to me it seems very much like you are blaming someone specifically 1st po on scene. Once again it is very easy to make all the right calls after the facts come out. not saying what was done was wrong or right. what I'm saying is, is what was done unreasonable given the facts at time. not what is know now. if po knows then what we know now call out the national guard, but he didn't.

True. Could Maura have been involved with someone who borrowed her car, had the hit and run accident, and then lured her away to "tie up loose ends"? Agreed to meet her in NH (hence the ping from VT, perhaps he lived or worked near there, or perhaps he went to UMass but had or claimed to have some reason to be in near west NH that day)? Might help to explain the rag in the tailpipe.
Trying to stay on post but still hoping someone can answer my questions a few pages back regarding the carpet, dogs, etc...

Maura could have even suggested NH after he explained what whappened and she was sympathetic, not knowing he was planning something deadly.
