Thanks. I've come to realize in the short time I've been on board that you are the repository of all that is known about this case. I have great respect for the thankless task that you have so ably assumed and performed so well.

Of course, you know we'll have to hunt you down like a dirty dog, if you decide to take your ball and go home.

Seriously, many thanks.

Fortunately kettle does not rely on little caricatures to have a clue what's being said. Nor is kettle particularly keeping score.

Until the scoreboard says "1 Maura" we're all losing.

Could it be that the PI's and Fred actually hindered the investigation by questioning everyone until they were sick of answering questions?? After all the questioning that he went through already didn't a PI find out where the SBD retired to and went out of state to find him and to try to question him further?.
And yet SBD was willing to talk to a reporter. I find that interesting.

Could it be that what I've left quoted above about Fred and the PI's "hindering the investigation by questioning everyone until they were sick of answering questions" sounds an awful lot like "blaming the victim's family" ?

Sorry they're sick of answering questions. I bet Fred's even sorrier he still has to ask them.

Not your fault but this has been gone over repeatedly and it is amazing what you can see at night especially after (5 to 15 minutes) your eyes adjust. From someone that has done it many times in the military and on camping and hiking trips.

Can it be obtained from a tooth brush?
How long can samples last?
Example air bag, bottle?
Thanks!
<quoted text>
Blood soaked articles of clothing should be dried, packaged in paper bags and stored in a dry environment. Tubes containing liquids should be sealed and refrigerated. A toothbrush should be handled the same as blood stained clothing and carpeting. Same with an air bag and bottle, assuming you want to preserve saliva residue. If the bottle contains a fluid that you want to preserve, seal and refrigerate. Dried biological stains preserve very well for long periods of time.
Wet stains degrade quickly.

It may be incendiary or nuts, but it also happens to be the truth.
You state this as a fact FireCat. Have you spoken to the locals? Have they talked to you rudely? Have you had a gun pointed at you when you pulled into a driveway?
How do you know it's the truth?

Can someone point out which store Robinsonordways and Winnie were at the night of FEb 09th. I just read in the Hanson Express series that SBD drove down Mountain Lakes, French Pond Road and Stage Stop Store.

I think there is some confusion on my part regarding the convenience store where RO was at?

Curious:

I hope you are right, PI have spoken to some of the witnesses...

Thinking out loud:

It is understandable that the residents of the area tire of being questioned and cast in a bad light..in part this has been due to the silence of the police. I do think that the area residents care about Maura, some of the good people are here with us now and many in spirit. We will get more help with honey than vinegar, and many of the neighbours and locals have given freely and openly of their assistance and hospitality.

Some of the wtinesses have caused confusion by their statements, and there has been confusion associated with the actions of the police and their has been a loss of trust as the time passes.

Maybe the reporter wasn't as rude and intimidating as the PI's.
If the PI's that went around asking questions were as nasty and rude as Detective Columbo is on this forum then I do not blame the locals in the least for not wanting to talk to them.
This "blaming the victims family" statement is getting old. If anyone, family, friends, PI's etc. etc. went around (while the LE were actively investigating Maura's accident and disappearance) questioning the witnesses and neighbors then I would say that most probably they hindered the investigation and more than likely made it harder for the LE to do their job.
Put the blame where ever it belongs.

The only store in the area would be the Stage Stop. You can go up Swiftwater Circle into Mountain Lakes to Valley and then onto French POnd Rd and come out onto 112 right near the Stage Stop. I think some people refer to the Stage Stop as Swiftwater Station also.

The Stage Stop Store is the convenience store that RO walked to.

From time to time people have wondered about the telephone call Maura received Friday morning at 1 am when she was working at the dorm sign-in desk. The call upset her terribly and her supervisor actually walked her back to her dorm and recommended she see a counselor. When the supervisor offered to accompany Maura to her room, Maura declined saying that she didn't want to disturb her roommate. Maura didn't have a roommate, however. Subsequent investigation by campus police revealed that the call was placed by someone within the university system but that person has not been identified. Campus police cryptically said that whomever made the call had "moved on."

