I was just saying that not all the "elimination" between downtown Amherst bars and SW is done in a bathroom, especially after dark.

To make it even clearer, if Vasi had used the cemetery before, it might indicate the likelihood of his using it again.

Also, according to an online weather record, there was little if any snow Thursday night. Maybe that online weather info is inaccurate.

Paris,
Please use your head for goodness sake. What possibly could come from Vasi 'using' a cemetary weeks, even months prior to his accident? I would also suggest you have some sort of intuition within yourself. Please listen to it.
ok, thank you for reminding me.

Hi all,

Just noticed that Mauraīs thread on the Websleuths web site has recently become much more active than for some time.
Some very good discussions going on there as well currently.
Wish we could somehow pool our resources a bit...

Just a wild theory here:

Has anybody ever checked out any possible connections between Amherst, West Point and Haverhill as regards Maura.
What if whatever happened to Maura originated at West Point and this particular problem somehow followed her to Amherst and (possibly) to Haverhill as well?

What do you think? Possible?
Thanks!

That's just it, Petrit does not claim to know what happened. He thinks now it was snowing, but he's been through alot and admits he just doesn't recall. I myself feel that campus police would have looked at the cars on campus since this happened on campus. I keep thinking about the Saturn, it would be so hard to drive with the headlight like that. It looks like someone took a sledgehammer to it and in my mind, that would be a last thing to do when staging the "accident"

The only reason I could find it is because I remembered I had a link to it. Otherwise, yes, when you search for it, it does not seem to be there. This seems a bit counterproductive to conversation.

Sorry, I thought Petrit was hit on campus because he was a student there, my mistake then.
NOTES FROM AN ARTICLE WORTH SHOWING:
Fred came to UMass that weekend to help Maura go car shopping. Maura's black 1996 Saturn sedan was in rough shape, running on just three cylinders. Maura drove the Saturn as little as possible. The father and daughter were looking at a three-year-old Geo Prizm. "She would have had a new car by next week," Fred said later.
New Hampshire State Trooper John Monahan also stopped by the scene of the accident. It is not clear what time he arrived, if he was dispatched to the accident, or if he stopped on his own accord.

Was there a second accident that night?

A local Woodsville resident has come forward claiming to have heard about another accident on a police scanner the same evening that Maura's accident was reported. The woman, who goes by the name "Anne," first recounted the incident on a posting to the Maura Murray website. She spoke to a reporter for this story but did not want her name used.
Around 7 that evening, Anne recalled, she heard reports on the police scanner in her home that a young female driver was off the road and emergency vehicles were to respond. Anne said she heard a second call come in telling the emergency vehicles to turn back, because there was no need for their service; the young female driver was said to have left the area of Swiftwater Road in a private vehicle. Swiftwater Road is about two miles from Maura's accident scene. There is also Swiftwater Circle a half-mile from the accident scene. To further confuse the matter there is a small area near Woodsville that locals often call Swiftwater.

"The only reason we paid attention to the call was that we had a friend who was from Florida and was spending her first winter up here and living alone...and that was the route she drove home on," Anne explained.
At noon the next day. Tuesday, Feb. 10, police issued a "BOL" (Be on the Lookout) for Maura Murray. She was described as wearing a dark coat, with black hair hanging past her shoulders, standing five feet, three inches tall, and weighing 120 pounds

Can someone please supply the street name and number of the A-frame and one of its owners? Or at least the name of a past owner? Please? Thank you.

How to reconcile this with Fred's allegedly telling the body shop guy - much earlier, obviously, than when the news story was written - that he bought the Corolla for Maura to use? That it was a replacement for the Saturn. Which might explain why she was driving it the night she crashed it.

Maybe Fred was giving the Corolla to her that weekend as a surprise, even if he had told her that they would go look for a car? Can anyone say what color the Corolla was? The Corolla's color must be in the Hadley PD's crash report. It would be good to independently corroborate this account.

Please leave this poor man alone after all that he has been through and stop bothering him with stupid questions. It's obvious he doesn't remember anything and is still healing and would probably like to forget about that part of his life.
It was bad enough that the bus driver was hunted down by PI to his new home in FL and tried to be questioned again but to hound Vasi with dumb questions is appalling.
It's no wonder that no one comes forward with any info. They would be hounded to death with phone calls and e-mails and even personal visits for the rest of their lives.
Have some heart people.

I don't think anyone's name should be mentioned on a public forum. It can put the named into a dangerous situation.

Sorry, that could be a good point. I just figured that if there was any danger, it would come from someone who already knew where the house was or could find it without any assistance. The house must be pretty well-known in the area. I was primarily interested in whether a certain western Mass. person I have in mind owned it in 2004, before, or since.

I agree that innocent people should not be hounded. As for Mr. Vasi, though, he seems quite willing to help and whatever help he can offer would be small in size, but large in value. IOW, he would only have to add a few new facts, and that would be it. Nothing very personal. He does not recall very much anyway. He is not at all in the same sad predicament as the bus driver. No one thinks of him as a possible criminal or anything. But it is a good reminder to be sensitive to that kind of thing. Thank you. Certainly, Mr. Vasi is to be thanked for his help and should not feel pressured to assist. If he would truly like to help, however, he is welcome to do so in whatever way he feels most comfortable.

Hey now, Petrit doesn't think my questions are dumb. I wasn't going to go ask him where he pukes you know. I only ask so much and stay polite as much as I can. Learning what I have from Petrit has helped me in more ways than one. I play stupid for my own reasons. I didn't think you were saying that though so don't mind me and I agree with you Wowzer.

What's wrong with asking someone where he puked? To a downtown drinker, it's like having a good fishing spot, except in reverse. Comes in handy if you have the time to get there. I don't mind telling anyone where I puked. Actually, it's kind of a hot topic of discussion in Amherst, anyway. Besides which, Mr. Vasi himself is the one who brought it up.

I just wonder what's relevant with asking this particular detail.

The combination of traumatic head injury and, apparently, quite drunk and stumbling (as he surmises) seems to have wiped his memory utterly clean of events. Nevertheless, it's been helpful to hear his responses.
