Why was Maura Murray asked to leave the United States Military Academy at West Point?

In what sense was she "asked?" Is "asked" a euphemism for told or order to leave?

Or was it merely suggested that Maura Murray leave USMA?

Who asked Maura Murray to leave USMA? A school official? A jealous classmate?

Did Maura have a choice? Did she WANT to leave USMA?

Did Maura Murray leave USMA because she violated school policy or some kind of code of conduct? Did she steal, cheat, get drunk, use drugs, have inappropriate sexual contact, skip classes, disobey orders, etc? Or was she asked to leave for some other reason? Was she asked to leave because she had health problems (not including mental health problems)? Did she have mental health problems that would relate to her disappearance from UMass Amherst.

Did Maura Murray ever temporarily "disappear" before?

How is Maura Murray's departure from USMA relevant to disappearance from UMass Amherst?

If there is a good chance that Maura Murray's disappearance is related to her early departure from West Point, then why all the secrecy about her life at UMass before she disappeared? No appearance on an ATM video, which video itself might or might not exist. No one on the other end of her phone calls who either spoke with her or recalls having spoken with her. No positive indications of her whereabouts on Sunday or Monday before she left. In sum, nothing. Again, it's as if she did not exist before she disappeared.

I question the West Point issue. Maybe it happened, maybe not. Maybe it's relevant, maybe not. But what it represents right now is nothing more than one more bubble of mystery. "Trust me, she was asked to leave West Point, but the reason is a secret."

The REASON Maura Murray's case is so compelling is that there is so much secrecy surrounding it compared to other cases of a similar nature.

I find it interesting that so many people in the Amherst area who are connected to or were acquainted with the late Richard O. Johnson have such an intense interest in the disappearance of Maura Murray. Yet none of them seem to post on this thread. Or on the old MMM forum. Seem to.

It's too bad that Johnson rrecently died from cancer, considering his business interest, and presumably investment, in nutritional supplements that were supposed to LOWER one's cancer risk. Especially considering that his partner in the nutritional supplement business was a former UMass professor of food chemistry and their company, American River Nutrition, has ties with a company REALLY close to where Lindsay Ferguson met up with John Regan.

Richard Johnson was very active in the anti-abortion group Birthright of Amherst Area, which did have a small gallery not far from campus. If you think Birthright is a kind of mellow opponent of abortion, just read up on their darling Dr. John R. Diggs, Jr. Diggs's rhetoric is scary, plain and simple.

Johnson's business partner in the nutritional supplement business was also active in developing a pro-life church in Amherst.

In fact, an address that was given or referred to at least three times on this thread recently (presumably by Det. Columbo's clone, Web Whisperer) was an address owned and developed by Johnson. And just a few days ago, someone from that very address rear-ended me with a Saturn at a nearby stop light.

There's a lot of interest in Maura Murray's disappearance by people from the Amherst area. But it's not very apparent on this Franconia New Hamshire Topix thread. You'd think the people from the Amherst area who are so interested in Maura Murray's disappearance would contribute to this thread at least once in a while. How come they don't? Or do they?

Hey Sophie, you said:
"Bold Faced lies. 1. Maura was asked to leave West Point." You mean that this is true. How, if so, was that proved and by whom? Who asked her to leave, and for what reason? I'm not saying that it isn't true, I'm simply not aware of it. Furthermore, what bearing does this, if true, have on the case?
I say:
YES, this is TRUE. It has been proven and if you make a few calls to your friends you'll find out it has been verified by them. Do you really want to see posted why she was asked to leave, who asked her to, and for what reason? It took a lot of work and a little luck to discover just this one "truth", and, yes, it makes a world of difference as to why Maura might have disappeared. This was purposefully not revealed to the public. This and other things show a pattern that LE might find to be quite unlike "taking-a-short-vacation " behavior. The public was spared these details and that made Maura's disappearance a bigger mystery than it probably was to LE. I am not putting Maura down in ANY way, just saying that she has imperfections as we all do that could lead to unexpected behavior.
Feel free to PM me on the other site.
Ouija, I have received the same information, probably from a different source than you. I don't know about you but I have no idea why she was asked to leave but if it was grades then this will bring on a new onslaught of attacks since it was just yesterday that Peri described Maura as "brilliant" on Advocat's forum so I suspect some will once again consider it bashing. It is not.

