Judged: 2 2 2 Common sense tells me that if I lost something valuable I would search carefully a couple of times and then move on to another area where I might have lost it. Why search the same area over and over again when nothing was found the first couple of times? |

Judged: 3 3 3 I don't know who's giving you "push back" but why do you suppose they are doing that? IMO when you say that it's the locals prime time to shine and be heroes you are insinuationg that they know something. But what if they don't??? I've had my ups and downs with a few of the people on this forum but I know the amount of time and energy they have spent for 5 years. Even though we may disagree on some things I would never say that they don't want to help. Jeesh! |

Judged: 1 1 1 OCTOBER 5-8, 1998 - The State of Vermont, along with the Vermont Police, went back for the third time to the former Reapp property in Jericho, VT, where Grace and little Gracie resided and disappeared from. They excavated the entire back yard (including the area of the former chicken coop), coming up empty again. MAY 1 & 2, 2000 - A specialized FBI team, assisted by the Vermont State Police, returned to the Jericho homestead that Grace and little Grace disappeared from. Using state-of-the-art remote imaging equipment at strategic areas on the property, they spent two full days there. OCTOBER 23 & 24, 2000 - Law enforcement officials again arrive at the Jericho homestead with an excavator to comb specific areas of the property, performing another extensive dig in search of the bodies. OCTOBER 27, 2000 - Juliana, with her husband, Dewey, and her son, Christopher, depart for Jericho, VT, where they will meet the search team in an attempt to locate evidence and the remains of Grace and little Gracie. Equipped with the detailed map drawn by the well-known international medium, Frances Hollis-Powles, their hopes are high. OCTOBER 29, 2000 - Each member of the search team has returned home after finding an area that looks extremely promising. However, due to inclement weather conditions, the search was aborted. Plans are to return in the future, after the winter ground thaws, with a cadaver dog to see if he can pick up any scents. OCTOBER 29, 30, 31, 2001 - Juliana and her husband, Dewey, again travel from CT to Vermont for the extensive dig performed by the Vermont State Police and the F.B.I. Crime Unit of the two-car garage that her brother-in-law, Michael Reapp, added to the side of the house during the year following Grace's and little Gracie's disappearances. After a two-day dig, they did not find any remains. At this time, we are going to re-group and decide what the next step will be, if, in fact, there will be a next step for the law-enforcement agencies. I, personally, will NEVER stop searching for my sister and niece so we will continue on, hoping tomorrow will bring answers. AUGUST 4, 5, 2003 – Detective Jerry Charboneau returned to Grace and little Gracie’s Jericho, Vermont home to renew the search for Grace and little Gracie. Four air scent dog/handler teams from New England K-9 Search & Rescue who are also certified for cadaver recovery searched the area for two days. |

Judged: 1 1 1 Nice to hear from you Bill/WTF...but sorry to disappoint. A few of us are hard-wired to ask the "softer" questions. Just breaking down some of the barriers and emotionally charged differences that needlessly separate people from each other is positive. I looked at Maura's MySpace page again tonight...her pictures don't lie. Her smile is bright and beautiful, her body language is lovely and feminine, and she is loved by many...as we love our own children. Prayers for her homecoming. Under all circumstances, it seems unusual to find no trace of Maura. I don't think I can imagine the pain her family lives with every day. Columbo, if you are certain Brian Rooney lived and worked in the area during the time of Maura's disappearance, then perhaps a chance encounter between them may very well prove to be that one in a million. There is much support here for Maura...and outrage, if she has been harmed. All the caring hearts and fine minds express themselves in so many ways. Stay and wait...stay and hope. |
Judged: 4 3 1 A warrant was issued for the arrest of Michael Reapp for the murder of his wife and daughter. His wanted poster has been up on the VSP website for years, guess you never noticed. |
Judged: 3 3 1 Here is the link to the actual website which houses a timeline of events following the disappearances of Grace & Gracie Reapp in 1978, not that I think you really care. |
Judged: 1 Thanks, Caroline, for keeping the discussion focused on MAURA. |
Judged: 1 1 1 After all that searching did they find them? Some tend to forget that in Feb the ground is frozen solid here. You couldn't dig a hole if your life depended on it. Hiding places are very limited in the wintertime. Summer now is a whole different story. I'll stick to searching a different area after a couple of searches in an area produced no results. |
Judged: 1 1 1 Still, nothing was ever found in any of the searches, at least based on the information which you provided. |
Judged: 1 1 1 Evidently you are the only one that can see the list with 842 names cause I can't find it. Where did you see it Caroline/Suzanne and why are you using two names? |
Judged: 1 1 1 So what, are you saying that the FBI & VSP pulled the arrest warrants for Michael Reap for the murders of Grace & Gracie Reap out of their arses? They obviously found something or had enough circumstantial evidence to feel confident about following through with an arrest and conviction. Sorry for sounding so rude but c'mon! |
My only thoughts on needing to search areas more than once is that, unlike a lost object, someone trying to hide something may move evidence. If (god forbid) there are remains to be found, the natural order of the wilderness is that that stuff moves around via animals. People, if they are alive, move. So searching a certain spot more than once makes quite a bit of sense. Just because there's nothing to find on one given date doesn't mean there won't be something there the next time. It's one of the reasons they don't make search areas known to the public. |

