Can you provide the time that Fred dropped her off on Sunday the 8th? We need to update Wikapedia - it says time unkown. That would help with the timeline.

Sorry, but will all due respect to Det Columbo, that is still not enough of an authority for me.

Speaking for myself and no one else I wonder how he came to the conclusion that it definitely wasn't Maura. He may say it wasn't but why doesn't he say how he came to the conclusion?
Did he go to the church and talk to them, did he see a picture, did he talk to the man that saw her?
I think there would be so fewer questions if statements weren't thrown out as facts with nothing to explain how they became a fact.JMHO
Hello Wowzer,

I couldn´t have said it better myself.
Your message above just about sums it all up.
Glad to see that there are critical thinking people around here...
Indeed, how did Det Columbo come to arrive at that particular conclusion?
Perhaps he may be good enough to tell us?

Does anyone have any statistics on dogs and scent. Such as, if they picked up her scent, does it mean 100% she was there? Or is there room for error on the dogs part? Any thoughts on this?

What would you consider an acceptable authority then? Who would you believe?(especially if they posted it on a public message board)

I'm not trying to be a smart-ass, I'm trying to actually learn this from you. What, in your book, counts as acceptable proof?

It's a question that we might all consider asking ourselves. Not even necessarily in the legal sense, ie for a conviction, as in Mason's poll, but for our own purposes, as we are, on these boards.

Hello....

You must be mistaken...... I believe that I have not mentioned Raykel or anything about her in any of my posts. If I am wrong, Sorry, but my memory has no recollection of discussing this or any other forum.

Just putting together the fact that a supposed witness said saw Maura Sunday morning, but her dad says he dropped her off in the afternoon. This is yet another inconsistent witness account, but in Amherst not New Hampshire. That is really odd. It is as if we have zero factual information on this case, but why is that. Either the witness was lying(why) or Fred is lying(why).

Mason, A former MMM poster stated that she watched a video of the search dog at the scene of that search. Do you suppose it was a news televsion report? Maybe it is possible to find?
Mason wrote:
<quoted text>
Here's a quote from Maribeth Conway's article in the Whitman-Hanson Express regarding the scent trail.
"Wednesday's efforts did produce one significant lead. The lone search dog on the scene was given a black leather glove from Maura's car to sniff. Though the dog did not get any hits in the adjacent wooded area or from nearby homes, the dog did track Maura's scent near the intersection of Bradley Hill Road 100 yards eastbound from where her car was found.
***
The abrupt loss of Maura's scent in the middle of the road prompted officials to speculate that Maura got into a passing vehicle. Whether she did so voluntarily or was forced remains open to question."
Now you need to figure out where her car was and measure the 100 yds from there, which you can do with Google Satellite. From a combination of sources, I've estimated the crash site to be halfway between the curve and the Bradley Hill intersection, or 125 yds from either one. The scent trail, therefore, must end 25 yards before the intersection. I'm not satisfied this location is 100% accurate, but don't know how to be more precise without police reports.

also - with the phone records. Keep in mind that the phone company is regulated by the FCC. Feds - so to get info is not easy. Again - I want someone to go to the courthouse . please..... What I don't get is big deal if someone called from LondonBerry - to find out it was LondonBerry you already know WHO called her. That is the million dollar questions - who called her cell? I need this clarified becasue it makes me think other things here could just be 'theories" or painted in a view that a specific person wants you to see it. not pointing fingers - things get changed when passed from one to the next. I would bet my bottom dollar - there is NOT a file with the LondonBerry call..... I want to know who it was not where they were located.. Any locals willing to at least put this issue to bed on the forum?

What makes you say that? This web site is not for UMass Boston or any other UMass campus. It is for UMass Amherst.
UMass Boston, for example, has its own website, its own school of nursing and health studies, and its own clinical requirements; to wit, from the UMass Boston College of Nursing and Health Sciences handbook (http://www.CNHS.umb.edu/current/handbooks/doc... )
General Statement Regarding Clinical Policies and Procedures:
Nursing students are introduced to patient care, the health care system, and the nursing and health care professions through clinical experiences. CNHS offers clinical experiences in a variety of settings including Boston area hospitals, community organizations, and other health care agencies.
The CNHS maintains contractual agreements for clinical experiences with numerous agencies.
I hope this clears up any questions, moose.
Because I am a UMass Boston grad student and that is the same list they gave us.........

I don't understand this. I honestly don't. Every time it was asked (usually by Philip, actually) it was ANSWERED. Answered answered answered, except when I and others got tired of answering it. Yet every time it was answered, the rejoinder was that it was impossible. It's not impossible. It's A FACT.
Go back and reread the earlier pages of Topix. Those of you who apparently have some pages of the MMM forum archived--of whom Philip is one--go back and see. Helena answered this the first time it was asked. And many subsequent times. I answered it myself a number of times in the past four or five months--that it was KNOWN. I'm not the only person who answered, either, because I couldn't remember the name of the location--someone else answered "norwood."
When specifics were asked, the questions were ignored. If you knew all along it was norwood hospital, then why not just come out and say it, and not just imply that it was somewhere in norwood? Where in holyoke were the clinicals? there are several sites in holyoke that are used throughout the umass campuses. It would be helpful to look at the rate of assaults, threats against nursing students, don't you think? Every clinical site has data on that type of information--that's part of what goes into a clinical site being picked--how safe, or unsafe it is/has been. It's one of the reasons I'm at Umass boston--statistically the clinical sites are safer than the ones I encountered for my BSN.

Did Maura Murray ever meet or come into contact with, even unknowingly, former Gov. John G. Rowland of Connecticut?

How can I doubt what Helena said since I've got no other information!? But it never hurts to express what your (i.e., MY) common sense questions.
I am still curious about liability for accidents and injuries of nursing students sent far distances. Maybe Mason know the LAW PART. I mean, they make you sign waivers when you take a swimming class in case you slip on the tile!
All nursing students are required to have health insurance, and I know I had to also show proof of auto insurance at each nursing school I have been to.

Yes Dawn, A high ratio of Sex Offenders in Woodsville (7)

Perhaps you have been to the following site....the other towns surrounding/abutting are Bath, Benton, Piermont, Warren..and Haverhill.(Woodsville is a district of Haverhill)

I haven't added up the populations of these towns, however it would be under 10K...a minimum of a dozen registered....

(I live in a Town, in MA of 10K...no Registered Sex Offenders)

Hello Detective Columbo,

Many thanks for your interesting clarification there.
So, despite what FireCat was purporting, you are definitely not the source for the supposed conclusion that "Raykel" has been ruled out as possibly being Maura.

So, FireCat, who is the source for this very doubtful supposition?

I would be most keen to find out.
Many thanks on beforehand for your information.
