Why we are here..........

Take my breath away
I know what to say
If I could you know
I would.......
If a turn away
I can only pray
For you..........

Days go on
and Nights are so looooooooong
and with you NOT here
I am left in fear

so please.......
come home
you will not be alone.
I know you would
If you only could...

written and sung by Jenni Brooks - Maura's friend

I get tears everytime I hear this song. After all the mud slinging - name calling - yes I have done this too..
Listen and this reminds you why we are here.

Maura Murray........

sorry.. I left out part of the words... the ones I posted are my favorite part of the song...... i love the whole song.. but that part - you can hear a loved one missing a loved one from the heart............ a real person that went missing on Feb 9th.........Maura Murray. Who's family and friends are left with the empty feeling without her or answers. I ask again everyone try to think of this as someone you know or love. I think coming from the heart we can find answers. Someone knows...........

You have been the #1 cause of most of the hatred on the forums with your name calling and accusatory statements against the locals and the state. If some of the newer people posting could have seen the names and horrific things you have said about the people and state of NH they would be shocked.
My question to you is WHY do you enjoy the bashing. Is it for the excitement, the drama or is it just plain meanness?
If you truly want people to help with this mystery then you will control the urge to throw out little digs and insults. Enough is enough!
I agree. Shack has since 2004 been using various MM forums as a platform for venting her rage against the NH locals and the NH LE. Just recently she spent some time with some people in Littleton who said they were unfamiliar with the MM story which immediately prompted Shack to go into her 'hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil' rant. OK, Shack we get it, the locals have at one time offended you, now please settle scores with them elsewhere not here.

Yeah, we've done that too. My cell phone went to Chicago once, with a sibling. It sent me a postcard while it was there waiting to be mailed back....

Shack likes to speak in code because IT EXCLUDES THE NEWCOMERS and she yearns for the 'good old days' when the insiders spoke only to each other and rules were reverentially followed and everyone knew their place and stayed in it.

So wait. Which here is fact and which is opinion? "Pike was treated like garbage" is not a factual statement. It is an opinion statement. Anything with any sort of emotionally construing language is opinion. "Dissed" and "humiliated" are also subjective terms. "anathema" also. "Enthusiastically discouraged" is coloured language--if something was indeed discouraged it might be fact (I don't know because I wasn't involved at the time) but "enthusiastically" is subjective and so is "people went ballistic."
This is highly emotionally charged languarge and does not contribute to factual evidence.
These are simple concepts that students learn in College English 101 when they are taught to write an argument or persuasive essay. I'm not tooting my own horn. I am simply stating that in this instance--like Dawn with her phone knowledge--I know whereof I speak. Because I do this sort of evaluation for a living.
The original Maura Murray forum was begun in 2004. Fact.
Pike eventually stopped posting. Fact.
Everything else: evidentiary at best, subjective, and highly emotionally charged with the poster's opinion, which she is trying to persuade us to agree with.
Duh! Of course it's subjective, of course it's my opinion. What else could it possibly be? Do you want to compare credentials? Where have you been published? Do I have to write IMO, IMHO, MOO after every post? Thus contributing to my carpal tunnel syndrome?

That, Suzanne, is EXACTLY my impression of the 'agenda'. Should answer Dawn's questions, as well.

I think where the talk of the 'locals' comes from - from what I can see - we have some on the board that are very proud of the area - WW/Wowzer come to mind. I think we all know there are some bad apples in every bushel. Not everyone can be a 'good citizen' and only want that recognized. Not saying they had anything to do with Maura missing.

Just admit - every town has flaws - we are human - it will happen everywhere - people tend to push back when its over and over that NH has perfect people. They don't. There isn't a place in the USA that is perfect. Unfortuantly - people can turn out to be a bad person.

I also think that the locals - would have been seen in better light if they helped or allowed people to search. I know wowzer doesn't like that. But - if it happens by house - go for it. I will even bring you a cup of coffee and maybe make you a sandwich. I don't want some perp out there that could hurt me

It could have been someone passing through - visiting family - only to return at a later date. Find the clues - before he/she strikes again.

I also think NH is a beautiful place and I do plan to visit there someday. I love Seattle - however - there are parts of town I won't walk in at night. There are small towns that are quite odd here in WA too. Still beautiful - still nice people - but then again - Ted Bundy and Gary Rigway are from here too . oh and the two from Spokane........

I still don't get it. What is the theory? just that NH is bad - which I don't believe in anyway shape or form to be true - as I have stated above. What is FIT's theory. please dummy it down for me.

What I don't understand is how when one "side: does it, it's cruel bashing, and when the other "side" does, it's somehow ok.

I should think we were all on the same side--the side of finding Maura.

Oh my goodness, yes, the areas of East Sprague where the most recent Spokane killer found his victims are places I wouldn't even go in daylight unless I had to. What was so alarming about the South Hill killer, on the other hand, was that the South Hill is one of the nicer neighbourhoods.

Because we're morons. I've done it, both because I didn't have time to charge it, because I forgot to charge it the night before, because my battery was wearing down because it was old....because the plug gets wobbly as it ages and isn't always connected, and.....because I'm a moron with poor planning skills. Some from column A, some from column B.(it happened this weekend, because I usually charge my phone overnight, and was called away from home with an emergency with very little juice in my phone....and my phone charger doesn't work at the moment.....ugh)
OK, lets see if I can help here. All you ladies in particular. Buy a charger specifically to be kept in the car. Keep it in your car at all times. That way, when you need it most even if you need to talk with it attached to the charger you can at least use the phone. Even if you eventually need to leave the car, you can charge the phone first. There is no excuse for not buying a cell phone charger and keeping it in your car. None. I made sure my wife and boys have one and no one should drive around without one in the car at all times if they own a cell phone because guaranteed dollars to donuts when you need that phone the most it will be out of battery power.

Were I so inclined, I could list some of the dozens of places I've been published--all nationally known literary sources--or some of the awards I've won. But I'm not sending you a resume....as I've learned from Mason...because then (a) I might be accused of not being me (not that Dawn cares who I am probably!), or (b) I'd be accused of being egotistical.

The reason I felt compelled to point it out, Suzanne, is because you stated in the first sentence, in the first clause, that they were FACTS. Now you are saying that they are opinions, which you said by the end of the post. That is why I asked WHICH WAS FACT AND WHICH WAS OPINION. A statement is either fact or opinion. It is data or the judgment of such data. It cannot be both simultaneously. Yet you state at the beginning of your post that something is FACT when by the end of the post it clearly is not. And you want us to believe it is FACT.

To quote you, back at yourself, perhaps less than eloquently but nevertheless very succinctly, "Duh."

And this has nothing to do with being a "moron". It is a LAW of the universe that anything mechanical or electrical will fail at the worst possible time. One of Murphys' laws. Just like you can count on gravity.

It's my opinion--and I recognise that I've not specifically been addressed in this post--that the FIT doesn't have "a" theory, per se. The "FIT" is Weeper's unofficial and affectionate (I'd hoped) term for the posters on the forum at the time, and....as is still apparent here and on the other forum....people's opinions are all over the place and varied. Everyone has their own opinion. So I, for one, don't really feel there is "a FIT opinion," contrary to what others might think.

And that, folks, is MY personal opinion.
