Those are not things that a clear headed thinker would do.
This is very definitely true....it's clear evidence that, whatever she was thinking, Maura was under extreme stress and not thinking clearly.
Nursing students do not act so impulsively--she didn't get to be an honor student acting that way for sure.
No, but sometimes the strain of always BEING an honour student can cause such behaviour. I did a lot of extremely stupid things in my college years, things that could easily have gotten me killed. Maura is a reminder how lucky I was.

[QUOTE}Someone close to her knows what was going on---her friend at Amhertst wouldn't have stated that she didn't want to get her in trouble.[/QUOTE]

That is PRECISELY why I'm looking for the newspaper article, because the friend CLEARLY states that this was a misunderstanding, and NOT what she intended to imply.
The most recent "search" this weekend was almost nonexistant. I saw no one searching....was in an out all weekend on the trails in the area on the quad and with the dogs, as were my kids, and several friends. We were in the area of Swiftwater Circle, Valley Road, Pinnacle etc. which borders the "crash" site.
If I'm not mistaken, they didn't specify precisely where they searched.

NEWS FLASH -
A few nights ago, I showed a UMass police officer a photo of the parking permit on the Saturn (folded so as to not show the airbags) and asked him which parking lot the Saturn was permitted to park in. He told me, without any hesitation, and he noted that the permit had expired. He asked me if I was looking for the car. I said, no, that it was long gone from UMass and maybe even scrapped by now. I told him I just wanted to establish the driving time between SW and Matton.
Just ten minutes ago,(literally from right now as I'm typing this) that same police officer, a second UMass police officer, and a local police officer knocked on my door and gave me a NO TRESPASS ORDER. I am now prevented from driving on any street through the UMass campus or from setting foot on any property that belongs to UMass anywhere. For the next 24 months.
I was very clear and polite to the police officer when I talked with him at UMass, and gave no reason for being a suspicious person. In any event, he did not tonight ask what I was doing at UMass or ask why I was there or anything like that. I think he figured out who the Saturn belonged to after he had already talked with me. And this is how they are keeping me away from campus. I feel so wanted.
Do you think perhaps I asked the wrong questions at Umass the other night? A simple question about the location of a parking lot? To a police officer in uniform? Do you think just maybe there's something pretty sensitive going on in Amherst that is being kept silent?
Not to toot my own horn too loudly, but... sometimes you get more bees with vinegar than with honey. To turn a phrase.
Well, now, that IS interesting. I'm not sure it speaks of conspiracy, as you are convinced, but it's certainly interesting.

To say the least.

Being told it is now illegal for me to set foot on UMass property simply because I asked the location of a parking lot is nothing less than a Nazi style strong-arm tactic designed to keep my mouth shut. I'm sure a lot of people who read this board will applaud UMass for their efforts, but there's something rotten in the Amherst/Northampton area that stinks to the high heavens.

Well, it's certainly interesting, since you showed a picture of the parking decal from the car of a missing person. Which, you have to admit, is a little different from asking "if I had x-and-such permit, where could I park?"

Or perhaps they're just paranoid in the Homeland Security sense. It certainly wouldn't be the first time THAT'S happened to someone.

Conspiracy? I think a conspiracy consists of two or more people who have clearly established plans to break the law. It has to go beyond simple conversation, but not very far beyond. That's all a conspiracy is.

Maybe you are not familiar with the number of items that have been stolen from locals schools and colleges and then sold on eBay; at local flea markets; at far away flea markets, such as one in Webster, Florida, for example; at local auctions; at far away auctions; at tag sales in Bossier City, Louisiana, for example; at private sales right here in Greenfield and Franklin County.

I probably can make a list of dozens of items like this in just a few minutes. I know the terrain here and I know the people involved here and often wonder who else on these boards knows the same things I know. Don't lecture me about conspiracies. I know the legal definition and I know the addresses of the conspirators. And that, ultimately, is why I received the NO TRESPASS ORDER.

Employee theft from these schools, especially from their art galleries and science labs, is extremely common. That is why my experience in the storage unit and auction fields, my experience as an online bookseller, and my familiarity with the local academic and social scenes give me such a unique perspective.

I am not looking for Maura Murray. I am looking for the people responsible for her disappearance, however it may have happened - whether she was driven to it literally or figuratively. And I think they will make themselves known to me because I am such a loudmouth they cannot ignore me.

I'm pretty familiar with the Homeland Security excuse. This was not one of those times.

I don't care how common or uncommon an experience it was for this police officer to be asked about a parking lot permit decal. He was just a patrolman. The decision was not his. If I want to contest this, I have to discuss it with the Chief of Police at UMass. Only she can lift the order. Fat freakin chance.

Just because the question isn't asked of police officers every day doesn't mean they have a good reason to keep me off UMass property for two years! Not being able to go to UMass for me is a huge deal. No games. No plays. No concerts. No library. No simply driving N. Pleasant St. to get into town. No a lot of things. And right now, no more asking simple questions, which IS the reason I was given the order.

Not according to what the UMass police officer told me. He said that lot 12 was behind the Mullins Center, which is a 5-7 minute walk from Kennedy. There are closer spots. Much closer.

And by the way, if, for example, Wowser says something about the Haverhill, NH scene, I respect it because he actually LIVES there. He KNOWS what he's talking about. He doesn't look at his own backyard from an armchair in front of a computer screen hundreds of miles away. If he says the Saturn isn't there any longer, I believe him. He is THERE. It is not a virtual experience for him. Same here. I am talking as one IN Amherst and the general Pioneer Valley area and I DO KNOW what is happening in some of its darker corners. And I increasingly have reason to believe it is related to Maura's disappearance. What about this is it that you don't want to read?????

So... I drive to UMass and ask the location of a parking lot. A few days later I am told to stay off UMass property for 2 years. They didn't like my loafers? They didn't like my hair style? I was extremely polite and respectful and simply asked a simple question. There is no reason for them to keep me away from campus unless they don't want me poking around any longer.

What is your problem? You don't like that I'm HERE and that I know what the hell I'm talking about when it comes to stolen goods from local schools? You don't like that people who handle stolen property sometimes try to cover it up by keeping other people quiet?

I don't doubt your best intentions, but you, as far as I know, are not part of the local trade in books, art, and antiques. I am. And I have been for quite a while now. And it's not all a gentlemanly world. Some of it involves people who do not play nice.

For example, I know a guy who had two trailer trucks full of good merchandise bound for Brimfield burned to the ground a few years ago because he pissed someone off. That's the kind of people I'm talking about. And they are so nice looking when they are in the art galleries and science labs. But when you see them at a storage unit after dark and they're all sweaty and need to make a deal really, really quickly for cash, you sort of develop a less innocent view of the business.

I don't feel so good. I do not lie. I am wrong at times. I only know what I hear and stay open all the time. I have talked with Petrit Vasi, posted links, little drummer boy things. You didn't need to attack me personally.
I could listen to you and keep doing the only thing I know how from a distance. But you just threw me to the dogs.
