I'll play. No, as far as we know, none of Alden's clones met Maura. I'd be at least fascinated if one of the multiple personalities HAD actually "met" Maura.

I have tried, as have many others, many times, to enumerate the FACTS that we know. Every time I've seen it attempted here, the "usual suspects" (I mean suspect) immediately divert with a rant about embryonic theft and the Skull and Bones society, or some equally preposterous (at best) crap. The tactic du semaine appears to be to indicate that neither Bish nor Chaput were "brutally" murdered (talk to someone, almost anyone, in the North Country about that, if you question the "brutality") and that they were killed by the same person because of something that they were doing that "made it" happen. If I sound disgusted, it's because I am.

I'm quite sure that information on places searched has rarely been given here. I certainly haven't said anything about specific places that I have searched.

"Brutal" is a good word to use in headlines and outraged conversation, but in a scientific sense, I doubt it's very useful or precise.

If anything, "brutal" describes the state of mind of the attacker. The degree of a murder's brutality is chosen by the attacker, not the victim.

The level of brutality can obviously be an important component of a murder investigation, but by itself it does little to reveal such factors as the attacker's handedness, height, agility, and so on. These factors are important in determining the attacker's identity.

I'm sure it's far easier, for example, to zero in on a left handed male, 75 inches tall, 200-220 pounds, wearing size 12 Merrill trail hikers than it is to narrow down the list to people who get really enraged for whatever reason. It's probably nice to have both the psyc and physical profiles together, but "brutal" is only a part of the package, and often a very subjective one at that.

The word brutal adds nothing to the description of a murder because every murder is brutal. People should stop using the words together.
