This might have been brought up a million times but is it possible that when Marua informed her teachers that she would be leaving school due to a death in the family that the death would be her own?

But if she was going off to commit suicide or run away, the police and detectives and PI's would be looking in another direction, and they are looking for a perpetrator involved in Maura's disappearance.

It is not uncommon in the Nursing profession while studing and doing duty to lie to get time off, that is the way it is. As a student, more grandmother's and grandfather's died, and aunts and uncles than a leopard has spots. And on duty,
sometimes over holidays, the same mother or father lay on deaths door year after year after year.

If you are scheduled for clincial there is no acceptable excuse that you not be present, sickness and death is all that there is to choose from, and if you are looking for a week off, death is the only excuse, else the University would likely require a Doctor's certificate if you were out that long. I had to get doctor's notes while at Nursing School for just missing classes, no clinicals just classes...

UMASS wrote something very intereseting on the other site. Since Maura knew that area like the back of her hand - even her dad has said so. Why on earth would she google/map qwest directions?? Maybe that is why they wanted the PC back? They realised it was probably not her that did it. She already knew how to get there..... food for thought

Looking-4-moose provided information as to what the geograph looks like. I'm starting to get a fair idea. Thanks so much for that. If you are by there again sometime can you give me a description of the road leading up to the A-frame from Valley Road, and if you were looking up from Lodge lane what it would look like.

I am very curious now what the area looks like where Pauline was found,

and the back of the a-frame...really the whole area intrigues me (not in a good way) as a point of interest and has always done, simply because of where the school bus driver headed, figuring this likely then where all the visitors headed to for holiday.

White Wash the photo's you sent me a couple of years ago on line, are any of these this point of interest....

I have experienced two visions of the area, and one dream, the other day had a pschometry experience when I examined the windshield of the Saturn with the cracks outlined.

first flash: only a second, Maura is in the driver's seat, looking backwards at a large man (which we know to be the bus driver, but did not
know he was large then...the car is in a ditch, passengers side very slanted, half on and half off the road...the area is on a rise, it is at a T in the street, there are woods all around, the road is white in front, it slants downwards, nothing appears to be ahead but woods, the car is headed down the lone road. She is asking for directions. She looks over her left shoulder...
the man's house is within walking distance over to her right on a hill. There appears to be water near by infront of the house and unseen at this point...(here is the interesting part) Maura exits from the passengers door and appears over a car seemily covered with snow, get no idea the car is black and don't really see her just that perhaps she is trying to get out that side of the car. Man appears to be dressed in black, perhaps a beige cotton jacket over other clothes, has hat on...do not see face or hair?

I think this is very fitting to Maura's case.

several days later, have a vision, longer than a flash...Maura talking and moving in this this general area, but now she is in an open area at the bottom of a hill, almost like in a valley or gulley, the hills are higher on one side, rocky terrain, the other side slopes downwards towards a valley and hills are seen in the distance, appalachian hill types, steep on the side she is on, at least in appearance as they are closer.
The car appears to be parked on a frozen pond, marsh, bog, lake, the car is completely covered, Maura comes storming out of the car again from the passengers side, everything is snow covered, ironically it is daytime, the above flash as well occurs in the daytime.

The car is not seen, a mound in the snow, Maura seems inappropriately dressed no coat on, a beige, or white sweater, don't really see her legs, or they are light too, perhaps she has on jeans, but I do not get the feeling she has on a coat, and definately not boots, no hat, no gloves, hair down.. she is angry and is marching with hands clenched as she walks, she walks to the low level in the road, there are guard rails, there is a man, a very large man, all in black this time, hat on, cannot see his face, but see his shoes,
gum shoes, like detectives, hit men wear, soft soles...Maura states very clearly, you did that on purpose...the man is explaining himself, and looks at his feet the whole time, he is shifting his weight from one foot to the other...like playing in the snow with his feet, Maura is still angry as he explains himself, there is no vehicle in site, get the vague idea there is a car about ahead, but a strong feeling of a black car behind...unseen

the large man walks up the hill, Maura behind, they are heading to his house, the same house as the original flash, don't see a "T"in the road, just a straight road up a steep hill, the road then curves unseen, colvert, brook near, water running somewhere...

As Maura is walking behind towards the house that appears to look like a stockage, out of wood, there is an out building or garage on right, but it is in the distance, the man turns around and looks at Maura with one eye, but his eyes are looking beyond her, suddenely a man appears from behind, it is now dark in the vision....the vision then goes black/blank.

I believe these places are close to one another...

vision has sometime later, after the story of the red truck was published re: Robinsonordways report of seeing a red truck the driver acting mysteriously, she reported this to the police later, and later to the media, and she posted on the Maura Murray Forum, and she is quoted here on this topix often....

at the time of the vision this information was discounted as relevant by the police at least in R.O. view....

the vision

Maura is sitting infront of an old store, very old, there are old fashioned green metal lights shaped sort of like a flying saucer, she is sitting under the lights examining a map, she is straining to see it is completely dark...

there appears to be no one about, no people coming and going....

to the far left of the parking lot, driveway shaped like a horse shoe, drive in and drive out... there is a truck, colour unknown, not red, or noticeably red, if I said any colour it would be green, but truthfully don't really see colour of truck, it is not new and shinny, it is in the shadow of the lights, he is watching Maura in the car, across the street from the store is nothing, it is very dark, can see trees in the distance and behind...no cars are passing on the road, none

Maura leaves where she is parked, stops and heads right, she does not see the truck, the truck pulls out after, she does not realize, on the right not too near there are a few lights coming from houses but it is very very dark...the vision finishes..