Judged: 2 2 1 I'M MORE CONVINCED ALL THE TIME THAT SOMETHING IMPORTANT HAPPENED BEFORE OUR "ASSUMED" TIMELINE BEGINS AND WELL BEFORE FW CALLED 911. *FIRST WE HAVE NHSP MONAHAN REFUSING TO DISCUSS TIMING ISSUES regarding Maura's accident with RO (per RO) *THE TIMING OF THE COTTAGE HOSPITAL PASSING-BY WITNESS (WHISTON POSTED ABOUT) *The Hanover Log being evidentiary (per Peri)--- may imply earlier logged calls.... *VERY unspecific references by LE about the accident occuring at "7:00PM, 7:30PM". *IIRC the Accident Report had some strange timing problems, like CS being dispatched a few minutes before the 911 call even came in? *Anne hearing "left in a private vehicle" *that Monahan was coincidentally cruising within a mile of the Saturn/snowbank during the "incident" period *that Monahan was looking at a person on foot, RO, stopped, and said to her "oh, it's you." *that Monahan seemed more interested in IDing a walker than "getting somewhere" --- as if finding a particular person was his goal. *that the red truck was basically doing the SAME THING as Monahan, except he didn't know RO personally, so he needed to look a few times, and then even continue up to where there was better lighting to be sure. *Witnesses disagreeing about seeing a man and/or a woman at the Saturn, strongly enough that I believe an article said the husband and wife are still irritated with each other about this. *Butch saying he SAW THE CRASH in one log, and his wife/gf saying he saw the accident. Him saying the airbags were deployed, but they would've been deflated since FW had time to hear the crash and for the bags to deflate before Butch arrived. *CS seeing the Saturn with no-one in it and knowing alcohol was missing. *CS knowing it was a girl in the Saturn, but denying he knew it was a girl in the Saturn for some time. *probably repetitive, but it seems that THERE WERE FOUR VEHICLES (CS, SBD, Monahan, Red Truck) between around 7PM and 8PM driving around looking for someone. And THAT started about 1/2 hour before FW called 911 to report the Saturn in the snowbank! Now I'm getting a better idea of why there was talk of a "first accident". Sounds like SOMETHING definitely happened in the 1/2 hour (or so) before FW called LE at 7:27 (?). |

Well if you think someone did something with Maura in the winter there is alwas the water bodies that are accesable in the winter without to much trouble. the conneticut river would be my guess if someone wanted to hide anything and I could think of other places but I refuse to name them as it might give the criminal mind ideas. But many of us are hoping she is just missing and not hurt just like others here! We are praying that this comes to a head soon for the Murray Family's sake. God Bless everyone that really cares in here and God Bless all of Maura's loved ones and family as well! Sometimes the more simple you think is the best as reality is stranger than fiction!!!!!! |

Judged: 2 1 1 I agree with you and others that the timeline we may be following was all set in mothion well before that evening Maura dissapeared and that what ever happened to Maura started well before that night her car was found but someone triied very hard to make everything look like they wanted us to see it! What a tangled web they weave once they want to decieve others! |
