Excuse me, but the thought has occurred to me that this family is more concerned about its image than finding out what happened to Maura and, if that's true, maybe she ran away to escape the spiritual desert of growing up in a family that values image over substance and a parent or parents who are so controlling that they try to micromanage ever detail of their children's lives so that they produce perfect little Stepford children who excel at everything they do and are a real credit to their parents.
Whoa Dude,

Most families of the missing are advised by their attorneys not to talk to the public or the press. Maura's extended family has graciously extended themselves to so many of us over the years and have shared more information than I could ever ask for or expect.

They even went so far as to extent themselves to the countless other families of the missing and murdered throughout New England.

Keeping up appearances, WTF!!!!!!!. That couldn't be further from the truth.

Hello all,
So if this information is correct, then Maura (and/or her cell phone) would likely have been travelling up the I-93 from eastern MA into NH towards Lincoln, NH.
If so, did Maura (or at least the driver of her Saturn) in fact exit the I-93 at Lincoln/North Woodstock in order to continue on NH Rte 112 west from Lincoln towards Swiftwater/Haverhill?
Can we draw such a possible conclusion here, at least as a kind of working hypothesis???
It would seem that way but the vehicle oculd've also gone up 93 to 89 to the Haverhill area too. I don't know how the time frame would fit....I think that maybe the phone and the saturn were apart from each other. Londonderry is about 2 hours from Haverhill.

Any calls to Maura would have gone through her Sprint carrier, they searched the Sprint tower records for calls to her and found someone tried her number, and that phone pinged the Londonderry tower within a 20 mile radius.
right---the call pinged the tower that maura was closest too

"With all due respect, cop shows up at minor mva witness says she turned down his offer to call pd. no obvious sign of struggle seen or reported by nearby residents. alcohol in car. no tracks into snow. report states. search of roadway assisted by fd and ems. cop will depend on experience and is judged by weather he did what was reasonable. easy to look back with 20/20 hindsight. But with out 20/20 hindsight you may be a little harsh"
EXPERIENCE......CS seems to not have enough, in my opinion. He was even quoted as saying " I did not search that night because I do not know the area very well. How long had CS worked for Haverhill PD at the time of Maura's acc./disappearance?
This seems to be true as a witness states they were passed by him on Goose lane headed to the scene and when same witness got to the intersection of French Pond rd. and 112, he came by the witness again coming eastbond on 112 towards the scene. This means when he came to the intersection he turned the wrong way and headed west towards 302 rather than east towards the acc. scene.
I was unaware of that quote. I still think you look at situation thru 20/20 hindsight.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the Red Cross calling card that called her boyfriend's phone? Is there any way this card could have been carried in her wallet for emergencies? I always carried a calling card on road trips in college even though I had a cell.
That phone call has NOT been definitively traced to the Red Cross. AT&T has told the family that unless they have the PIN (which is on the back of the card) it's a dead end. Billy did PLACE some calls through the Red Cross around that time, as they were helping Sharon coordinate his emergency leave. But the origin of that call that Billy believes was Maura has NOT been definitively determined.

Looking4amoose,

You´re absolutely right, of course. There are many other, alternative routes which may have been possible.
Even so, it would seem that Maura and/or her cellphone came up the I-93 from eastern MA into NH, rather than the I-91 north from Amherst,MA, into Vermont as has been indicated as the most likely route before.
The I-93 once again reminds me of the purported visions described on the web site "Brian´s Predictions", which specifically mention the I-93 and West Thornton, located on the I-93 south of Lincoln/North Woodstock.

Again, it is possible he turned left on Cemetary from Goose to get to 112 just a bit further West than the Stage Stop--and would thus be heading east on 112.

Are there more details about the a-frame? I've read conflicting things here about whether or not the tests from the carpet samples have been completed. Mr. Murray was quoted as saying this lead has been "debunked." But to me, when several cadaver dogs go bonkers, regardless of the connection to Maura, there's an obligation to investigate further. Could they have been reacting to the former presence of an animal carcass (perhaps resident was a hunter or a raccoon had expired there after the house had been abandoned, etc.) or can we assume the presence of a human body? Also regarding the resident(s) of the a-frame in 2004, do we know if any of them owned a truck? did they smoke? By any chance, was a resident the brother of the man who presented the knife? Longshot b/c it's almost too obvious but has all this been definitively dismissed? When and why did they move out? Perhaps they felt things were heating up at the time?

NO BIG DEAL......A person was there and then they were gone.
So this is why the investigation that night was so sloppy...they did not pay attention.
This explains alot.
Don't jump on me Columbo and put words in my mouth. I wasn't talking about the police.
The people that live here in the mountains see cars off the road all the time. It is not an uncommon occurance on these winding and mountainous roads in the winter. It is also not uncommon for the police to come and find no one in the car.
If the people noticed the car off the road from their windows and could have predicted the driver would disappear I'm sure "they" would have paid closer attention.
It is your opinion that the investigation was sloppy. Some feel that everything that could and should have been done that night was.
You still haven't answered my question that I asked you a few pages back so I'll ask again.

It sure would be great if we could get a date for the month and the year the search warrant was executed.

Hi Pointer,

I can answer one of your questions. I posted the quote from the Manchester Union Leader on MMM regarding Mr. Murray's statement about the A-Frame being debunked.

I received an immediate reply from the moderator stating that Mr. Murray never made that statement.

Pointer.....Without going thru page after page of this forum, I believe Shack stated that the blood was actually found to be menstrual fluid. I don't know where that information was originally published though.

I don't think think Moulton moved out voluntarily...I think he was evicted.

Pointer--I have also wondered about the A frame house and the cadaver dogs. Was this house occupied at that time? I've also wondered if the occupant was the brother of the man who came forward with the bloody knife. Why have we not heard about the stained carpet and if any DNA testing has been done on it?

Maybe Maura would be with her family right now if she felt comfortable enough with them to tell them what was so bad that she had to run to the mountains in NH.
Maybe she would be home if she had excepted the help offered that night or at least walked to one of the well lit and warm houses in plain site.
Maybe a lot of things might have changed what happened to Maura but to blame the neighbors and LE for her disappearing is disgusting.

Most people up here pay particular attention to something happening right in their back yard. I am certainly surprised that nobody saw where Maura went after the SBD left the scene. It seems odd to me that someone does not know which way she went or if she was picked up.

Thank you. My questions in my above post now seem even more important, if only to rule out another possibility. I'm sure I'm one of several folks, including Mr. Murray, to have asked them; I doubt I'm asking anything groundbreaking. But if anyone can answer these questions I'm sure I'm not the only one interested to hear. Again, if only to rule out yet another possibility.

I agree Wowzer--I travel 112 often and frequently see out of state cars or trucks pulled off to the side with no one present in or around them. Does that give me cause to even think twice? No....I've done it myself moose, bear and deer watching and simply going on an adventure with the dog.....
