Ben Franklin, thank you for your apology, and EWB, hello, thanks for the support. My post was specifically in response to "please clarify" saying that s/he "didn't understand" my perfectly clear statement that I am not dismissing any reasonable possibilities, or very many unreasonable ones. I may find one idea or another unlikely, but that in no way means that I view it as impossible. "Adam Hart" - nice to see that you're also "Edgar" - man, it's hard to keep up! "Obfuscating" - a good word, look it up if necessary - willfully obscuring facts If you're posting with multiple identites, you are obfuscating, and the reasons for that are not likely to be respectable.

Hi - I never saw or read anywhere that there was a car on video at the ATM. I never read that the Saturn was there or that a different car was there when Maura made her transaction. I think people were asking and HOPING there was video evidence of a car. Take care, quij.

OK, not feeding trolls...but trolls are more than simply amusing caricatures of people's online behavior. "Trolling" in terms of fishing is dragging bait trying to catch something. This may not be entirely irrelevant in a discussion of crime in NH and VT. It may be something very significant. "Criminal element" in Grafton County? It appears to have been fairly open knowledge about the former incarnation of a "restaurant" in Woodsville. It was found to be fact in the murder of Mr Powell in Warren. Floyd has been in trouble with the law many times. Mr Conrad's murder in Pike remains unsolved. "Trolling" appears to have been a major factor in Brooke Bennett's tragic and horrifying kidnapping and murder. I would think that local, in the interest of their own safety, would want this stopped immediately. Instead, I keep seeing "we are all good people" - why am I not seeing, from many locals at all, "there is a problem here and we want it solved"? I'm not questioning for a second that MOST locals are good, decent, helpful, kind people. I'm saying that there is a dangerous criminal element in the area which is as much or more of a threat to locals as it is to toruists and passersby.

Info on the ACTUAL Adam Hart: 22-year-old Adam Hart of UMass Amherst was banned from Facebook by a judge. On Facebook Hart met Osamah Abdallah, a Muslim at the University of Chicago. Hart, apparently not being a friend of the Muslim community, falsely reported Abdallah to authorities claiming that Abdallah was plotting to blow up the Sears Tower. Note: the REAL Adam Hart was a student at UMass Amherst. EDGAR....Edgar Allen Poe was born in Boston, and for some obscure literary reasons is as often linked to Amherst as he is to his homes in Richmond, Baltimore, the Bronx, and Philadelphia....mostly because many of his contemporaries were centered in Amherst (most notably, Emily Dickinson). In other words, hi Alden. We're not nearly as dumb as you seem to think we are.

So, Alden - thanks, Firecat - as I was saying about obfuscating... You say that you've been "persecuted" by various and sundry. It might help a whole lot if you'd stop doing things that make you look suspicious. Changing your screen name every three minutes is annoying at best and looks guilty of something at worst. Please come back as Alden, or just one screen name, and explain what it is you want here and why you keep doing things to derail our discussion. Or not, as you choose. I'm starting to really wonder why you're here.

Ouiija, thanks for your response, I will consider my post a mistake. I think you are correct in the hoping part about the car. Sophie, I for one am very aware of the criminal element that exists here. Keep posting. mcsmom, hi there..

EWB, hi and thanks for your support, but you're somewhat mistaken about me. I've never been "Trinity" although I have been known to run with that crowd, but I don't remember ever mentioning that fact here, because it seems irrelevant. Did we know each other in those circles? I have handed out flyers in that area, and I have searched while engaging in outdoor sports not necessarily including hiking. I have friends in some hiking groups, but don't remember if I've mentioned that here, although I may have. I am a member of some online outdoor discussion groups, and I don't think I've said that in this forum. Please - this is directed to anyone here - if you know me from another online discussion, and you're using a different name here (perfectly understandable!)- let me know that directly. Thank you. elsewherebriefly wrote: Hey Ben, Sophie Bean gets knocked around enough by Bill and others on a regular basis and I've refrained from saying anything because Sophie is known as 'Trinity' in other circles so I know she can hold her own...lol. However, you are mistaken about her doing nothing. Sophie has been an active member on MMM since its inception and has contributed quite a bit. Sophie has handed out flyers and still continues to post flyers while she is out hiking. She has also made trips to the Swiftwater area letting us know about what she may have seen or experienced. Sophie has been praised by the MMM moderators for remaining on topic (always focusing on Maura and not talking about herself) while others, very including myself here, have strayed or gone off on irrelevant tangents. Please don't knock Sophie Bean, she's a good egg all around.

