If I understand it correctly, it would then seem that: 1. Maura´s cell-phone was "on" at the time in question 2. She did not answer the call in question. 3. Maura and her car was presumably within at most some 20 miles of the Londonderry, NH, tower. 4. If so, she was likely heading north on the I-93 in the direction of Lincoln/North Woodstock. Have I got something wrong here?

A couple of sites that might be of interest to some who even understand half of it. The 2nd one relates to "dead spots" in NH (a few in Londonderry) http://www.necellularsites.net/ http://www.cellreception.com/deadspots/newham... Haven't finished reading them as yet...slow computer and slower operator

Hunting the hare, or what's better known as the “snowshoe” is a winter tradition up north. Throughout most of northern New England the word snowshoe means rabbit hunting and outdoor fun. There's nothing like a fresh snowfall and playing 'chess' with a crafty "snowshoe" to make the winter seem a lot shorter. http://www.milleroutdoors.com/snowshoe-hare-h...

FireCat wrote: <quoted text> That whole post confuses me. When you say the "witness" do you mean SBD? Because he said her hair was DOWN. I was also under the impression that Maura ALMOST ALWAYS wore her hair UP, and you've indicated the opposite.(I remember one picture she even wrote something to the effect of "What's this? Maura with her hair down??" or something) Please clarify this for my Friday-afternoon-befuddled brain, Moose? Thanks! My mistake....long week..........even longer Friday......

1.The person making the call to Maura's phone was within a 22 mile radius of Londonderry NH tower. 2.If there is no record of this call on Maura's bill this could mean: Maura's cell phone was on but out of range and would have received the call had it been within cell reception. If Maura was still in Amherst between 4:37pm and 6pm likely the call would have gone through since this area has good cell reception. I 91 in '05 had good cell reception. Exit ramps less. A short distance from I 91 poor reception I don't know beyond White River Junction. We know that Maura was at the atm at 3:40pm. If for example the Londonderry call came one hour into her trip, we might be able to deduct that likely she was not on I 91( but still below WRJ) The call from Londonderry may have been in que until she regained cell service, but apparently never did based on the bill.

One doesn't usually check voice mail unless they have missed a call and they see the little voicemail icon showing, right? Is it known who the voicemail was from? That call (the one leaving the voicemail) would definitely show up on her cell bill as an incoming call, no? Also, I've been driving up 93 north to exit 32 for 4 years just about every weekend....and I have cell phone coverage the entire way. It's not until I get off of 93 that the coverage gets sketchy (right around Lost River Campground on 112 heading west and then I pick it up again right at Lost River for about 1/2 mile but then lose it again until I get into downtown Woodsville. Currently I have Sprint and Verizon as cell carriers but also had cingular with the same geographic coverage. When I drove to exit 42 for the 6 years prior to 2004, I again had coverage while on 93 at all points (cingular back then) also.

Snowshoe hunting is good from the season opener in October until the season closes in early spring (March)-- weather permitting. Hare generally begin the gradual transformation from brown to white from late October until their full transformation somewhere near mid December. The sounds of yelping beagles and the sight of a ghostlike snowshoe hare still make the hair stand up on the back of my neck. These hounds get themselves into a frenzy to find game for you. They'll keep the hare moving, giving you an opportunity for a shot. The excitement heightens as you hear the dogs beginning to turn and start your way. There he is!... take him!... If a shot is missed or the hare slides through unseen; don't worry about it, these hounds will bring him back around. These beagles truly make your hunt. They are trained with one purpose; find a rabbit and pursue him until he is harvested.
