LE must have examined the items before placing them in live auctions. They also tracked the destination of these items, many of which were quickly re-sold online, after the items left the live local auctions.
Some items were purchased back by LE, who simply kept tabs on the underbidder in order to identify him or her. I assume LE was hoping to discover possible confederates of the property's original owner.

An oral surgeon in NJ was recently indicted by a federal grand jury on 122 counts related to illegal procurement of human tissue. His company had sold nearly 20,000 pieces to various medical businesses. Many of the bones stolen from the deceased in mortuaries and funeral homes, for example, were replaced with PVC pipe. Other areas of the cadavers were replaced with rags.
A single hormonally induced harvest of 10-15 eggs from a very attractive champion female athlete with nearly perfect SAT's would bring about $100,000 on today's market. A larger, surgically acquired harvest would obviously bring much more money. If the black market already exists, which it does, where is the supply coming from?

If the circumstances surrounding Bish and Ferguson are unusually similar, and if Murray shares the same traits and potential fates as Bish apparently did and Ferguson probably would have, then why not tentatively see these crimes as related? Maybe they're not, but I'll bet a forensic accountant would agree that they might be.
From a strictly scientific point of view, the single most obvious feature these women share is good genes. And right now, good genes are very good money.
So then the question is begged. What conventional abductor/serial killer would chose his victims according to their IQ? And chose those most likely to successfully resist a kidnapping attempt, as did Ferguson?
With no progress in either the Bish or Murray cases for four and eight years now, these kinds of questions, once far-fetched, need at least a little honest attention.
By reviewing state and federal corporate filings, along with some other public records, it's not hard to see that this macabre scenario is far from impossible.
