reactions from the Murray family when this happened. That's what I recall also.

Remember the elaborate story about the death in the family, the computer searches for places to go in Vermont and New Hampshire, the withdrawal of money, etc. Bill Oops. I meant that she'd left the accident scene of her own accord. Sorry for the lack of clarity there.

This where you answered me? Blonde not really seeing it? But I'm trying can you explain your answer? Thanks elsewherebriefly wrote: <quoted text> The bottom line is that during those first few days/weeks both NHSP and Mr. Murray believed Maura hitched/accepted a ride. I just went back and searched for articles containing the name Bruno. He was assigned to the case through NHSP Troop F at that time.

Gee, that's a bit contradictory considering that NH relies so heavily on Rooms & Meals tax. What's it up to these days 8%? Property taxes, Lordy Lordy. I know lots of people who went into shock when they opened their bill this past month. A 40% increase without so much as a warning. ***I must say this is the most ridiculous reply I've seen so far.

So you are an older student? Will you tell us what you saw please? What towns where these? Was there a very tall officer with them? Benji wrote: When the police went door to door from the dorm up the hill, I waited for them to talk with me, considering my commanding view. I welcomed them inside and casually offered my help. A few days later they came back and took me up on my offer. A third officer whom I already knew well accompanied them. This third officer was from a department located a few towns north, next to a little business of mine. He had worked for us for a number of years. He knew things the other local officers did not know. It was a delightful scene, full of petty intrigue and pre-coordiated remarks. I helped them all I could.

Once again we have a useful discussion for about five pages and then it breaks apart into character bashing and people arguing about stuff. A pattern continues. Anyone else seeing it?

For us the evidence was different but if it wasn't it. For me personally I would have handled things differently. Thank you for clearing up your meaning for me! I honestly don't feel there are 2 here that would have handled it the same. My issue is the family gives the press the match and lite it so to speak then them realize the fire storm coming and try to stomp it out! Just and example "Maura and Billy had a stash" just the best of statements. That's the point I'm trying to get across. FireCat wrote: <quoted text> I didn't say anyone was stopping him. In fact, that was one of the ways I was referring to him continuing. I was simply referring to time constraints of press conferences, deadlines that must be met, battery power.....you took that a little too literally, I'm afraid, WW. And had god forbid you not found your parent, wouldn't YOU still be out there talking to him or her?

Thanks <quoted text> The squaw walk discussion should have never have been made public. Like I've said three times already, I believe Mr. Murray when he stated his words were taken out of context. It made me physically ill when I read it in the Manchester Union Leader. In an earlier article Williams announced that SP Bruno from NHSP was involved in the investigation as well as VSP. He stated stated that they believe Maura may have accepted a ride from someone. Mr. Murray concurred with this also. I'll pull up the article if need be.

The reconstruction of the scene conducted by professionals yeilded evidence of foul play...THE CAR WAS STAGED! The amount of damage to her car was not consistant with runnung into a snow/ice bank nor was it consistant with hitting trees. The female discribed was NOT a discription of Maura. The extensive damage done to the front of her car was done after towing. The night of the accident NOairbags were deployed, that didn't happen until it was behind the garage. Talking about a trailor hitch and the possibility of her car coming in contact with one.....Why was it that a white Ford explorer owned by the HPD was involved in an accident, and had a trailor hitch, but was quickly sold to someone in Littleton? There was a white SUV seen in the vacinity that night... When you match the front bumper of a Saturn to the rear bumper of an explorer there is enough room for the Saturn to go just under it...If ST Monohan was there why was there no report? C. Smith gave a brand new leather glove to the dog team for a scent to track, why the glove and not some other articles that were in the car, instead of a new pair of gloves? The fire dept and EMS or EMT's are part of search and rescue in New Hampshire so knowing there was an accident victim out there presumable intoxicated, with a head injury(This spells danger)why in gods name would a senior officer turn them away if there was nothing to hide. I suggest everyone take a hard look into the first eyewitness description given. I believe it was all in the description of the person seen leaving the accident, meaning the desxription was right just not Maura.... Thought this would be a good post to re-read.

Well trying getting up to the news there is a murder running your back yard and you LE sucks and you're next! I think picking and choose was lost when certain people picked to bad mouth others in the press! I think Mr. Murray lack of respect for LE and those us women living in the area is equally physically ill. Let's move on please we get how you feel and it would be nice you would remotely try how we feel. elsewherebriefly wrote: <quoted text> The squaw walk discussion should have never have been made public. I also suspect that people who don't work in the media, as you do, often don't realize how their statements are going to sound as sound bites. You do, of course, because it's what you do for a living (even though you take photos, you still presumably work in a newsroom and know what I'm talking about), but the average person doesn't think about how something's going to sound when quoted in a newspaper. And you're right. No two would react the same. Here's hoping no one else has to find out. My own parents are getting older, and it's not something I'm looking forward to possibly having to deal with one day.....

You don't mind since you all want to help! <quoted text> Well, I know what the "old squaw walk" is ... but then again, I grew up on a reservation with Native Americans and then have studied their cultures/histories my entire adult life, so if I *didn't* know it would be odd. However, my take on Fred's use of the comment is that it was a nervous remark, the kind people make when their minds are flying around the possibilities. [as an aside, the word "squaw" used to refer to a woman is one of the biggest translation mistakes in history ... that word refers to a distinctive part of the male anatomy, it does not mean "woman"]
