I actually went back and re-read the entire forum for a second time. The source of allegations/accusations about Silky is Lynn Marie Carty.

Although I admire her dedication to the Valley Murders she handled the exchange very unprofessionally.

For the record, the MMM forum never witheld information. I rarely asked questions but on the occasions that I did Silky immediately replied.

Silky bonded and became friends with a number of the members but did not extend herself to me. That's all I was implying.

Whomever posted the "I used to post on MMM but they didn't answer my questions" BS bandwagon.

You are barking up the wrong tree! Like I said before I'm not two faced, I'm not a liar, and I'm not a hypocrate.

Anyone who feels 'wronged' by MMM does not get one iota of sympathy or encouragement from me.

Thanks Elsewhere for the info. I went to the Barton Cashed sites and they are being re-routed, don't click on them. This one however shows the barton link is undergoing maintenance.

I'm guessing that you didn't have an opportunity to watch the recent 20/20 segment on Maura & Brooke Wilburger.

The NHSP Investigator who was being interviewed stated that some people come to the mountains to get away from their problems and to end their lives.

I'm sorry I've been so crabby lately. The reason why I keep jumping in and posting is mainly because I've felt compelled to defend Maura's family. Things have been on the upswing, at least in my opinion. Maybe now I can actually take as step back and take a neccesary breather.

Lots of new and important information is being presented on the forum via White Wash and I'm glad to see her communicating with Maura's family, this has been great.

If every I've trompled on anyone's theories that go against my own, I sincerely apologize.

It just really sucks that four and a half years later statements that Maura may have run away or committed suicide is still being brought up in the media.

In that last post to you I meant to say thanks.

I'm not at all computer literate but it was explained to me that certain links can capture information or do some other really crazy and damaging things to the computer.

One thing that I am concerned about is if foul play happened after she fled the scene of the accident (if she did). If this happened in an area where there were no witnesses - we'd have nothing to really go on.

Wrote about some of her experiences (limited to good taste).

She did say that she was able to contact her family.

She is now a PhD and doing very well for herself. She has a lot of courage and is a good intelligent person.

Anyway - there is a good collection of information there - if you want to look more into this angle.

Oh yeah - I do note that they would assume a new first name after joining - Dr. Miriam was "Jeshanah."

She left when she was young - just got on a bus after taking a trip with a friend to New York City. She was bussed with another group to a commune.

This organization is based world wide - members would move frequently enough, and they tended to be isolated.

Now - we have no evidence this happened - it could be a waste of time to look into - but to my mind - not impossible.

Half Moon, Sorry you had to hit here when the Forum seemingly hit a new ugly, angry, low recently. Anne and other "old timers" have quit many times.I am one of the "old timers" Posters and it doesn't matter what I write I am always deemed clueless nuts etc. I also believe the judging is manipulated. Not to long ago someone had judged a post of mine with a "heart"..
within hours it was gone...and,..another time, I gave a favorable judging..and it disappeared..replaced with negatives.
Look at this way...it gives them a feeling of accomplishment......better to vent their anger with little pictures. Yes, Laurie..very mean.

I have expressed my thoughts since 05...I am partially responsible for/from the NH anger. ie I used to sign off with "3 monkeys"....the
mentality was that I called NH folks monkeys...lol....the beat goes on.
RE: Beth/Silky, her parents wrote me a note..."she was a good kid"...and that is what I remember about her. Yes Paris, Beth's parents are mourning their child...as are the parents of Maura....

RE: The Church in Barton. There was talk on one of the discussion boards/forums about a picture that was on a website that had amazing similarities to Maura. Was that picture ever tracked down? Was it on the website for htis Assembly of God church?

Yes, I clearly remember a poster on this board mentioning that he/she had seen a picture of a young lady closely resembling Maura on a web site for some kind of religious community in the Irasburg area of northern Vermont, not very far from Barton,VT. I can´t recall the name of the community at the moment, but had a look at their web site at the time. These people are apparently running summer camps for children, etc, etc.
Judging by their web site, I recall that the impression was one of good Christian people trying to help others, nothing "strange" or "cultish" about it.

This was not the web site of the Solid Rock Assembly Church of Barton, though, and no affiliation between this church and the community was mentioned.

Apparently, this particular picture of the Maura-look-a-like girl was no longer available at the time the poster here mentioned this information, so we have only the poster´s word for this, as far as I know.

Yes Ben, apparently so. I didn't realize it was that bad until he came over and pointed that out last night. I need to get that tyre fixed today. I guess I have put a lot of miles on it and haven't kept up w/ rotating them.

But she DID run away and I think denying that is holding back any answers as to where she is or what happened to her.
I am in no way attacking anyone, just stating my opinion. I would think that the biggest question would be what was so horrible that she had to get into an unreliable car and leave her closenit and beloved family without telling any of them that she was leaving and head north to the mountains in the wintertime.
She knew they would be worried sick when they found her gone so what would be more important than putting her family through hell????
