to my recollection, Shack has pointed out to this audience, more than once, that Fred Murray made a disparaging comment to her about her physical appearance. the reported comment was obviously unexpected, and possibly painful, as mention of it has sparked discussion.

i once vigorously objected to word "jerk" as applied to FM...defending him as a grieving father, and in doing so, excusing his reported behaviors while searching for his daughter in northern NH.

in the past, i have also vigorously objected to viewing and examining the lives of the Murray family on this or any forum, as such a practice, although mainstream in the media may be considered morally reprehensible.
while tragedy is a common theme in the media these days, an in-depth examination of the lives of strangers is flaunted daily by personalities in for-profit media outlets...whores, in fact.

and yet, my personal, stated objections have never impacted the discussions here. the debate rages on, and participation has not measurably decreased.

today, the ducks dance around each other...and Fred's reportedly obnoxious behavior...excusing and dismissing such behavior in the name of his grief, as i once did.
mind you, Fred Murray is not known to many who defend or observe him. he has merely become a public figure by the tragedy of his daughter's disappearance.

of course, Maura's disappearance IS largely represented by her father's public appearances and statements, and especially in the area where she is presumed to have gone missing in NH.

it has been advised on 21forum that FM will never read or reply here or there, and yet a band of strangers debate...defend/protect or question/accuse him by the evidence of his observable behaviors in interacting with not only local residents in NH, but also with those who desire to help him, such as Shack.

once again, what are the 'facts' of his reportedly obnoxious behaviors? can anyone verify such information...or are there just rumors? WW, do you know? you're "local".

FM's statements that have been recorded by reporters, but are now being reinterpreted by his faithful "supporters".
FL/Mason has been trying to establish the inconsistencies of FM's public statements. fair enough.

do FM's supporters merely maintain a generalized belief in empathy and compassion, and are projecting their grief, tragedy, loss and the mystery in their own lives by identifying with this father, this stranger?

or

has it been a point well made that grief is not an excuse for rudeness, and FM is responsible and accountable for the impression he leaves behind in the very serious matter of his daughter's disappearance?

you decide.

oh...and my position about re-opening conversations about the "18 red herrings" is that to do so will only provide another 5-10 years of 24/7 fodder, without substantiated facts to prove or disprove the theories that have been brought forward to date.

there is no point of consensus.

the "18 red herrings" have been collected and documented for safe-keeping until new information surfaces.

if, by posting to this or related forums, two or more people feel their lives at risk, then the obvious solution would be to bring the matter to authorities and/or stop posting.
otherwise, the concept of targeted violence seems unthinkable and difficult to grasp...and, further, questionable as to whether it exists.

Ah. See, I was thinking of an actual, functional well that was made of stone and attached to a hole in the ground. Got it.

I saw Fred Murray at the 06 Search.
I voted to interview Helena vs Fred
cause she seem to be more involved with
the actual facts.
So I have never personally met Fred Murray.
I have family members who have had business
dealings with him and I have family members
who met w/him and the PI at the time cause
they are officiers of the Fire Dept and
where on the site that night.
I have spoken with Wini and others neighbors,
and I have a friend who was the bartender at
one of the local watering holes as well as
friends who own another family restaurant.
With that said I would say most had the
same experience as Shack with Mr. Murray.
I have also said this area is full of single
mom's to start a PANIC of a serial killer only
drove those who possible had information deeper
into being quite.
Like Atwood peole stepped up to help and look
at what has happened to them.
Most will help the Law but refuse to add to the
public circus effect that has been created.
Many feel that the PI's and family have caused
harm vs helped the case.
CW had a girlfriend a certain PI was as proud
as a peacock having exposed every tit bit he
could to her false or not. She received so much hassle from the PI's
to the media she left him.
I once got turned out out there and ended up on
CW doorstep was very nice to me as he is to his
neighbors or was sure because of the public beatings he keeps even more to himself than he
already did.
I didn't call Fred Murray when I went to HPD for
their actual time line cause I knew he now only
meet w/Press that states his views.
Typical Fred Murray move instead of calling me
he gets the Hanson Express who didn't verify it's
information to run his SOAP BOX VIEW OF WHITE WASH these facts and information came directly
from HPD since Fred didn't believe he had received
the information which IMO he had he choose not
to believe it!
So we are where we are "cause it's the middle of no where" according to Fred Murray.
I would like to also point out there have been some other very high profile crimes in the area
that those families choose to let the area do
it's thing despite not be fast enough for results
you still do not see grieving families behaving poorly.

You have helped my understanding, and I hope others will also take away some firsthand knowledge of the effects you describe to residents and to the accused who happened to live in the general area of Haverhill, NH at the time of Maura's car being found, and her subsequent disappearance.
Each of us can draw our own conclusions as to how we justify our presence here, how we help or hinder the process of law enforcement, and how we can prevent further disruption and anguish to individuals and communities.
By my distant view, it is amazing how one incident can ripple through the lives of so many, and it seems, in not a very good way.

Just thinking ........ It is Maura's birthday next week..........

If you check the other site and think about what has been reported - one cannot honestly come to any conclusions about it - that is if you believe everyone is telling the truth. All I know is that almost nothing makes sense and most of the testimony is at odds with other accounts.

Its obvious that no conclusion has been reached and it further seems that the truth has not been told - but its been done so well - that you literally have to decide who to believe.

And with these convoluted reports and extra pieces of at odds with evidence detail - its clear that either everyone that has touched this case is unbelievably incompetent - or it has been undermined by a tight knit group that follows orders.
