If you don't agree with even the subject matter of a poster's thoughts, if you think it is preposterous or at worst an attempt to distract, the fix is simple: don't respond to it and go on to the next post that makes sense to you. I disagree, and contend there is good purpose in connecting/linking a poster's identity to consistency in thought and veracity of content. Although it may be an individual's preference to communicate via many monikers, it is suspicious, unusual and unnecessary. By questioning the existence of so many aliases, Sophie Bean, Dawn and others are rightfully choosing to verify the source/quality of comments before accepting or rejecting them.

My point is that it is NOT POSSIBLE to verify the identity of ANYONE in a forum such as this one (and most others) unless law enforcement is involved. Are YOU going to hand out your personal information ... name, address, social security number ... over the Internet in order to prove who you are? Are YOU willing to have other posters run background checks on YOU? If you're not willing to cough it all up and prove who YOU are, then why in the world should anyone else be asked to prove who THEY are? And even if someone else did give out that information, how do you know it is information truly about them -- they could give out their next-door neighbor's info for all you know. And how is discussing all THIS leading us to any helpful information about Maura?

My reference is to my/Sophie's/Dawn's abilities to assess the validity of written comments via THE PERCEPTION OF veracity and intent. This is according to our personal "filters" that we use to "size up" people and situations. Our personal radar. No, I do not advocate harassing someone to reveal his/her identity. It is impossible and undesirable to intrude on anyone's privacy here. That said, call this yet another obstruction to verifying sources and facts.

Sophie Bean, I was just catching up on the board.. and saw that I was included as one of the Alden characters. I am not. Did you read what was posted by all the names you claim are the Alden different identities? Although I don't post here often, I do read as often as possible and was drawn here from a CNN cold cases article that was written about it in october or november. If you don't believe that I'm NOT Alden.. I'm a 25 year old female nursing student in New Jersey. I use Turanna as my name online everywhere I post anything. You can even look me up on myspace to see my picture and make sure I'm who I say I am. All I'm saying is perhaps you should have read everything these Alden alias' have written to see if it matched up with his erratic postings before claiming a poster another person. Just because a few of those names listed don't post anymore doesn't mean that they are ALL Alden.. perhaps they just decided not to post because they figured there's already too much confusion on here and don't want to add to it? That's why I don't post unless there is something I may be able to help with or clarify, like this. So can we continue trying to figure out what happened to Maura please?

I have been trying to keep some of this info straight. So I go back over to the other board - check case chart - it says there is NOT a passanger air bag.? In the police report it says there is one and I thought someone could see it when they blew the picture up? I think this is what frustrates some of us. So much grey and not black and white. Truth is truth. Which is it?

I saw at least 50 pages of this forum which are nothing but the various clones having a conversation with "one another" - and a distressing number of other pages where well-intentioned people who actually care about Maura were engaged in "discussion" with this "entity." I'm sure that I missed a number of identities, because I was just SKIMMING!
Now, when any of us posts, our location changes slightly over time - something about the server, I'm sure. MOST of the entities / bots listed are posted from different locations. I don't know enough to know how easy that is to do, but I do know enough to know that I can't do it easily even if I wanted to.
That's INTENT.
It's also intent to confuse, obfuscate and deflect - willful and malicious.
In early January, several women were on this forum who bravely shared experiences of being assaulted in the upper CT Valley. Within hours of their postings, there was a flood of postings by the bots which resulted in those posts, which could have held important information about this case - NOT THEORIES!!!- being buried,
Please recognize, my friends, that we are being played by Alden and "his clones" - to what end, I scarcely dare speculate.

Hi Snowy, Advocate, Sophie, et al., Just wanted to say that the Benjamin Franklyn, posting out of California, has been working on lots of logic-driven theories over the months; also on providing a way to do a SEARCH here --- with his computer expertise --- as well as helping posters get rid of various viruses (without getting taken in by scams that charge for that service). Anyway, he is not Alden. He's a real person and he cares about Maura's disappearance. In a way I appreciated seeing Sophie's list, although it also scared me -- It reminded me of McCarthy or Nixon's black list. It was good to have some of my suspicions about certain clones confirmed (she forgot Jeff and Dale), but I also felt it intensified a feeling of distrust, some paranoia, and wondering if things I say in emails might be misused. A good con artist can make a person (definitely me) feel bad enough about not trusting him/her, that I DO feel compelled to divulge all my personal information to show I'm for real. Of course, that is one skill of a con man. At the moment I don't think the "clones" are posting here with any criminal intent, probably just for amusement, and possibly with a conviction that a lot of the research IS tying together into a whole, which he wants us to be aware of. So Sophie got to vent her anger; posters unjustly listed can post and clear their "names"; and we can scroll by the posts that are way out or full of rage. And, personally, I hope we don't spend too much more time on EGGS.

This will never fly, but I DID think it wasn't a bad idea (what one or more posters suggested) to just START OVER. I started compiling a list of pretty-much-universally accepted facts. Then a list of "facts" we've gotten from quotes from several independent people. Also a list of debatables... differing quotes in articles... And rumors and speculation... which we could rate on some simple scale as to probability? It might work, or we might all kill each other. Anyone up to looking at, say, a list of "facts" and adding to them, editing them, or showing they're NOT facts? If so, I'd be glad to start posting 'em here... and there are others with far better documentation than I've got!

What about we get the word out and let the voice of the people help find answers? Seems to have worked in other missing persons case. Knowledge is brain power. ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country.. apply that approach - maybe we can get more on board to find her.