The best theory that anyone came up with, as far as I can tell, to explain her sudden decision to leave school for a week and drive north is that maybe Maura took a break from work and went to the store. While she was out driving the Saturn, she struck Petri Vasi in the intersection at Triangle and Matoon streets and fled the scene. Vasi was discovered lying in the street unconscious by the police at 12:30 am, which was 30 minutes before Maura received the terrifying phone call. He was admitted to Bayside Hospital in critical condition with multiple serious head injuries. He was in a coma for a month and when he could speak, he said he recalled nothing about the accident. Perhaps the 1 am phone call was from someone who witnessed the accident and this news sent Maura into her downward spiral.

Here's a post by Advocator (message 1391 @ p. 69) that addresses whether she had an alibi at work and I repost it for the group's consideration

"As to alibi, Maura had her security desk job as an alibi. Supervisors checked the security desk personnel approximately every 20 minutes (according to KMayotte, security supervisor of Maura that night, on the MMM forum). So if Maura did duck out and try to drive somewhere that night, she ran a huge risk of this being discovered.

Also, the entrance to the building where Maura worked was by "key card". These key cards became de-activated at 8:15PM and students had to be buzzed in or otherwise allowed in by someone already inside the building, so if she had left to take a chance and try to run an errand in 20 minutes, someone would have known when she came back because someone else would have had to let her back in."

Food for thought.

You obviously are pathetically acrimonious and bitter towards Detective Columbo, a man who is dedicating his life to try to find out what happened to Maura. You sound so pitiful as you hold a grudge and cry a river about some of the comments he's made to you, and appropriately so. You crying publicly and sounding like a 12-year-old emotionally unstable middle-school-girl that's upset that a group of popular girls called you ugly is not helping whatsoever in finding out what happened to Maura.

You also know NOTHING about the history of how unconscionably detestable the investigation into her disappearance by New Hampshire Law Enforcement has been. Anyone who has researched this case knows how atrociously bad they screwed this entire investigation. Law Enforcement and their wretched investigating are the SOLE reason that the truth behind what happened to Maura is still a mystery, and consequently the reason that every single one of us is still participating in this forum. There are at least a dozen profoundly significant standard procedures that Law Enforcement eschewed in this case and dozens of other avenues that were critically important that they did NOT investigate and will NOT comment on To name just a few, because naming them all would be impossible given the limit is 4000 characters,(a) the blood-stained knife given to Fred by someone who said his brother may have been involved - police received this knife and did NOTHING with it,(b) the carpet samples - same result as part a,(c) phone records - they refuse to release any,(d) witnesses that lived next door that were never interviewed for months and months after the accident,(e) the D.A. claiming in court YEARS AGO that the state was "75% sure" they would arrest someone so that they wouldn't be allowed to release records, yet nothing ever came of that.

The more I read about how disgusting LE screwed this up, the more sick to my stomach I get. There's one of two options that occurred:(a) Local police are directly involved into the disappearance of Maura, or (b) Local police know how atrociously they've compromised this investigation since Day 1 and do not want it to be brought to light.

The family was interviewing witnesses because LAW ENFORCEMENT WAS NOT INTERVIEWING witnesses that lived within a MILE of the scene of the accident. The family was doing the job that LE *SHOULD* have done immediately following the accident. I would have been infinitely more infuriated than the Murray family if I found out the police didn't interview witnesses that lived right next to the scene of the accident.

How in the name of God could you possibly even dare to criticize this family for interviewing witnesses and people in the area after LE did *NOT* do this? Because someone on the forum that works with the family hurt your feelings so now you are vindictive enough to the point where you're going to criticize the family to try and get back at Det. Columbo so you feel better about yourself? Absolutely utterly pathetic.

Mason, do you think Maura may have lied about her roommate because she did not want her supervisor to see that she had boxes packed up? I have often wondered what day she boxed up her belongings.
