Yes, Fred, I understand your point and I will seek out the photos. Because, if I follow, the only way to work it out under my theory, given the damage to the car at 112 and OPR, is to then say that there were THREE accidents involving Maura in the Saturn and one more involving her in her dad's car.
This is why I referred, indelicately I might add, to Maura as a driver in a weekend auto crash derby.

Yeah, I got slammed for that too.

Yeah, I deserved it.

But the bottom line is she had to be mega mega upset about something and whatever that something was, she apparently did not tell any of her friends or family what it was. It also drove her to ditch school for a semester because she was taking clinicals that she could not make up. And, she drove a car that she had refused to drive because it was mechanically unsound (apparently only 3 of 4 cylinders functioning).

That's one desperate young lady carrying a terrible burden that she could not dare share with her fiance or a best girlfriend.

I think we can solve this case, if we can figure out what that was.

She may not have been pregnant by another man, but that is the sort of situation that might cause a young woman in her situation to shoulder the burden of deciding what to do by herself, particularly if she had strong religious, ethical, or moral beliefs against abortion.

I don't know if she did.

I've been looking for some dilemma that would qualify as a potential explanation for her behavior,

AND

as a possible motive for someone to kill her.

This is what led me to guess that she may have had an affair or a one-night stand with an older married man.

I have no idea whether she did, but it's a possible explanation.

Vasi himself was on this forum and stated that he did not know Maura and has no memory of the event.

No offense, but I don't understand that that question means.

Also, why did you take out a line of my message from the quoted material. Not suggesting anything sinister or accusing you of anything, it jsut seems odd.

again, more worrisome to be accused of a hit and run with critical injury to a pedestrian, and more important to resolve, than admitting to another relationship to her nearly-betrothed, billy.

This is a good post Fred and I agree with much of it. I would add only that I don't think the situation had to be as dramatic as pregnancy to bind her in confusion and conflicted emotions. She was only 21. She probably would have felt intense guilt over an affair, toward both dad and Rausch. An affair, in and of itself, might had led to the bizarre behavior and upset.

Somehow, I think - however - that what got her to 112 and OPL, on the one hand, may be totally different than the trouble that led to her disappearance. The latter, I feel, was just wrong place wrong time under bad, perhaps desparate circumstances that colored her judgment.

Not sure why I think that. Think might be too strong a word. Its just what I am chewing on at the moment.

Vasi posted and said that he did not know Maura, never met her, never even heard of her. And he has no memory of what hapened to him. Amherst LE still have his clothes and his hit and run is still considered an "open case". I believe his clothes have never been tested for paint chips and/or glass fragments.

Yes, I did not believe that he was an attorney. I thought he was saying he taught law in Seattle. I wanted to see if he said U Dub as that is where I went and I would be able to easily discover if he were lying about that. But the group seems to believe that he is in fact a lawyer, so perhaps I will shut my cynical ass up.
John,

I don't know when you attended the U DUB, but I co-founded Innocence Project Northwest there with Professor Jackie McMurtrie in 1997. I recruited the 40 lawyers in private practice and I organized the lawyers and law students into teams that represented pro bono 17 innocent people who were wrongfully convicted in the Wenatchee Sex Ring witch hunt prosecutions in the early to mid-nineties. Jackie supervised their work.

As I replied to Anne, how do you know it was really him?

Did he by any chance mention a vast pro-life conspiracy?:)(just kiding Beagle)

Paris, who has not posted here in a long time developed a friendly relationship with him and invited him to appear on this forum, which he agreed to do. I think everyone who read his posts believes he's an extraordinary insightful and peaceful human being who harbors no ill will against anyone.

Paris has been involved in this case since shortly after Maura disappeared and she has participated in some of the searches. She was a good friend of Beth, AKA SilkyBoxer, who unfortunately passed away awhile ago.

As you get more deeply into this case, you will see references to Beth. Seems like she was a tireless angel of mercy who had dedicated her life to finding missing people.

I wish I had met her.

Actually, it's a deceptively simple question. Did you see her at her security post? Presumable answer: no, you didn't see her. Do you know where the security desk in Melville was in relation to the building's entrance? In fact, literally, a lot of people did not see Maura at her post that night; a fact that is always true, but it does not mean she wasn't there. Did you see her at her post Thursday night? No. Did I see her at her post Thursday night? No. It's not as though the story and the event happened at the same time, which is what Snowy's earlier chronology problem was. People seem to think of the timeline of the events happening in Amherst between Thursday night and Monday night as if they were one with their reconstruction. How much time passed between Thursday night and the time the events of Thursday night were publically known?

No problem. Nothing sinister inferred. Just keeping and thereby emphasizing the exact phrase or sentence I want to zero in on. Not trying to trim relevant context, just the fat.

More worrisome for Maura to be accused? How could Maura be confidently and successfully accused?

I was there 92-95. I knew Jackie McMurtrey, but not well. She was teaching there then but had only graduated a short time before.

Enough said, your credibility is established. My apologies for having doubted your claim of being an attorney.

Go back and look at the posts. Maybe it was him; I certainly had my doubts. But that's me. All conspiracy all the time.

(I don't suppose anyone remembers 10 10 WINS New York? When they played music?)
