Where is MAURA MURRAY

Euro - Right, it's not too hard to change your appearance.(It would be a constant annoyance, tho, I'd think, wearing heavy make-up for a "natural" kind of girl.) For fun/frugality I used to buy whatever color "hair coloring" was very marked down and with cutting my own hair as well --- uh, ID would've been difficult.

On the other forum, people tossed around what the name "Raykel" might "mean". Some posters thought it might have a combination of 2 names --- the first 3 letters in MURray, and maybe the first 3 letters of a friend of hers? KELly, KELsey, whatever. All we can do is speculate, but for the Barton man to feel he was 99% sure... and the other behavior exhibited in the church...

Separating the horse shxt from the bull shxt is the problem. If you want to go back, write it all down and try to sift through it go ahead. I believe s/he does much more damage than good and I won't respond to her or acknowledge her. But that is just me obviously you are free to do whatever you want. Any time a dog has a "hit" they bring
in another dog to "comfirm" the hit.
There was never a comfirmation at the A-Frame.
The PI's took samples and they are what by law?
Required to turn over anything and everything to the LE who is investigating the case.
So if Maura's DNA was in there they would have had enough to secure a search warrant which LE didn't to our knowledge since Claude is still free.

About dying your hair. I think when you have dark hair and go blond, you look too light in the skin, draw attention to yourself...maybe even look pale. Add to that tight curls and I could see the "need" to put on some suntan color foundation.

Let us, just for the sake of it, presume that it might have been Maura who as "Raykel" was seen in the Barton, VT, church three years ago.

Let´s also presume that it was actually Maura herself who was seen by the school bus driver in Swiftwater, although this is far from clear.

If so, how did she manage to get away from her car within a time span of 7-10 minutes?

Theories:

1. She was picked up by a friend/helper following in another car (remember the possible MA truck, seen by witness RO).
This friend/helper could have driven Maura anywhere in NH/VT/ME and even Quebec (no passports required) within a reasonable distance.

2. She was picked up by a passing motorist/unknown person who drove her some way east along Rt 112, possibly all the way to Lincoln/North Woodstock by the I-93.
Even if such a person did no harm whatsoever to Maura, he/she may well have been reluctant to come forward later, considering that Maura seemingly vanished without a trace. Coming forward may have put him/her in a difficult position, being the last (?) person to see Maura at the time.

3. Maura started running eastwards on Rt112.
Apparently there wasn´t much snow on the road itself and the temps hovered around the 30´s.
Being such a very accomplished runner and athlete this would certainly not be such an impossible option for Maura as it would be for most of us here, I presume...

Also: there is the disputed sighting by the construction worker of seeing a hooded figure running fast and evading detection some five miles east of the supposed crash site, near the junction of Rts 112 and 116.
This sighting may be open to question, but cannot be dismissed out of hand.

Even though the tracker dog(s) seemingly lost Maura´s scent somewhere near the junction with Bradley Hill Road, this may not necessarily mean that she was picked up by a car near that spot.
It is possible that the dog(s somehow got confused and lost the track.

Either of the three options above are certainly possible.
We can only speculate, but sometimes it might be a good thing to do so.

Concerning using leather gloves. Maura just received these for Christmas and most likely tried them on. She may have been driving without gloves, different gloves and these new gloves were just sitting there, like a spare.
If Cecil Smith handled these gloves before they were given to the dog handlers/police, could HIS scent be one explanation, could that confuse the dogs? Because he walked over to the SBD that night? Just trying to say this again because I really wonder what you may think about the idea.....anyone?

Combined theory---Maura prearranged to be picked at the accident site by the red pick up truck from MA and then dropped off further down 112 where she was then seen running by CW.

ok then, but how does that work if you consider the red truck was witnessed around the time of the 1st report of an accident? Seemed to be looking for someone.....To me it lessons being picked up at all would be unintentional.

looking4amoose´s theory is certainly interesting, but if this is what happened there must surely have been a very pressing/specific reason for Maura´s friend/helper (possibly in the MA truck?) to drop her off just five miles further east in the middle of nowhere in a more or less uninhabited part of National Park wilderness.
Why not drive Maura all the way down to Lincoln/North Woodstock or for that matter even Franconia on Rt116?

I must admit to some confusion as regards when the red truck was seen by witness RO.
She mentioned being by the Swiftwater Store when she saw EMS vehicles flashing past on Rt 112 and the red truck following.
I have always been under the impression that this was in response to the supposed crash site of the Saturn at the Weathered Barn (2nd accident).

Paris, I believe that as Maura had only just received these gloves and Sharon R said she never wore gloves that it is entirely possible they did not contain her scent. Since CS handled them and went to SBD driveway the night of the 'accident' that this could attribute to the indescision of the dog at the corner.

It was around 7 that RO was walking to the store. I don't have the details and I'm not able to look for it right now. Good question. CS says he was called at this time/that time and it took him 10 or so minutes to get there. To me that has always covered a possiblity of a connection to said previous accident, in the event it ever became public knowledge. RO says the truck stopped and then went on in the direction of.......Well, police hadn't gone by yet and if there WAS any involvement I just have to wonder if "they" were keeping guard so to say.
