hi, whiston/philip ~ sorry to be curt in my previous answer.

i'd like to believe the investigation is being actively pursued, and information is securely held to maintain the integrity of the case. i hope i am not naive in this belief.

i wonder if the family is periodically updated to their satisfaction by state investigators...as they are the folks that really matter.

yes, odd and tragic.

On this anniversary of her disappearance, CBS4 has obtained never before seen video of Bish from that day showing her final minutes with her mother.

It was the sixth anniversary of her disappearance.

Harry...I owe you a peoples pint.

If we employ some methods of determining time and distance and look at areas that were outside cell service we might be able to narrow down where Maura might have been when the ping call made its attempt to search for Maura's cell phone.

For example, if we put forth a theory of 55 miles, one hour into a trip north, and an attempted call to her cell phone. Draw a 22 mile radius around Londonderry, what commonalities would we find? If she exited off 91 at Exit 3 this places her on almost the same latitude as Londonderry,
and if we speculate that after the attempted call, her cell phone never receives the Londonderry ping and remains away from service, does this place her on Rte 10 going north?
Did she place a landline call to AAA?
Was AAA the Londonderry ping?

JMO, This is one of the few questions I ever asked on MMM.

I believe Helena spoke with Fred and stated that he communicated with NHSP early on but had not heard from them in years. Whether this has changed I do not know. I asked this question about a year and a half ago.

years?! terrible. i want to trust that the "authorities" are doing the right thing, but looking at the picture with Fred at the site of the tree/blue ribbons/poster it's hard to imagine how he keeps going without feedback to sustain his quest. a parent can never give up hope.

I am not a member or close personal friend of Maura's family, but it is also my understanding that her family has NOT been updated by NHSP / LE in at least several years, and it is a fact that NHLE did actively prevent Fred from obtaining the police report and other documents that are and should be public records.

I have no problem in the world with LE not telling the family everything that's happening in an ongoing investigation, but to not update them at all is very wrong.

Hello all,

I just checked out the official web page of the NHSP.
Maura is certainly featured on the section for missing persons in NH and there is even a clickable link attached for more information about her and her distressing and heartbreaking case.
So far, so good, but when did the NHSP actually last communicate with the Murray family and, for that matter, with the media?
Is there actually an ongoing investigation into Maura´s case?
It would seem so, but why this seemingly total silence from the NHSP?
I certainly realise that there are many aspects of an ongoing investigation which cannot be relayed to the media and perhaps in some cases even to the nearest family.
Even so, as far as I can judge from Europe there is hardly any new media coverage of Maura´s disappearance in the US media, be they national, regional or local, with the exception of the 20/20 TV episode earlier this summer.
This lack of media coverage, I find very worrying and detrimental as for furthering Maura´s cause.

When did any of you see any new media interest in Maura´s disappearance?

Exit 3 off 91 in Vermont would certainly be an interesting possibility. Since the damage to the front of the Saturn might have been made by an ICC bar, maybe looking for a tractor trailer truck or driver that makes regular deliveries in the area would be helpful. Might exist a common factor of some kind. Just a guess.

Unless she missed the first two exits off 91 for a clinical at Brattleboro Hospital, she might have been heading up toward Putney, Westminster, or Bellows Falls. Possibly even Chester, VT, which seems to be a popular place for some reason. Putney/Westminster would put her about 100 miles from Haverhill.

If the car was towed to Haverhill, especially any substantial distance, maybe the tow truck driver was simply told where to leave it. Seems unlikely, but possible.

Ever see an Alfred Birdsey? Still dreaming between pink sheets? And all this time I thought boiler rooms were in the basement. Like PBJ Florida Securities. But that family's smart, they're diversified. Kind of surprised a holy name like Louisville Slugger hasn't caught the side of my head yet.

Hmmm - what does anyone know about that place? I happen to know of a lawyer that preys on elders and is associated with the bank.
I know it's off topic...but funny it's mentioned here. Don't need a long explanation...but something understandable. Please advise. Many thanks.

Just speculating that she either did clinicals at or volunteered at (or maybe simply had friends at) a shelter in Northampton and at a counseling center in Amherst. While there may be some congenial overlap between these two groups, there is probably not much love lost between them.

After learning that she had disappeared, some of the people at these two places became very involved in helping to find her. Or at least discover - if foul play was involved - who might have abducted her. Little did this group realize that they were being manipulated by a very clever PI who was already on the payroll of some people in Connecticut who had assisted with the abduction.

