Whiston, yes..various versions...when I first read the DL, I noticed the words "Printed 11/04/2004" at the top,(perhaps a revision date.?) As far as US knowing Maura's agenda before Haverhill/Woodsville,I can only conclude that the Investigators have advised that that information is only for them. Sooo... maybe it is important to the investigation...? Along with the legalities of something that could be a fear or danger to the family could be why nobody is talking. Perhaps it is as simple as not wanting embarrassment to/with family. My gut feeling is, and has been, that Maura wasn't "running from"..she was "running to"....a "Mind Vacation".... (I know that feeling)

During the last phone conversation Maura had with her dad it was discussed that she'd call him at 7:00 pm, Feb 9th. It was discussed on the forum about how Maura always called her dad when she said she would. Again, before the accident with her dad's car she never gave her family a moment's worry. I'm beginning to wonder if maybe Maura tried to call her dad from her cell phone while enroute to her destination on the highway, couldn't get a signal, and pulled off to find a signal or find a payphone. A gas station, convenience store, rest stop maybe? Pure speculation on my part. I'd also like to add that the area relies heavily on tourism. February is peak ski season. Heavy traffic is usually at the start of the weekend. Maura's license plates caused her to stand out as a tourist, a pretty tourist driving solo. It's something I've had on my brain all of these years but have refrained from mentioning.

Elsewhere, your last paragraph caused me shivers...only because I, as well as others here, I'm sure, have had that picture in mind. I think of the Citgo/Mini Mart in Wells River...(across from Motel)only because it is brightly lit and has a large parking lot. Even if she only stopped for coffee or directions...it really looks very safe...I am sure it is... But, as you say, a pretty girl alone.. Maura trusted and loved her White Mountains..

PS..I ONLY used that Citgo ...as an example...cuz it is only a few miles off 91....and across the CT River, from Woodsville. I wasn't pointing at......I was pointing out...

(I know that feeling) I would feel more comfortable with that statement if we would be able to establish that she actually had a specific destination. It seems that she took off with a region in mind not a specific place. That smacks more of desperation than planning. An attempt at a plan that doesn’t work out and then heading to the area anyway. Not saying your wrong. I’m just not sure. She might know the area well enough she didn’t need more extensive planning. Bill

Some people ..some times...need a change in scenery, to re-group. Sitting by a Brook or Pond with a lunch....for City folk maybe a park. I do not always have a destination....I like the North Shore ..the ocean.. I will just drive there...about an hour....get a box of fried clams...sit on the rocks and watch the waves....unwind. and clear my head. There are some who are not "map" people...for example, if Maura had never actual "driven" to Jigger Johnson Campground...on route 112... (her favorite place in the mountains) AND, the fact that the Murray's used NH 93 North, to get to Jiggers....it is not inconceivable that she saw "112" and thought of a familiar and comfort spot. Most likely she knew it was not open for Winter business, however needed to be near it. Perhaps just being in that area would have been enough for her mind..and try to get a room nearby. She probably wouldn't even have been aware how far West she was...(approx. 50 miles..?) from Jigger. She had written that letter to them in her mid teens hoping for Summer employment. Hey Paris, Knowing you are not a "mapaholic"..just wanna tell you that it should be "East"...to Swiftwater...and "left" on Bunga. Please revise ;-] and re-submit for my approval.. ;-] LOL

Shack,.......you're right, I'm smilin big time, but are you sure you see what I was trying to do? I was thinking about Officer Monahan stopping RO, looking for someone on foot. I thought I was looking up the 'walking' FROM the 'accident' site to the area where RO was walking. Oh my, I'm drowsy (;0)

I don't feel the same urgency that I felt in the beginning of this nightmare. Since the close of the MMM Forum, it has felt like negativity to me. The Forum had it's positive times where it seemed like there was always a possibility. There were, at any one time, a hundred or so people logged in to the subject of Maura's mysterious disappearance that night on Rte. 112. Perhaps half of them participated in their heartfelt thoughts. And, half of them always thought that there was a crime. If we are to believe any truth at all, there is a SP Crime investigation. Is there really an nvestigation..? I mean, other than Weeper.? Elsewhere,(with her Blog, that I can't seem to figure out how to get back to, arrggh) Firecat, Sophie have continued this line of other missing NH/VT women.(In honor perhaps, for Beth) Maura Murray has to be found. When I hear words to the effect that we/I are/am only here because we don't have a life, my thought quickly goes to my one and only beautiful daughter. She is 5', 110 lbs. She is not tall beautiful, she is short pretty. She is noticed. If she disappeared, those who think that I am merely an obsessed person/mother of a missing child, would really find out who I am, and can be...(add her husband) At least the FIT of the MMM Forum attempted organization in distribution of fliers, letters and the many miles of travel to try to find ..to try..anything. Why can't Topix follow through with a positive attempt to find Maura, instead of trying to blame her or make excuses for an obvious crime. Is there anyone here who believes Maura is still alive.? No gray area here..she is or she isn't.(4 years ago, I would not have said those words) Doesn't matter... even if Maura was an ugly stupid pole dancing idiotic druggy etc etc...her Mom n Dad ache for her absence. There can't be a parent here who can't understand that....

Hello Shack & all, Yes, I certainly do believe that Maura is still around, somewhere. Call it an intuitive feeling or whatever.... Why isn´t she making herself known, you may well ask. There may be many reasons for that: Stress-induced memory loss, a fear of something/someone, perhaps being kept captive (not necessarily to start with, though), etc. I´m thinking of the sighting of the Maura look-alike in that convenience store in NH in 2006, as mentioned on Wikipedia and also here on this forum and on the ex-MMM board. That gives me the creeps.

Half Moon, Welcome to the forum. Please find listed below links that you may find informative. Anyone who has information that would like to send it anonymously, you may do so at Find Maura P.O. Box 890292 E. Weymouth, MA 02189 This is the link to Maura's actual website. There is an article from the Whitman Hanson Express that is very informative. I highly suggest reviewing Maura's actual website and reading the Hanson Express article. http://www.mauramurraymissing.com This is a link to a chart that has been compiled by Advocator. It has lots of great info. http://docs.google.com/View... There is also a timeline listed on Wiki but I don't have the link at the moment and I'm afraid that if I go look I'll loose this posting. Shack, I hear ya! My blog is still off line but I'll be sure to e-mail you the link when I get around to making it public again. Euro, Good to see you back!
