Peri--I think I can answer some of your questions of the area around the A frame etc. The A frame is on the left as you go up Valley toward Swiftwater Circle--Lodge Lane goes off to the right immediately before the A frame. There is a stream/brook that runs to the right of Lodge Lane behind the tennis courts--up a little further on the right (at the base of the ski area) there is a pond like gathering of water where the ski lift base was located. There are several brooks in that immediate area and up the mountian that feed into it. There is a large brook that is on the right of the ski area (it's pretty cold in February---I ended up in it last year when I flipped the snowmonile!) There's also a pretty large brook that runs beneath Valley as you go towards French Pond, it runs through someone's property that is on Gateway.
Behind the A frame to the right it a wet area that was supposed ot be converted into a third man made lake in Mtn Lakes. It hasn't happened yet though but it seems to get bigger and deeper each year---its home to a lot of wildlife right now. As far as diving etc...I know the larger man made lage has been drained completley within the past two years and the bottom cleaned out. The smaller one was drained of some water but I don't know if the bottom was cleared. French Pond is also nearby--I don't know if any divers have gone in there--I'm not sure how deep it is. |

I checked further--there is no clinical attachment for Umass to either of the places you've mentioned. Peri......is it possible that the Pedi books were just in the car because that was her next scheduled clinical rotation after maternal/newborn? I typically bought all my books at the beginning of the semester so that I could attempt to get some advanced reading done when possible. |
Hahahahaha......indeed. |

Moose, nice description of the area around, although it must have been shocking to have landed in the brook by the Lodge! Peri, I was going through some old exchanges with you that go way back, I was renewed in their reading. Thank you. |

Thank You Moose...
Your description of the area is perfect to a "T". Saved my fingers from the keyboard...! |

Judged: 2 2 1 "famous" either...members of CCSAR and a few (2?) locals..(one was first name Bxxxx) I know you remember that I was there with dog biscuits that weekend. I still remember wondering, as others, why one member of HPD didn't at least make a good faith cameo appearance for that search. |

I also meant to add that it is possible that she was hoping to rent a place up here in Mtn Lakes but not probable. Only about 1/3 of the houses are actually inhabitted full time--the rest are second homes or short term rentals for vacaitoners. There isn't one rental agent for the area though--there are many and some of us don't use one at all so arrangements would definitely have to be made ahead of time.
Seeker, I sense that you frequent the area also? |

Interesting that Seeker and Moose mentioned Landaff because another area I think ought to be searched is South Landaff Road. I realize that Landaff is a town farther north on the 302, but I was struck nevertheless by the coincidence in the name. South Landaff Road intersects Rte 112 at two locations. The westernmost location is just past the bridge over the 112 where the 112 switches from running along the south side of the Wild Ammonoosuc River to running along the northside of the river. South Landaff Road loops around and hooks back up to the 112 a little over a mile farther east. Just beyond that is another area that looks promising -- Bowen Brook Road.
Searching the area along these roads depends on whether they are accessible during the winter. Accessible to a person attempting to dispose of a body, that is. |

I love it here and will never move away. NH forever.!