After Vasi was hit, someone on the side, unrelated to Maura, realized he was very vulnerable financially. He found out that Maura knew about the hit and decided she and the car had to go.

Or there's the stolen art scenario. Many pieces of art, often with questionable origin, make their way from Connecticut, especially Stamford and Farmington, up I-91 into Vermont and probably beyond. This art is stolen and sold before the owner knows it's missing. It's not like someone breaks into a house in Greenwich some night and the next morning the owner notices his Renoir is gone. It's usually much less expensive stuff. It's removed, one way or another, often from classy storage units, and sold at least once or twice over before the owner knows it's gone.

Same thing with college art museums, which in the Amherst area, are often the beneficiary of some alum's collection or partial collection, which is nice enough a gift, but not usually worth millions. As a courtesy to the benefactor, whom they don't want to offend, the college art museum takes all that's given. Most goes into storage, a few things, maybe, go on the wall.

But the stuff in storage is not worthless. It's not big bucks, but it's still worth, in many cases, a few thousand each. And once in a while there's probably a gem worth more among the stored items. Often there are valuable books and other interesting items such as correspondence and mementoes. Most of it simply sits on shelves for many years.

Ditto for scientific instruments. Take Amherst College, for example. A couple of years ago their geology department got rid of a bunch of old stuff in the back room. Most of it consisted of microscopes, surveying equipment, and the like. They took it to an auctioneer. Almost all the stuff was sequentially sold, about an hour into the auction, as individual items and part of one consignor lot. But there was one tiny, little, worthless looking surveyor's compass segregated from the rest of the lot and placed way at the back of the room for sale at the end of the night.

Only three attendees realized it was a compass made in France at the end of the 18th or beginning of the 19th century. It opened at $10 and was sold for only $100 because the third person who was obviously ready to bid after the underbidder dropped out was cut out of the bidding, never recognized. In other words, the compass was sold to a previously designated buyer for a song. In common terms, it was stolen from the consignor. The compass "buyer" almost certainly took exit 3 on his way home that night. Not that he’s involved in Maura’s disappearance, but that's just one example of how the stolen object system works. Exit 3 has some very definite shady activity going on nearby. There are other variations, but often a storage unit facility or auction gallery is used to launder stolen merchandise.

Of particular interest, but rarely seen, is German Expressionist art. I don’t anything about the subject, but a lot of this art, often owned by Jews, was destroyed by Hitler’s Third Reich, especially in the late 1930’s. IIRC, Nuremburg 1937 saw an especially violent rage. But a lot of German Expressionism, to most people’s eyes, looks like junk. These days it’s called restituted art, much of which is worth millions.

It’s very possible that Maura either learned something she shouldn’t have or was somehow regarded as a risk by someone with a lot to lose. Or Maura may have intended to meet someone in Vermont, quite possibly southern Vermont, about something she didn’t really understand.

I think both the Vasi scenario and the stolen art scenario are more realistic than may be apparent. If Maura worked at an art gallery and if she took exit 3 in Vermont, then the possibility of stolen art should receive, by LE, at least a little attention. On the other hand, if Maura’s face was not on the ATM security tape, then maybe something very different happened.

Not being curt, but since most lawyers are associated with a lot of banks, it's probably not related.

But a certain shell company in Boca Raton had a unique relationship, though a couple of companies like Patron Systems and Pelican Mobile, to American Savings.

Oh, did I leave out N. Herndon Ave? So sorry.

I think there is a better than 50/50 chance that Maura Murray was abducted by or with the assistance of what amounts to a loosely organized group of criminals from mostly central/western Connecticut. I think many of these people have direct ties to the corruption case of former Governor John G. Rowland. I think if the Rowland scandal is properly examined, then Maura's disappearance will move much closer to a useful explanation. I also believe that a current Franklin County police officer is marginally involved in covering up Maura Murray's disappearance.

you're dropping clues like crazy...that have probably been going right over people's heads. ya'think?
the potential for stolen art from amherst via CT has come up over and over again...if i recall from beagle bart's posts - you know him?! ;-)
i'm familiar with the farmington area...and suspect portions of my family's estate(s) were lost to auctioneers in wethersfield...but i don't get what you're driving at specific to maura.
you lost me...
