Wow!! Lady Gray tries to compliment the people of the area and someone who claims to be from the area turns that to a negative and then someone claims that others have an agenda. While they, themselves, state that they have an agenda.

Your questioning the kind hearts of the area residents on Maura’s MySpace page is just as damaging as what you accuse posters on the MMM forum as being guilty of. And you are a resident of the area? You might as well say that your area neighbors are clueless. It seems that there is a division in your community.

Guess I didn’t get to read far enough back in the family forum…what did people say about the area? Who did they say lied? What would make you guys so antagonistic towards these people?

I did read OH MY’s posts on this forum. He claimed to be an area resident and yet he made allegations of some awful things going on up there.

Of course I also read BB’s posts and have to wonder about those who took him seriously. Though perhaps some should have taken his mental stability a bit more seriously. I mean really, he STATED that he was accused of “MAKING child pornography” and that he wife and other family members left without telling him where they were going IIRC.

White Wash (you really should go back to Photogirl, since your position seems at odds with the WW handle) will you ask your buddies what the gallery is called.

Whiston you said you called that reporter…please call back whoever that nice person was at Umass and ask the name of the “mystery” gallery so we can at least solve that mystery. Personally I don’t see how it will help to know, but hey anything that helps ease your mind. It might help BB with his theories about stolen books or art work too or maybe female eggs.

WW do you know what ‘usable evidence’(FACT) was removed from the car and sent to the Concord crime lab? That information would be helpful.

Sorry Quija don’t know whether there are any paid investigators reading here. One can only hope.

Have you noticed the attacks are coming from ‘anonymous’ people. Maybe the mmm people should take on some new handles. Seems many need an attitude transplant and a new perspective. Whiston is concerned about new comers seeing the fighting.

Maybe its time to remember that this is about a young woman who has been missing since February of 2004.

Jerry Fletcher, Welcome and great post, hopefully bringing in some new direction in where we are heading. I am local too and know lots of helpful and interested people from around here who recognize the pain and frustration that Maura's family has to endure. They simply want to know what happened. The majority of locals do not know what they can do to help.

Atwood is a ridiculously familiar name around these parts. As a genealogy specialist, I can verify that the presence of the Atwood name in the Upper Valley is common. I personally (and by googling me, you can see I am not technically in the area) went to school with 10+ Atwoods.

Hanover Drive is in Mtn. Lakes. In relation to the Weathered Barn, it's Swiftwater Circle, down Valley, across French Pond Rd and up above the other side of the lakes. It's an area where there's a few houses but mostly open lots that have not yet been built on. It lists the owners address of Orlando, Florida. Many of those lots originally sold in the 70's and 80's and people have held onto them over the years.

Something the locals can do to help -- not just in Maura's case but also the other cases in that area -- is to put pressure on the police forces, the mayors and other community and state leaders and authorities, i.e., "What are you doing to get this solved ... what are you doing to make our community safer for all of us?" and so on. It's possible that pressure from the local community could cause the FBI to be brought in on some of these cases. Write letters to your community and state leaders, write letters to your congressional representatives, and demand an accounting. Write more than one letter :)

However, it has been stated by experts, who I respect and trust, that the person (s) responsible for Maura's dissapearance has done it before and will do it again.

With all due respect to Maura's family, I believe they understand, we are dealing with a Conn. River Valley Killer situation. Dr. Maurice Godwin findings reflect that the person(s) have done it twice before, Maura, and will do it again.

oops, I forgot to add.....

I drove those highway corridors between the ages of 17 and 33 years old and I was NEVER once told that it was unsafe for young women to be travelling alone.

It was not until I learned about Maura & Brianna did I learn about what was going on all around me. The least I can do is get involved, even if is from 1000 miles away, and stay involved.

Has Dr. Godwin ever said who the other two murdered or missing people are that this killer has done to the other two times?

Did the Dr come to NH to look over any evidence to come up with these findings?
I'm just amazed that he can tell that the killer has done it twice before. Why could it not have been done once, three times or more times before?
How does he know there is even a killer when there is no evidence that I'm aware of that a crime was even committed.
Not trying to be a pain but just wondering how it's possible that he came to these conclusions.

Hmm, Dr. Godwin instructed a class (via satellite) in Vermont for LE only within the past few years so I think it is safe to say that he's working on it along with many other state agencies.

If you go to his website you will see he makes mention of NH Murders.

Unfortunately, NH LE apppears they don't want any help and remain tight lippped but I'm hoping that there was at least one NH State Trooper who drove to Vermont and attended that particular class.

He also offered a course, where he was there, about a year ago in Conn. that was open to the public. I announced it on Maura's website.

Dr. Godwin is the best the US has got regarding expert criminal profilers. He writes the books, instructs LE, and helps whenever he can.

Opps, the course I mentioned above was a seminar in Conn.

I've often wondered if it pertained to all of the young women whose bodies were being discovered behind strip malls. The seminar was on serial sexual predators.

Thanks for the information regarding the prevalence of the Atwood family name in New England.

What struck me in this particular instance was the fact that the Atwood owner of the plot of land in Mountain Lakes apparently happens to be a resident of Florida, where the SBD also moved.
Probably just a matter of sheer coincidences!
