There seem to be, at least as far as public knowledge/info goes, at least as much indication that Maura Murray was abducted from some place between Amherst and Haverhill. Why the apparent disparity in search efforts? There could be an excellent reason, but I doubt it. Very much.

Each case is handled so differently its hard to tell. LE have been known to purposely keep certain facts from the public - only they know and the perp and they dont want the perp to know. I wouldn't say false statements are made - but not full statements are made. Things are left out - ommision on purpose. Also, with out a body they can still have a POI - evidence even - but without a body they can't rule out other options. It is a slippery slope and a fine balancing act - to try to get your perp to have info he shouldn't have - or reveal things about him/herself they didn't realise - took the cat right out of the bag1! so to speak

Sara, I believe it is pretty common knowlege, that a large part of a police role in protecting the public causes them to close ranks. Did you ever notice that everytime something happens, that they will say things like,'there is no danger to the public'.? or,'they do not suspect foul play'. These are common statements. I am not putting down LE, but these standard statements are just that, standard! With no other answer available, it is not surprising they would say she ran away.

The address was stated clearly and specifically by Web Whisperer on this thread three times within about a week. The address was emphasized, but not specified, a fourth time by another poster - Suzanne, I believe.

The development history and ownership of that whole area, including the address (mostly housing and strip malls), is intimately connected to the pro-life and nutritional supplement business. Very intimately connected. And those are irrefutable facts.

That being said, I don't conclude too much from the rear-ending. However, I take the vandalism far more seriously.

You state that the UL was the first newspaper to print the "death in the family". When was their article written? From Project Jason. I see the Boston Globe - reported on this on Feb 20th. Then if you do cntrl find - death - you will find lots of articles that say this. When was the UL article written?

I would think being rear ended could have been quite serious too. I am glad you are ok. Where you the one vandalised? If so, this has to be quite scary. I do remember seeing the address listed several times. Then when we didn't hear alot from you last week - I was getting a bit worried. Glad your back - let me know about the vandelism - who got vandelised and what did the vandels do ?

Verizon cell phones do not work in the area, but the newer (2005 and up) Onstar does work in the area. When I had a Verizon cell phone through the Onstar equipment it worked sporadically and the direct Onstar works well in the area. I WISH my Verizon or Sprint phone worked in the area--it would save me the residential phone bill!
