The westernmost location is just past the bridge over the 112 where the 112 switches from running along the south side of the Wild Ammonoosuc River to running along the northside of the river. South Landaff Road loops around and hooks back up to the 112 a little over a mile farther east. Just beyond that is another area that looks promising -- Bowen Brook Road. Searching the area along these roads depends on whether they are accessible during the winter. Accessible to a person attempting to dispose of a body, that is. The problem with suggesting places to search is that if they find something, then the police are going to start asking questions of the person who recommended the search location. I would love to mention a place in Northampton, based not just on Google maps but on other information, too. But searching is expensive, tedious, and time consuming even before an actual search begins. There would have to be a good reason in addition to "it's a good place to dump a body." It would have to be a good place to dispose of a body in February and be near where she was headed that night or killed or whatever. For example, if Maura was going to a person's apartment in Northampton Sunday or Monday night, then it might be that there was some very sandy terrain near the apartment that was not frozen. Or there might be a river near the apartment that was not frozen. Something like that. Or is she was killed, maybe it happened at a house near Kennedy. Just speculating, of course.

Speaking of Molly... Of what interest would it be if there were repeated calls coming from inmate phones at the Worcester County House of Correction to an ex-priest convicted of having raped two girls, and then the rapist repeatedly calls a member of a search and rescue team endorsed by John Bish - at the same time Molly Bish's bathing suit was found.
Isn't this the kind of thing LE would find potentially useful?

These two roads aren't maintained in the winter. There are several narrow dirt roads off of 112 and 116. They are not accessible in the winter though.

Mason -
One of the reasons I was drawn to this case was because, while I'm not from the area, I've hiked along S. Landaff Rd a number of times over the past few years because of the ruins of the small village community that used to exist there.
The "road" now isn't much more than a logging / snowmobile path. While it's still cleared, it's not paved / accessible by on-road vehicles at any time of the year (there's a locked gate that blocks the entrance). It's still a place worth checking (I'd bet strongly that Fred or others have already been up and down it for anything obvious, since it's an easy hike); figured it's worth mentioning for a level of detail that the maps can't provide.
I do find it interesting that it's still registered as a "real" road under Google Maps.

You should be ashamed to post a link to where everyone can see what a nasty and vulgar mouth you have. I wonder what Shack thinks about you speaking for her and trying to cause more friction on your #15 post. This forum is for Maura Murray and I will not reply any further to anything that doesn't pertain to her.

I do find it interesting that it's still registered as a "real" road under Google Maps. I'm making several assumptions when I recommend a place to be searched. 1. Maura was driving the Saturn when it crashed on Rte 112 approximately 125 yards past the Weathered Barn. This assumption might be wrong because the SBD is the only person who identified her as the driver and he was not certain that the woman he saw behind the wheel was the same woman in a photograph of Maura Murray. 2. Maura Murray was murdered. This assumption is based on the first assumption and further assumes that Maura Murray did not intend to start a new life somewhere else either alone or with another person. It also assumes that she hitched a ride with someone who intended to kill her. 3. Maura was murdered by this person at an unknown location within a few miles of the scene of the accident and the person who killed her disposed of her body at night by dumping it within 10 to 20 yards from a road accessible by a 4x4 type vehicle in February such as a pickup in which a dead body could be concealed. People who are familiar with the area in the winter are in a much better position than I am with just my maps to pick out possible sites to search. It's a matter of putting yourself in the killer's situation and figuring out where you would go to hide a body and what you would do to reduce, if not eliminate the risk of being seen and remembered as having acted suspiciously.

Hitched a ride...?? Given the time and place of the accident, would she have been likely to hitch a ride with some passing motorist? What alternatives were there as regards houses showing lights in the area or distance to nearest town? Would a woman in such a situation accept a ride from only a trustworthy person such as passing police officer or tow truck driver or ambulance driver or fireman or something like that? Didn't she have a cell phone with her?

Wowzer, it might help you to know that the person on the attack is very likely the one who has closely affiliated herself with King...and did so in a very open manner at Floyd's trial on 4/15. Indeed, there is a working relationship/friendship here at this Topix MM site between King, this particular female poster using many, many monikers, a detective who posts here, and possibly a so-called "duck". Knowing how vulgar and crude this person can be, I trust you will ignore her and disregard her posts...and I'd encourage others to do the same...as she wants attention and fully intends to be disruptive. Further, the "duck" may have been misled...and I believe that will become evident to her/him, in time. Let's hope the detective, too, will choose to move away from the nonsense, if he hasn't already done so. The poor behavior reflects badly on anyone associated with these people.

Didn't she have a cell phone with her? As in Mason's point #1, previous post...it needs to be assumed that Maura was indeed behind the wheel of her Saturn (or even riding as a passenger) to consider she might have hitched a ride when the Saturn was disabled by an accident (or two). Cell phone service, from what I understand, is spotty to non-existent at those locations...which is not surprising to me. It's not uncommon to accept a ride from a tow truck driver or even a passer-by who is offering help under these circumstances. Maura might have done so.

Still can't uderstand why there are a few posters from the Haverhill area, where the Saturn was found; many more posters from well outside the area (even outside the country); and almost no posters from the Amherst area, where she was last seen. And no posters who knew her, even slightly. Not even Helena had ever met Maura. The amount of non-information - non-everything - is staggering. Which leads one to believe that this thread and the new forum must be viewed by someone as at least potentially helpful. Otherwise, it's a lot of work for what has produced, as far as the general public knows, absolutely nothing. Thousands of posts on the old MMM site, over 10,000 posts on this site, and now a new site. After five years, the discussion has not really changed much at all. Almost no one posts any useful information that moves anything ahead. But the bashing and anger continue unabated.
