No, as I remember someone reported that is what he said. That isn't what I remember the earlier timeline and his information about when he punched out from work saying. I remember that he was supposed to have seen the walking person around 7:30 so he was a fair distance away from the accident site. I also thought that was information gotten from his timecard. Bill |

As far as the statement attributed to SBD I seem to remember that someone said the SBD said he wasn't sure if it was Maura because the bottom of her face was covered. The speculation then proceeded about how the airbag was maybe covering her face. I don't know that he said anything about the airbag. I only remember hearing that he stated that the bottom of her face was covered.

1 Hello Half Moon, Yes, this is indeed the church where Maura may well have been seen in the summer of 2005. And, yes despite this sighting having been officially declared null and void, I would still regard it as highly interesting indeed. If someone would ask me: Do you think this girl was actually Maura? My answer would be: Very likely, yes. After all, northern Vermont is as wild and sparsely populated as the north of Sweden. And Barton is just a short hop south of the Canadian border, as well. If Maura is in hiding for whatever reason or possibly suffering from some kind of amnesia or other similar trauma, she could be literally anywhere in that huge, nearly unpopulated area. |

hi all.Maura called the Salamones in M.A. They owned a condo in NH.they dont remember the call from Mauras phone .It was only assumed on MMM that it was a call about a place to stay.mr Westman is the go to guy when it comes to accident at the weathered barn bend.the saturn was not found at the bend.the saturn was past the bend 15 minutes before they saw it .did they see sgtSmith arrive or was he there when they looked out.i still am hung up on sgtSmith being at the saturn before the Westmans called 911as for the cigarete smoker ,was that a light on a cell phone.was the trunk action to make rom or was someone looking for a jack etc.mrAtwood dropped the kids at a mystery school as far as iknow he did not drop his passengers at home.if he dropped the kids at school could he hsve arrived at the saturn before 7 .12 pm when sgt Smiths' vehicle was seen there or did sgtSmith show up twice.take care philip

1 Half Moon, Thanks for your quick response. Yes, I believe that I´m part of the small minority here that at least have a flickering hope that Maura may actually be with us. I totally agree with you concerning the two most likely possible sightings of Maura in Barton, VT, on Father´s Day 2005 and in the NH convenience store by our friend gvmeabrk. Whatever LE and the PI Team may - with all due respect - be saying, I feel - rather passionately, actually - that these two possible sightings cannot be at all disqualified. The witness in the Barton church particularly remarked on the young girl´s "runners legs" and that she seemed somewhat shy and sad. What I also consider highly indicative is that the young lady, "Raykel", suddenly "fled" the church when the minister started mentioning the subject of fathers in his sermon. I find this highly poignant indeed. Regarding the Solid Rock Church, they seem to have quite a number of churches across the USA, so must be numbering a fairly substantial amount of worshippers, I would imagine. Had a pleasant conversation with him during the Oct.'06 search. Healy is Director...Weeper, of course is a member of NHLI Atwood's...residence,..from memory..owned by his mother...Sold and the 3 moved to FL...he and his girl friend/ex wife and his mother. And, vaguely..the PI's found him in FL? and did indeed have conversation/questioning...? Also, vague..no cell service (then, don't know about now) at incident site that night.....and, yes ..recall something about a couple driving back from some poetry reading? and being asked by Maura...? to call....? I believe that Mrs. ex-Atwood was home before Mr. got home. If the crusty hard snowbank was over 17" high, the bumper would have stopped the car (unless she was going over 80mph and flew over) Unlikely headlight damage, lamps askew, was far from incident site... for 2 reasons..visability (sp?)in the dark and LE "mv violation". |

He did say that when he pulled up, the airbag was covering the bottom of her face; however, at that point, the female struggled to get out the driver's side due to the closeness in proximity of the driver's door up against the snowbank. They then spoke to each other over the roof of the car. When SBD was shown a photo of Maura, his statement was (and this is a quote): " Attwood described Maura, "She didn't look like the pictures, her hair was down, it must have come undone during the accident." SBD's statement about the airbag covering the bottom portion of her face doesn't make sense to me because when an airbag goes off, it immediately deflates so either the airbag had inflated as SBD was pulling up or it had already been deployed and the female held up the deflated bag over her face as he pulled up. WTF, isn't the timing correct when it comes to the inflating/deflating of the airbag? |

1 Anyway, has anyone in this forum talked to Mr. Stone, or the pastor of the Barton Church? Whiston, you mentioned the trunk again. Is my theory of the trunk light illuminating quite a bit of the area, crazy? Or has it been gone over a few times? I am also wondering, is there a way to contact members here other than posting to the forum, so I could say to people like Elsewhere, "I ordered that book", without getting the "off topic" lemon? |

If drug addicted criminals -> I would think both people would vacate the vehicle simultaneously. No reason to wait, instead they have reason to leave as soon as possible - both of them. "Cell phone implies call someone to get you - things didn't go as planned." If drug addicted criminals -> I would think they would have no one to call. |
