There's a man in Springfield in a unique position to shed a lot of light on this. Will LE talk with him? No, of course not. They're too busy looking for and harassing people who might question some of the scientific research and related ethical behavior that go on at the University of Massachusetts.

To have achieved nothing with the paltry 71 human eggs obtained by Advanced Cell Technology is a patent absurdity (bad inside joke). Even the creation of a chimpanzee embryo at the Oregon National Primate Research Center (headed by the late Dr. Bruce Ivins's nemesis, Nancy L. Haigwood) required 150 chimp eggs for just one embryo.

Sorry, should have read, "Expecting to achieve any success with the paltry 71 human eggs obtained by Advanced Cell Technology is a patent absurdity (bad inside joke)."

Neither DA Elizabeth D. Scheibel nor DA Joseph D. Early, Jr. will ever permit their staffs to consider the possibility that Maura Murray or Molly Bish were the victims of scientific research or opposition to it. Why?

UMass has, or recently had, a substantial financial interest in the field of Embryonic Stem Cell Research (ESCR).
Two of the nation's leading ESCR companies have a very interesting connection to an office basically across the street from where Maura Murray lived at SW - the same office that owned the school bus company and employed the bus driver (Haverhill NH).
Much of the basic and originating embryonic stem cell research was done at or in close association with the University of Massachusetts.
I don't believe that UMass has a big incentive to find out what really happened to Maura Murray.
In fact, I believe that some figures at or closely associated with UMass have a substantial interest in making sure no one ever knows what happened to Maura Murray.
I believe that the UMass Police Department is not the right agency to investigate Murray's disappearance. There is just too great a potential for a conflict of interest. The UMass PD should rid itself of even that appearance by handing over the Murray investigation to a more independent agency or task force.
I understand that you have personal reasons for not being a big fan of the UMass Police Department, Alden. Speaking of "conflict of interest".

Well I'd start with the last family member to speak to Maura and work my way out to friends
at UMASS.

Did CW refuse you the PI's?

How do you know he refused LE?

Do you know where the tests are given.

What facts do you have that CLEARLY PROVE HE REFUSED?

Very interesting something that nursing students certainly would know about now wouldn't they.
Anyone know the exact time frame to donate costs involved?
Seems pretty good way to pay for oh say a LARGE CREDIT DEBT ON A PARENTS DIME AND MAYBE A WRECKED
CAR OR TWO hum?
What's the recovery time?
Would explain why a condo would be more usefully
than say a hotel room would be.

"We could go to one woman, harvest 10,000 eggs, and do all the research that anybody wanted with a single, or even a CADAVERED, donation of eggs." [emphasis mine]
If a harvest of approximately 10 eggs was fetching about $5,000 at the time, then what would 10,000 eggs from one woman be worth? What's 10,000 times 5,000?
FIFTY MILLION DOLLARS?
One dead woman's eggs are worth $50,000,000????
That's plenty of incentive for someone to try. There was a mobile unit cruising the roads of western and central Massachusetts, at the time of Bish's disappearance, looking for human eggs. There were advertisements in the Boston Globe.
And there was somone, other than the man in Florida, in a unique position to abduct Molly Bish.
Maybe the Florida man is guilty, maybe not. The Bish investigation has certainly been there before. After 8 years, maybe it's time for a fresh look at alternative explanations for Molly Bish's death.
And for the disappearance of Maura Murray.

Beagle ~

Most recently, you've restated: "There was a mobile unit cruising the roads of western and central Massachusetts, at the time of Bish's disappearance, looking for human eggs. There were advertisements in the Boston Globe."

***Very distressing, if these statements are true. Aside from raising awareness in the general public, where can you bring this information? Who can be effectively responsive and act upon your concerns?***

You state: "I believe that the UMass Police Department is not the right agency to investigate Murray's disappearance. There is just too great a potential for a conflict of interest. The UMass PD should rid itself of even that appearance by handing over the Murray investigation to a more independent agency or task force."

***Makes sense...but does UMASS continue to actively investigate to this day, to your knowledge, either alone or in conjunction with local/state/FBI agencies? Or did their role end sometime in the course of the past 5 years?***

Also stated: "And the search for immortality, especially if it seems so scientifically close, will not always bring out the most ethical behavior in people.
And neither will the effort to oppose it."

***While all of the concerns you mention relate to theoretical and applied bioethics....you have also developed specific connections that you believe directly touch upon the disappearances of Bish and Maura Murray.
Which of us here is in a position to affirm or deny your research?
While I am not one to turn my back on something about which I strongly believe, I would also be concerned about personal risks and obvious consequences for challenging/inferring/accusing enterprises and public institutions of wrongdoing, Beagle.***

White Wash, I see where you're going with this, and it's a very interesting thought, but ... I'm sure the procedure would need to be done in a hospital or clinic, and is there a hospital or clinic in the White Mtns area where it could be done? Am thinking probably not.

I'm also unsure what "a wrecked car or two" has to do with the equation. But indeed, you've at last framed Beagle's theory in a way that I can see it possibly having something to do with Maura.

How would it incur a large debt on a credit card, though? Don't they pay you?

