I didn't miss the Macho-Ugly post at p. 588 #11842. You're so pissed off...that you've taken a hammer to Ben F (or worse).

Thing is, I read your posts...and often agree with you. The salient points in this particular post are below...and they make sense:

I might guess that your frustration level went over the top...and that you so vigorously disagreed with Ben (and others?) that you totally lost patience. At that point, your responses became personalized...tailor made to torture, with words, the party with "whom" you disagreed.

Here's what might help....at least from my experience.....
State your case
Restate your case
Name names, if necessary....but short of rampage
Listen to the feedback....and shrug
Groan when "they" continue along in the same thought process that pissed you off in the beginning
Pound the earth

Better, still, I find that when I can personally connect with at least one person on a forum to air frustrations and concerns that it humanizes the experience.

It's very likely you aren't quick to throw in an apology....so I hope I've helped the situation along.

Unfortunately, Maura looks like many other people, no distinguishing facial features other than her beautiful teeth and dimples, her hair style and colouring are not notably distinctive.

In southern Ireland, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, in Scotland, and in the Basque region of Spain there would be thousands and thousands of women who could be mistaken for Maura. It is the Southern Irish in her...that genetic trait is very strong, straight dark hair, fair complexion, tall and thin, with beautiful blue-green eyes.

Forgot to mention Eurobserver that same genetic trait as Maura's would be found in women in Boston area and New York were the Irish settled.

I saw a woman in Habitant Nova Scotia who lived and worked at an American owned winery, I would have staked my life it was her, but knew better, it was not Maura. She could pass as her double.

Talking about yourself again, Just a Thought?

We know virtually nothing.

The few facts I know I came across by pure chance.

Repeating myself, it's hard to believe that the FBI was directed to just do routine interviews with family and friends in the Massachusetts vicinity. And that their job was of minimal importance. I can't believe I bought that for so long! Yes, NH LE will do the deep investigative work in the Haverhill area, and let's "let" the FBI do the go-fer-type routine stuff!(This is sarcasm.) And it's only my current opinion. As others have been speculating, who was Maura going up north with? Her family has stated that NEVER BEFORE HAD MAURA EVER TAKEN A TRIP LIKE THAT ALONE. Seems when she went somewhere (from the tiny amount we've been told) it was with Billy or Fred. So I'm guessing it was a guy she was traveling with.

Again, anyone know if the Saturn had power windows? I'm trying to explain the "cracked open" back window being inadvertently opened if Maura was feeling in the dark for the "lock door" button ---- IF it actually had power locks, etc.

If her car was sitting in the parking lot, not being used, did Maura meet anyone there? After a run, did she talk in the car with a fellow runner?(Particularly on warm days!) Was it a private spot to recline and visit without being easily seen? Even in January on a sunny day the solar warmth could be tolerable for a quick visit... I don't recall anyone on her dorm floor saying they knew she lived on that dorm floor... So I also never heard anyone talk about visitors coming to her room. No-one ever answered my question as to whether she was in one of the single rooms near the elevators and staircase (at the end of the floor) or a single right across from the lounge hangout area. Did she park away from overhead lighting? I'm 75%(ha) convinced she had a new boyfriend and that some of her acquaintances and perhaps even some family knew about it. I can understand why that wouldn't look good to mention because her having Billy as a fiance creates a very stable image. It also detoxifies the report that she left birth control pills in the Saturn and makes it seem like she was Almost Married. If I sound irritated it's because I am. We were duped about a lot of things. And many of those things would not have "damaged the investigation"; they are just things that might not look great. No-one is perfect. Tell it like it is!

The floor map posted on the MMM forum indicated Maura's room was near the end of the hall close to the elevator.

I believe the family cannot share what they don't know about, heck I do not even know the friends of my son who is the same age as Maura when she disappeared.

It is likely that her friends at the U of Mass would be a better source for this information. If Maura was up to something secretive her family would be the last to know.

Far as anyone in the dorm not seeing her, if she had a private bathroom, and did not watch TV, and no fellow persons in her class, then perhaps they never saw her. Also, the question is did the FBI ask everyone on her floor, if everyone said no, then I would believe that she was spending time elsewhere. But we don't know that, agreed we know very little and what we do know doesn't jive.
