What about at Fearing and Sunset getting pizza? Like maybe a model railroader who was in the immediate vicinity? Something like that?

Boy, there's a lot about the architecture of Amherst to admire, isn't there? Take Town Hall, for example. Richardsonian Romanesque, I think they call it. Nice clock tower and all. The building was so well liked that when the Amherst PD finally moved out of the basement, the Town of Amherst built a new police station almost next door in what you might call a lean version of the Romanesque style. I'm sure those architects have a name for it. The new APD building is to be highly admired. Excellent design.

So maybe it's a truck driver with an interest in model railroading? Guess no one ever thought of that.
A truck driver who just might possibly know someone at Fearing and Sunset? Maybe. Who knows? Who even cares? Dollars to donuts, as the saying goes, the perp will be at the railroad show at the Big E. |

Helena and I sent out flyers to several churches in the Haverhill area in the spring of 2006. I don't know what, if anything, became of that. |

[Gregory] Pincus first received national attention in 1934, when he announced that he had achieved in vitro (inside a test tube) fertilization of rabbit eggs. His claims led to a great deal of speculation in the newspapers over the implications of his work. The New York Times ran a story on its science page under the headline,“Rabbits Born in Glass: Haldane-Huxley Fantasy Made Real by Harvard Biologists.” Pincus had transferred the developing eggs to living hosts, which were sacrificed before the embryos grew to term, so the rabbits were not “Born in Glass” but only conceived in test tubes. Nevertheless, the Times pictured Pincus as a sinister character bent on hatching humans in bottles.

From Wikipedia:
Although menopause is a natural barrier to further conception, IVF has allowed women to be pregnant in their fifties and sixties. Women whose uterus has been appropriately prepared receive embryos that originated from an egg of an egg donor. Therefore, although these women do not have a genetic link with the child, they have an emotional link through pregnancy and childbirth. In many cases the genetic father of the child is the woman's partner. Even after menopause the uterus is fully capable of carrying out a pregnancy. ********** Was Louise Chaput buying human eggs? Or some kind of natural pharmaceuticals? Drugs of some kind? Was she meeting someone connected to the Molly Bish disappearance? Or was it just a random attack? |

From Wikipedia:
Although some mistakenly consider Gamete Intrafallopian Transfer (GIFT) to be in vitro fertilisation, it is not. With GIFT, fertilisation takes place inside the body, not on a Petri dish. The Catholic Church nevertheless does not condone it because "Some theologians consider this to be a replacement of the marital act, and therefore immoral." |

Sorry, I don't see why Chaput's death was necessarily a "murder for thrill." Maybe it was, but maybe it was not. Wasn't her body found only a little ways up the trail she was believed to be hiking? Don't sometimes two people meet at semi-remote locations for a variety of reasons? Such as drug deals, blackmail, affairs, all kinds of things? And is it not unusual for people who are meeting someone, for reasons they don't want known (even reasons of personal convenience), to make up a story for the hotel clerk, friends, family, etc? Something like, "I'm going to get a short hike in before dark." Sure, her murder could certainly have been a random attack, but maybe not. At one time some people were even speculating that she was followed from Canada by one or more members of a biker gang, IIRC. Maybe Chaput was meeting someone connected to the Bish disappearance. After all, someone who resembles the person in the Bish person-of-interest sketch, and who was very familiar with the area where Bish's remains were found also lived near where Chaput's body was found. Not that thousands of FBI agents need to dispatched, but some effort on some level would seem warranted, IMHO. I don't think a connection between the Bish and Chaput cases is really out of the question. I'm not saying a connection is probable, just that it seems like it's worth looking into further. I asked this question earlier. Two posters wrote, in plain English, that the connection should be looked into further. One poster gave, if I understood the answer correctly, a qualified "no." |