I read it as a means to get money to pay a credit card debt.

I would venture to guess (nice folksy phrase) that the removal of eggs is a high-tech operation, requiring sterile procedures, etc. etc. That being said, my first thought was.... if someone sold their eggs (this is really ridiculous) and had a rogue doctor (rogue cops, rogue doctors, i don't think so) remove the eggs for payment, would the patient, if hiding somewhere, say a closet in an A-frame house in Haverhill, leave behind what might be identified as menstrual blood?

This is sooooo far-fetched an idea I think I'll give myself a few peanuts.

I guess posters above are thinking that Maura might have been looking for a way to pay off credit card debt, the out-of-pocket costs for Fred's Toyota's accident, and the cost of the crashed Saturn. Maybe even school-related costs if she wasn't going back.... I mean even if tuition wasn't to be billed, there are always a zillion things like Student Activity Fees, etc. etc.

I don't think any of this makes sense. In terms of Maura deciding to sell her eggs, I have to say I think the idea is scrambled.

By the way, the cows with holes in their sides for research and observation and said to live longer lives than intact cows because any problems in their stomachs can be diagnosed earlier. I still pray I never see one.

I am thinking Maura was not planning to ever set foot on the UMass Campus again. Why? She has this kind supervisor, K, who views Maura as a friend, not just a subordinate. K shows Maura compassion, assistance in getting home, guidance in suggesting Maura go over to Counseling, thoughtfulness and caring in giving Maura her cellphone number, and the generosity to tell Maura to call her {this is my interpretation of her based on the "nuances" of the offer) anytime she needed to (i.e., K was willing to be awakened even later in the middle of the night if Maura was still upset (speculation)). SOOOOO, if Maura ever returned to UMass and ran into K, who by then would have (probably) found out that MAURA DID NOT HAVE A ROOMMATE, I think K would be so hurt to have been lied to and I should think Maura would NOT want to see her. So, I'm sure I'm not done with line of speculation, but I don't think Maura even planned to be the one to clear out her room. She was outta there!

So the call about a suspicious Red Pickup Truck off the road, driver out of the vehicle, was not logged in? All other suspicious people and vehicles were.

Did I already post this?

Did the poster who sighted Maura with a man in line in the convenience store take a look at the man arrested in Florida --- the one with a resemblance to Molly Bish's suspect the mom saw in the car at the pond?

Personally, I think the Burno guy looks more like the sketch of Molly's possible killer than the Florida guy. I can't provide links. We all have to look for ourselves. I'm too dispirited to do it myself.

This is not totally off-topic. I'll connect it to Maura: I believe there is a slim chance that Maura stood, possibly off to the side of the road, near the end of her scent trail of 112, and that a maniac killer stopped and she left in that private vehicle. My personal guess is that the chance of that happening at that spot and time is around 10%. I mean, so who drove by (this is a guess) while Maura is there?... one worker going home from Cottage Hospital, say one school bus driver, say 2-3 families, say the red truck as it heads west and drives past RO, say one other car we read about in some article where the driver offers assistance and is also refused... and, the last person is a serial killer? Well, now that I said that, maybe there is a 1/6 chance that happened...

HAS ANYONE DONE A STUDY ON THE WEATHER, TEMPERATURE, ETC. AT THE TIMES GIRLS LIKE MAURA, JENNIFER KESSE, HOLLY P, SARAH PRYOR, MOLLY BISH, THE ATTEMPT ON THE JOGGER BY BURNO, ETC. WERE GRABBED? Just a thought. In my experience with many peaceable flashers, they came out in the spring --- at least that's what a local cop told me. He said, "the first warm day" and I realized that was the EXACT SAME TIME Carpenter Ants come out. Now I'm sounding weird, but my point is that if I were a perp I'd rather be chasing someone around when it's warmer out. Trying to grab a girl in ice and snow and snowbanks and in a neighborhood where everyone is watching and some have called LE? So HAS a study been done on weather and temperature and abductions?

If there was no log of the call about a suspicious red truck on BH road, then I'd guess either there WAS NO CALL, or maybe it was told informally to LE, like for example Butch telling Cecil in person or on private cellphones....

Are you saying that 1 in every 10 random people driving by that spot on any given night is a maniac killer? No way.

Think about it. Isn't there more of a chance that a random person picking her up from the side of the road aided her in getting away rather than killing her?

That being said, I don't think anything about her disappearance was random.

Looks like you have done your research on "eggs". What hospital are ACT/UMass affiliated with that condone stem cell/egg harvesting? I think this is very interesting I might add - I just saw on CNN that people who have lost their jobs can get 10,000 now for one egg for IVF.
I am NOT convinced this has to do with Maura - This still would not explain her packing her dorm - the phone call - buying liquor - and the car crash....... If she had planned to sell an egg ( doubt it) she would have left things like normal and just took a few days off - called her dad - billy saying she was going with girlfriends for a short trip so they would not worry about her regular phone calls each night.
Still want to know what hospitals are - pro life there.

Yeah but this was all in the latest x-files movie, so its gotta be true. There was even a psychic x-priest that was molested as a child by a priest.
