Dawn who is tracking the IP addresses on the other site? Do you have any idea how dangerous it is for someone to be identified on a public forum.
IP addresses don't just show up on PM's. Someone has to go in and get the IP address and then go to the trouble of tracing it.

So, is it the opponents of abortion that are so interested in Maura's disappearance? Or the chemists, mostly specialists in food chemistry? Because there sure is a big overlap between these two groups.

I am under the impression (although I don't know) that a rag in a tail pipe would not stop smoke from being emitted by the car. It would either find its way out of the tail pipe or come up through the hood (or through a hole in the exhaust system). But maybe it would diffuse the smoke enough to diquise it, so I see your point.

As a matter of policy, I disregard everything that Fred and Beagle say because they are proven, non-credible sources. But perhaps that thought, now validated by you has some merit.

Despite this, my guess - and that's all it is and all it is worth - remains that the rag in the tail piple suggests she was not alone. For now. We'll see how I feel as I continue to think through the ideas and facts.

Sorry Johnny ... I am an idiot. There is one big ass difference between Fred Murray and the fake Fred Leaterman. Nonetheless, most of my points remain, although even more food for more though given that Murray is the source. Thanks for sharing the info.

Wowzer, I understand your concern, but I respectfully disagree with you. Mason put his own alleged identify into the discussion by using it support some pretty far out ideas. He did this repeated times and his credibility was shaky. My tracking down the facts, Dawn has done a serice to the forum and to the real Fred L. I don't think there is any reason to think that Dawn is trying to identify posters who do not - as Fred did - posit a specific, real world, somewhat well known identify.

For what its worth, I wonder if Mason's ISP has been blocked from this sight. I flagged some of his more offensive posts (like those bashing homosexuality) for review.

Thought of another way ... if I said I was Ann Rule posting here and I said some really crazy things, and another poster identified that I am not Ann Rule, good for the forum, good for Anne Rule. There would be an issue if the sleuthing poster tracked down my real identity, but tracking down that I am not Anne Rule would be a good thing.

Please see my earlier post. Mason brought that on himself with his incredible claim of being Fred Leatherman. All Dawn did was debunk that often offered lie (which was offered to legimate false and bogus information). She did not learn Mason's true identity or post it. She simply showed conclusivelly that Mason was imitating a semi well known person. Good for the forum, good for the real Fred Leatherman and no harm to anyone except that dangeros psycho posing as the real Fred L.