I just see her being asked to leave WP as the beginning of an unravelling process which culminated in her saying "I've had it! Enough! I'm leaving."

Very true and this is why we have lost one of our most brilliant posters - Mason. Read Mason's brilliant farewell post for his feelings of "frustration and disgust" at being played and at all the many levels of secrecy and disinformation.

Sometimes I wonder whether Maura Murray's disappearance or possible death is a ruse to trick someone who might have been stalking Maura. IOW, is Maura's disappearance an effort to make a possible stalker think that she is dead or that she started a new life very, very anonymously, beyond the stalker's reach? Seems possible.

There certainly is a fairly good indication that some cooperation between someone in Amherst and someone near the Rt. 112 curve may worked to achieve this end.

Gosh darn. Seems Truckstop.net shares the same address as this company: ASIS.

"ASIS is the largest organization advancing the security profession worldwide." According to the ASIS website.

So it's interesting how strong the Truckstop.net signal is in Wells River. Five bars. Hits the max. At a place that denies it has any kind of wifi or other type of wireless internet connection. And all this from where?

New Plymouth? Idaho?

Well, here's the web addy for ASIS:

Oh yeah. Forgot to mention that the founder of Truckstop is associated with where Maura Murray may have been staying or visiting in Amherst. They (the truckstop guy and the Amherst landlord) were in the same business of bribing or helping to bribe the same governor of Connecticut at the same time. Rowland was convicted of having accepted money inappropriately, to say the least - most of all from Key Air.

The following is a brief overview of events and actions that have occurred during the recent history of the parcel of land in Leeds called Beaver Brook Woods.

1952 Mr. Fred Whitburn of Leonard Street purchases the current 37.4 acres. During his stewardship the land is used for horse pasturing, sugar mapling, and as an active woodlot.

Mar. 1998 Mr. Whitburn passes away, and the parcel is willed to the Diocese of Springfield and the A.S.P.C.A. Within a month the land is purchased from those groups by the Beaver Brook Nominee Trust, trustee John J. Hanley of New York City and New Jersey.

Seems Mr. Johnson had some way of buying the Northampton land known as Yankee Hill previously owned by the Diocese of Springfield, the same Diocese so deeply involved in the priest-sex scandal a few years back. Remember Richard Lavigne and Bishop Dupre? Getting land from the Diocese of Springfield... and making a nice profit on it, too.

So this means what? Is there someone's ankle in particular that you have in mind for God to turn? Or are you implying you'd like to see some kind of violence visited on someone? If so, who?

What does this post mean, EXACTLY?????

Yes, someone really rear-ended me (my vehicle, actually). It was done by someone from the same address posted at least three times very recently by Web Whisperer, ISP location of Littleton, NH. I'm assuming Det. Columbo.

I don't for a minute buy your "being facetious." No, creep, it's not funny. Not to me.

Beagle! Nothing todo with you, just got on and started goofing around. Actually, I went to one of your links for the truck/dot/net and at the bottom of the page was the Irish Blessing. I was on some page from 2004 where they were complaining about Sprint or something.

I don't understand either why there was so much secrecy about Maura's life before Woodsville. A simple guess: For some time she was much more upset than we were told, was acting out a lot, and that this isn't really the way you want to describe someone you love --- by their worst times, not their best ones. Maura seemed to be behaving like (as Suzanne said) she or her world was falling apart. I sure don't know what was bothering her. So Maura's disappearance IS still a mystery to the public. But perceiving her as maybe being "troubled" rather than "perfect" can make her disappearance a little less of a mystery. And that's probably what we weren't supposed to know and exactly how we were not supposed to see Maura. Oh, and we weren't supposed to explore if there was a specific "why".

Anyone who has the balls to post a persons real name and location alleging the person committed a crime should have the balls to post their own real name and location, unforunately most of the MM posters are nothing more than armchair cowards
