I'd also like to add that the majority of women who replied to the survery - performed by the NH Attorney General's Office- who had been victimized stated they new their abusers.

I resided in New Hampshire full time while attending high school and into my thirties.

Thankfully, I'm in the majority that has never been victimized.

With all due respect, maybe Mr. Murray doesn't have time to wade through all the bullshit we sling around here. He *does* in fact have recourse to avenues we don't (despite the whole supreme court garbage) and, frankly, maybe it is due to avenues such as this that he and direct family members have deemed Amherst unimportant.

Everyone needs to keep in mind that the family has a right to information that we do not necessarily "own" the same right to. There might be things they know that they are not allowed to disclose publicly (so as not to endanger the chances of either finding Maura or prosecuting someone who harmed her) so all they can do is say "not important" or (just for instance) "it was menstrual blood in the closet."

THEY HAVE EVERY LEGAL AND MORAL RIGHT, AND LEGAL RESPONSIBILITY, TO DO THAT.

Furthermore, the family doesn't have a responsibility to us, or the forum. The family has a responsibility to Maura. End of story.

In response to your previous post about the mental condition of the fugue state:

I´m certainly not an expert on this very complex matter, but have read a fair amount of the available information on this subject.

If Maura actually did bring some kind of personal ID with her from the Saturn and provided that she was/is indeed suffering from a fugue condition,
I believe there is a very good chance that she by now would have been found one way or other.

IMHO, this leads me to believe that she either did not bring any personal ID with her from her car, or that she was not at the time affected by some kind of fugue state.

I read of a case where a young man in the US (a student) suddenly disappeared and after some time managed to recall his own e-mail address. He was found in a very far-away location from his home and may not have been located at all, had he not remembered his e-mail address.

Very recently I also read a news report in my local Swedish newspaper, which told the story of a Stockholm woman whose car had run into a building in the centre of a small Swedish country town some 100 miles from Stockholm.
Apparently, the lady driver was convinced that she was still driving around in Stockholm and couldn´t offer any explanation how or why she ended up where her car was found by police.
In this mentally altered state she had none the less managed to drive nearly 100 miles from Stockholm on very busy roads without having a mishap prior to the crash which alerted the police.

Now, Maura may not have been suffering from a fugue state, but bearing in mind the considerable stress that she may have been subjected to at the time of her disappearance, it certainly can not be ruled out as a possible explanation.

I got a sense over the years that much of Maura's life was managed by family, and I could understand it if she just had to get away. I pray that is so and I hope Mr. Stone's sighting of a girl in the Barton church was Maura. Can't remember if anyone has yet, but I'm thinking of calling Mr. Stone. I'll be back here (sorry WeWii). Hey, and Beagle, I'm sorry that some of your posts upset me enough to (for the first time) seek support, attention, and safety here in case you were genuinely angry.

Anyone know David Stone's (Barton church sighting) town of residence? I talked with about 8 "David Stone" residences just now and none were the right ones. They all were nice, tho, listened, and didn't hang up!

I´m afraid I haven´t got a clue as regards Mr Stone´s place of residence.
I only know from various media reports that he is a member of the Barton church in question and would presume that he likely resides in the Barton area.
Of course, his number may well be ex-directory, so might not be publicly available.

I wish you the best of luck in your endeavours to find Mr Stone and would like to express my sincere admiration and thanks for your dedication.

Like you, I pray of all my heart that "Raykel" is indeed Maura. I´m thinking of Mr Stone´s description of "Raykel´s" tight curls and her "unmistakable runners legs", etc.

As you will be able to see for yourselves, people arriving from southern VT (and thus western MA) are advised to exit the Interstate at Wells River, follow US 302 through Woodsville and then -explicitly -
turn off onto Rt 112 towards North Woodstock/Lincoln!

This is of course merely a theory, but imagine that Maura might have been headed for this particular motel and was just following the road directions on its web site.
This could possibly be an explanation of why she ended up on Rt 112 at all.

Of course, there is no way of knowing whether the web site of this motel was actually available on the Net at the time of Maura´s departure from Amherst.

Still, perhaps worth some consideration?

Philip/Euro, it is true that if you Mapquest your way from Amherst MA to Lincoln NH (it cannot seem to find the exact address of that hotel) it sends you a ridiculous way that involves taking I-91, VT/NH Rte 9 out of Brattle Boro over to Concord, and I-93 up to Lincoln. Mapquest can be notoriously stupid.

Regarding your recent post:

The only reason why I posted the particular road directions for this motel is that it´s actually the only web site for a Lincoln/North Woodstock motel which I have seen as yet which actually advises travellers coming from southern Vermont to use Rt 112 between Woodsville and the Lincoln area.

There may well be other web sites advising the same route directions, but if so I haven´t come across them this far.
In due course I hope to check out all available web sites for the motels in the Lincoln/North Woodstock area.
If I find anything interesting as for their road directions, I will make sure to post it here.