Hi Anne. I'm trying. My weird-o-meter is on <TILT!!!> at the moment. If I can get past that and realize that that fact is in itself significant, I'll see where it leads me. Thanks.

Trinity was somehting you mentioned in passing on MMM and I got a kick out of it. I've had Sophie Bean AKA Trinity after the link to your blog on my blog for quite some time. Maybe you didn't notice. I'll be sure to remove it all together. I have handed out flyers in that area, and I have searched while engaging in outdoor sports not necessarily including hiking. I have friends in some hiking groups, but don't remember if I've mentioned that here, although I may have. You mentioned that you were hiking on your blog. Again I'll be sure to remove the link to your blog altogether. I am a member of some online outdoor discussion groups, and I don't think I've said that in this forum. Nope, I just know you from MMM and your blog. Again I'll be sure to remove the link to your blog altogether. I've had the same online ID and e-mail address since 2001. I used my real name on Bringbrihome but other than that I've never felt the need to hide behind anything else stuck with elsewherebriefly.

EWB, thank you, but I still don't understand the reference to "she knows how to take care of herself"- especially as regards to other places on the internet. I've never said anything here about my involvement with any other online discussions.

I was referencing how JMO, Wowzer, Bill, and others have gone out of their way to say some pretty mean things to you, IMHO. You handled yourself pretty well with Beaglebart, as I recall. I was talking about this forum! Hey look, I am truly sorry that you turned the simple fact that I've acknowleged your efforts over the years to help find Maura into other anything other than that.

Elsewherebriefly, I owe you an apology. You're absolutely right, I did once in passing refer to myself "aka Trinity" or something like that, and I remember that it was in relationship to the "Pointy-boots brigade" I had forgotten that reference, and things are weird enough here lately that it made me jumpy - for no good reason. I'm VERY sorry.

Hello all, I´m returning to Swiftwater in the early evening of 9th February 2004. Apparently the State Trooper was actively looking for a person on foot on Rte 112 at about the same time as when Maura´s Saturn was found by the Weathered Barn. This was made clear when the State Trooper stopped for a while to speak with witness Robinson Ordway in Swiftwater village. Witness RO (as above) noticed the mysterious red truck (with possibly MA plates), whose driver was apparently looking for someone walking on Rte 112, even stopping to presumably "check out" RO. Now: Apparently a (to us) unknown person walking on Rte 112 was quite clearly of great interest to the State Trooper as well as to the driver of the mysterious red truck observed by RO. This must clearly be a matter of considerable significance, IMHO. What are your opinions? Thanks!

I am very thankful for the kindhearted and like minded individuals whom have cared/supported/contributed as much as I have. I completely understand why you may be so jumpy, believe me I do, and wholeheartedly accept your apology. Oh and by the way, hinky meter, re: last post to 1Aanne, sounds so much better (wink).

Here's something I've been thinking about Sophie Bean -*I hope she takes as a compliment* I think out of (almost) anybody here - Sophie is practically the most likely drive hundereds of miles, at 4:30 AM, on a moments notice, to save Maura's life. That I believe. Benjamin "Mr. Blunder" Franklin

Adam Hart writes an interesting synopsis of his observations which merit some consideration: "Okay, so you're looking for someone who is dead or alive, near or far, someone nobody knows, no one has ever met, and so little is known about her it's like she never existed until she disappeared into thin air. To accomplish this you use or recommend psychics and remote viewers, trip over yourselves for years explaining you're not really ripping the local population up one side and down the other just because they live near a place where an unknown person abandoned a car from the South Shore, and no one knows how it even got there in the first place. Or even when." ****** I suspect Adam's statement will be judged as "Mean" in response to his interesting and bold analysis.

Whiston, I have something re Amherst. If you're interested, you can email me at my fake email address: quijie@comcast.net.(This isn't an "exclusive" thing (they suck) and it's not a huge deal --- it's fine if anyone else -- in addition to the couple already emailing -- wants to email too). Just didn't want to post this here in the current atmosphere.
Whiston, I should be online by noon tomorrow.
