Some facts that people who live in the area should already know - "north of the river" beyond SBDs house would mean going down what looks to me like quite a steep and undoubtedly icy as well as unfamiliar river bank into a freezing river. A river which looks plenty deep and full of holes and big rocks. Would you cross that river at night, in an unfamiliar place, knowingly risking your life to avoid...what?

Or... going back into the "village" of Swiftwater and crossing the covered bridge???

And...you're assuming that people, including SB, would not have searched these places already?

Witness protection??? Seriously? That's not what Maurice Godwin has said he thinks, on several occasions.

big question is did the searches focus on areas along dirt roads (like the rutted one to french pond), paths and trails? or along back roads where a car would have access to leaving off a victim of crime? or did they search way, way off-trail? with dogs? public probably doesn't know this stuff.

I have to disagree about your statements about the dogs losing her scent at the SBD residence. With a full blown search the police would have brought in their blood hounds, When dogs lose the scent the handler will execute a circular pattern search and try to pick up the scent again. The blood hounds can follow a trail several days old. Now, I don' know how long it was before they did bring in the dogs and what exactly happened to the scent, from everything I have read it appears it was lost in front of the SBD's house. Even if the traffic had diffused the scent at the intersection it still would have been strong on the side of the road or in the woods if she had taken that route.

I'm aware of the good works of Maurice Godwin and have nothing but respect for him. Naturally, I hope he's wrong but have they searched all his places yet so we can say we know? I'm still interested in the A frame and the DNA from the carpet they took out. London bridges scare me.

The dogs stopped there, they were confused and we really don't know if those new gloves were worn by Maura or not. She's just gotten them as a gift over holiday

They used gloves, that it was not known if they had been worn? Why didn't they get a scent with a good piece of clothing with a strong scent. I learned this many years ago, from rabbit hunters, if a dog doesn't return, leave your jacket beside where you had parked and the dog will find its way back and stay by the jacket. Hounds have wonderful noses and can do many great things when searching for missing people.

How can you sit there and say that people are withholding evidence in these cases...especially when law enforcement hasn't even followed up on all of the leads...I happen to know for a fact that someone called to speak to Hubbard and Bruno directly with the name of one of the people involved in Tom's murder. They were told that neither was in and to leave a message. The message they left simply stated that they had overheard some locals talking about who had murdered Tom and what the motive for planning it was. Then they left their name and number. They never received a reply back. I would like to hear your excuses as to why LE wouldn't return a phone call with actual information pertaining to a murder that they can't solve like that and yet they would bother tracking down people that haven't come forward with information. It sounds to me like you are more likely to get a response from LE to a tip if you keep your mouth shut. You talk about it being a crime to withhold information? What about the crime LE has committed against Betty and her family for not following through on such important information? Let me guess you guys just have so many people calling left and right with the names of murderers that the messages get lost in the shuffle?

This is a hugh problem with the NH MAJOR CRIME UNIT!!!!!
I am as unhappy as you and many others are since i have been told from Robert Bruno that he was going to retire as he couldn't trust any of the investigators in his unit Troop F and that they don't do thier job and I am documenting all of this!!!!!!
I have calls in to Hubbard and after 6 months I gave up as he never returned my calls either so soon as I havew enough evidence I will procecute all and everyone who hasn't been doing thier job or are responsible for the death of Tom Conrad from Pike N.H. and the Murray case the same no matter whether they are locals or Feds or Investigators,,So if your reading this blog you Lazy Bastards I will be after you guys as well after I Jail the murderers ok!!!!!!!!!
