Anne, I was gong back through the Maribeth Conway article and you are quoted in the last one. I was wondering did anyone else ever come forward that heard that as well - they just prefer to remain quiet.

Peri, Your life revolves around Maura. You eat, drink, sleep, breathe Maura. If it turns out Maura is alive and well, what will you do? You'll realize how empty your life really is. I feel sorry for you.

It's interesting to me how people have different views on those of us that follow missing person(s) and/or other crime cases. Take a look at any of the sites/forums having to do with this subject and you'll find hundreds, even thousands of people. Diverse groups of people, all professions, incomes, etc. My view...never did I think they were "obsesssed." I always thought how great to have so many compassionate people, worrying, praying searching for answers. And for the most part strangers to the victim. God forbid I or a family member/friend should ever be missing or murdered, it brings me a bit of comfort to know these people are out there for me or my family. Are there some who may be obsessed? Probably - don't know any of them personally to make that statement though. Look at all of us here on this forum. Why would Peri be obsessed and not Beagle or Mason....me, Firecat, Dawn, Snowy etc? Beagle puts more time in here than anyone. Mason has written pages and pages of theories re: Maura. A lot of us have spent years waiting and hoping for answers. How people look at this differently IS interesting...here I always thought those of you that take the time to personally "stab" someone through your words here or create Forums to personally attack should be the ones that get a life. Huh.... (If you must reply to this post - bring it to my PM on the other forum - this place is for Maura and missing person topics. Sorry that I took some of that space away typing this)

OH MY wrote: <quoted text> My therory is that Maura was drugged with alittle wine and then a rag was placed in her tailpipe hen Claude and Skye and a couple others ran her off the road and they killed her because she saw something she shouldn't have ok!! The rag was to stop her car from going to fast so they could abduct her before she contacted authorities!! Juft ask Clude Molton or Skye Weeks.. Ok, I have read a BUNCH of these posts, and I have to put my two sense in. Claude is a "tough guy", although, I do have to add in he may come off intimidating, but he ain't shit. I'm a 100lb. 5'8", and he backs down when I stand up to him. As far as Skye goes, this will be the only time I admit to it...She is my sister. As far as I am concerned, she died almost 10 years ago when she and Claude started dating. Yes, she grew up in Portland, but she doesn't have street smarts. We moved to Woodsville before she was old enough to know anything like that, her "street smarts" consist of Claude's brainwashing. I wouldn't put it past Claude for a moment of having a hand in Maura's disappearance, at the time, he lived less than a 5 minute drive away from the scene. Skye, on the other hand, is a mother and her daughter is everything to her. I honestly don't think that she was directly involved, it wouldn't be worth it to her to lose her daughter. Although, she's not smart enough to realize that she's just as guilty for keeping Claude's little secret. Skye and I were speaking to one another at the time of the disappearance, and she hinted, so I do believe 100% that she knows something.

Most other missing threads do not carry this animosity, disagreement or anger that is displayed here. Thank you for your post.

Snowy, If it requires another 18000 posts to find what happened to Maura February 9, 2004 in New Hampshire, then so be it. I want to know, do you?

I want to know, do you? of course. my point is that this extraordinary number of posts hasn't produced a neat formula/resolution, the conversation is not always productive, or even friendly, and interested parties are divided. must be human nature. sometimes the limits to patience and tolerance are far exceeded, and legitimate complaints are voiced but not heard. the pushback comes in the form of threats, ownership, and a win/lose mentality. too many people have backed away; that is a clear message. it's broken, and although it may be worth fixing, i certainly don't know how.

Snowy I do agree with much of what you have stated. The last significant progress was made with the mmm forum. IMHO it is helpful to have a good moderator.
