Whiston,
Very valid questions there. Unfortunately, I don´t have any answers. Hopefully others onboard may be able to help. As for West Point, Maura´s elder sister Julie attended West Point (Class of 2002), a fact which likely may have had some bearing on Maura´s decision to enroll there. Regarding Bartlett, NH, I read somewhere that Maura and her family often stayed at the big Attitash Ski Resort nearby. |

mcsmom,
Regarding your recent posting and with all due and sincere respect: Are you suggesting that we completely drop all attention as for Amherst, West Point, Bartlett and Hanson, in order to merely concentrate on Haverhill only? Is this the way forward that you are advocating for this board? Kindly, clarify - thanks! Perhaps I´m misreading your comment - if so, please bear with me. |

Judged: 1 1 1 Amherst, West Point, Bartlett Hanson, OH MY Ouija, good post, got me thinking. |
FireCat - This is a great place to post but it's frustrating to be aware there may be avenues KNOWN (by some) to be irrelevant, yet the public (us) hasn't been told that. It's upsetting too because belaboring TRULY disproven possibilities has to be very painful for the family and also a waste of time for this eclectic (big word) group of people who have found themselves pulled into Maura's disappearance.
Do you know what made it possible for the type of blood found in the A-frame's closet to be released to the public AT THIS TIME?(using caps because don't know how to italicize) Does the statement "75% chance of prosecution" (not exact quote here) mean soley foul play? It could be anything, right? Like charging a local person with forcing her car off the road, or injuring Maura so she was forced to flee; someone hitting her car and leaving the scene; it could be a witness withholding information; it could be that a helpful local took her to public transportation and as the case gained attention was afraid to admit it and lied in his statement about it; it could involve charging a friend who was accompanying Maura from Amherst with helping her leave the scene of an accident. Who knows? To avoid more paragraphs like the last one (haha), it would be great to be told, without hurting the investigation, what possibilities are known, KNOWN, to be untrue. Can a statement ever be issued like, for ex., "We have proof Maura did not run away"? That's sure better than calling something "hogwash" or "ridiculous", or being told "Maura just wouldn't do that", all of which sound too subjective to be treated as fact. |

Euro, Paris, whiston, Beagle... I think it makes a lot of sense to take a look at West Point.
One reason is that that seems like the first time things might have gotten "shaky" for Maura... either something happening there that forced the transfer to UMass... or Maura losing sureness of the direction she wanted to go... I remember reading that Billy and Sharon and her family (in addition to West Point counseling) helped her come up with the idea for Nursing. And I'm not sure that was really for her because I remember reading a family member's statement that she wanted to be a "physician's assistant", which is far different from being a nurse or a nurse practitioner.... I thought that job involved mostly taking blood pressure, pulse and temperature? Thoughts about this? I just got the sense Maura might have lost some confidence at West Point. Adding that to all the stresses we keep listing... |

I told you to click your heels Paris, we're not in Kansas anymore...

Judged: 1 1 1 My thought is that Oh My has thought about all the slanderous/libel remarks he/she made about so many people and he/she either sought help or are looking for a very good lawyer. I'm not saying all, but 90% of what Oh My said was bull cocky and totally untrue. |
|
You're exactly right looking4amoose. |
|
Hey Wowzer, good to "see" you. It was difficult to read OH MY's posts but many of them did center around the A-frame house's occupants. Do you think, in spite of all the verbiage, that OH MY knew the renters and there's a chance he/she did hear something useful about Maura?

Beagle, just caught up on all the posts and wanted to tell you i'm so happy for the resolution of the hostage situation!

I was always questioning him/her. Because I know a guy that used to work with me that wanted to be an LEO or PI so bad, he threw away a >100k a year job and ended being a security guard, for a local company that pays min wage.. Anyhow, "OH MY" acted on screen exactly as this cat acted in real life(shot in the dark acccusing everyone and giving names so freely on this public forum, leaving himself liable). But the reason I quoted you is, I have never looked at it like that he may have really knew something. That would explain alot. |
Dunno. I'm not even convinced it's fact, which is why I asked Shack where this came from. I'm assuming there's computer trouble on Shack's end again (a regular occurrence) so I don't think we're being ignored on purpose. |
|
WeWii - Yeah --- with OH MY's posts arrows were flying! At one point OH MY dropped the name (Scotty or Scott E.) of the renter's brother... so I thought the posts might just be local gossip, but then again... Although names were being tossed around like crazy, there may have been bits of rationality regarding the renter's local connections.... Oh, by the way, reading some posts here i'm sometimes convinced i recognize an old friend's language or ways! And I'll never know for sure!

FireCat, If Shack identified the blood that way I believe it is true. Do you remember if she was there for that search? So now I'm wondering if it WAS a slip, after all. If it was a slip, it's too late. But if Shack says she misread her notes and it's NOT true, then we're back where we started, EXCEPT for planting the seed of an idea in our heads that a female was held captive in that closet and refocussing us on that house --- which is already happening!
As Moose said above, Fred and the PIs being driven to find their own evidence when there wasn't enough action taken by LE (Moose didn't say that part) might have left the evidence unusable... |
|
Judged: 1 1 1 I believe that most of what Oh My offered was the truth, I just don't know how it will relate to Maura and finding her. |