I assume this to be the stage stop store, however in the vision she turns right, and not left as she likely did in reality, whether she came via Goose Lane road or down 112 west, or 112 east or from Swiftwater, do not know, never have a vision of Maura driving, only this one time....never on a large highway

dream, only one thank the high heavens, dreams are brutal way of seeing things, cannot stop them at will like in a vision...if the vision is scary you simply stop thinking about it, but a dream wow these are scary things, guess should call them nightmares.

I am walking in the woods, there is a clearing somewhere but can not remember what it looks like, as I am looking downwards, following a path, mostly tall trees below, get on a side path, the brush is thicker and in behind the trees see shorter but there are tall trees to, some maple, majority spruce, pine of somekind...

there is water below, lake, pond, don't think it is a river, area reminds me of camp ground, as come to an area, where the trees are in a semi-circle, a skull jumps out of the circular area and begins spilling around an around, what appears to be a camp fire, rocks in circle, maybe a rock grave, she is screaming Help, Me! over and over, clumps of brownish red faded hair are over the skeleton, the back of the skull to one side, maybe right has a whole, I am terrified, and ask who are you?

I awoke and was thinking of Maura and on my lips is the question, where are you?

Have tried on several occassions to try and go further with this dream, to no avail.

very recently was examining the pictures of the accident site, the front windshield outlined in red, well I croped the red area spider cracks, blew this up, several times, played with the colouring and saturation, and don't really know all that I did, but it was looking very red and yellow by the time I finished, I could see very plainly in the car, and was looking for wine stains and analyzing the cracks and the pattern they created. There sat a man in the passengers seat, no seat belt on, facing towards the driver, difficult to tell the colour, maybe green, cotton hunting jacket on, with hat, his hair is not short but not too long, about 25-45 years of age, because of the shading, he had reddish, blonish, or light brown hair, a mustache, well trimmed, pleasant looking, but dangerous. He looks to be about the same height as Maura, maybe a tad taller, he is not fat more small than fat. He looks likely enough, and for a moment thought perhaps he was a friend, but he is grabbing Maura with is left hand while his right hand wrist is slamed into the windsheild. It is almost as if the cracks have held the image of what this person looks like. I have seen the type of jacket before, men were them hear, work jackets, hunting jackets, very plane, hat is plane, near the colour of the coat, it is possible the coat is red or rest, the whole picture is red and yellow...

I know all this sounds and likely is nuts, but what can I say, just be happy this stuff doesn't happen to you...

whether any of the above few posts are helpful, it is not to say, certainly, I mean no malice, I have no idea who the other people were in the vision....

why keep it in, I am not accusing anyone of anything, and besides if the description matches anyone in the area or a person of interest, it is impossible for me to have forknowledge of what they looked like...or whatever...

Yes. Did anyone actually see her on the day of her alleged disapperance Monday February 9, 2004? A camera at a liquor store that may or may not exist? A student in a dorm that doesn't even know for sure what time he saw her?

It would be SOP to show the video to anyone who knew Maura to determine if the person viewing the video could confirm the identity of the person in the video.

I can't recall where I read this, but I recall thinking there were two videos. One was recorded at the ATM machine and the other at the liquor store. I don't recall reading that either video was shown to anyone. I only recall a conclusory type sentence to the effect that Maura was alone, presumably because no one else was visible. I also recall reading that the Saturn was not visible in the videos.

I do not recall reading where the ATM and the liquor store were located, and I do not recall who identified her in the videos. Having looked at convenience store and bank videos in cases that I've worked on, I can truthfully say that I'm amazed anyone can positively identify someone in one of those videos, particularly if the person is wearing bulky clothes, a hat, and dark glasses.

I should have added that I haven't seen the videos so I don't know how the person was dressed.

My point is that it would be relatively easy for someone who resembled Maura to be mistaken for her if she wore bulky clothes, a hat, and dark glasses, given the generally poor quality of store and bank videos.

Hello peripeteia,

Your description of the ancient store in your vision made me think of the famous old Brick Store in Bath, NH, on Route 302/10 between Woodsville and Lisbon.
This is just a few miles north of the intersection between Route 302/10 and Route 112.

It was reported on this board, I believe, that her sister said the video didn't exist. I haven't seen it, and I haven't heard of anyone else who actually saw it. However, if it did exist, I imagine it would have been shown at least on a local news station when it was discovered. Never read anything, anywhere, of anyone ever seeing this video. I remain skeptical in regards to a video showing Maura purchasing liquor the day of her disapperance. I'm not saying it didn't happen, but I grow more skeptical of the so-called "facts" of this case with each passing day.
