Everyone in the world knows you can just dump your car off at Jerome Ave. NYC, and it will be stripped in under a minute.....no questions asked.
Mass transit at your fingertips.

My understanding is that there was more than one pair of gloves in the car.

Maybe I'm getting it mixed with the Karen Ayotte in the nursing school office.

Sure about the M?

Is there any reason New Hampshire Attorney General Kelly Ayotte could not be respectfully asked whether she is related to anyone who worked at UMass in February 2004 - someone with the same last name? Nothing is necessarily implied by such a question, but a negative answer would surly help rule out a potentially disturbing possibility, no matter how small.

Speaking of mis-educating others I misquoted the NH Missing Adults Law adopted by NH in 2005.

Information on the Missing Adult is submitted to NCIC which is the National Crimes Information Center - FBI Information Systems.

Karen Mayotte.
Kelly Ayotte.

Two different last names, an unfortunate conincidence of closeness. The freudian slip typo amused me as well.:)

http://www.southshorexpress.net/content/view/...

........."search was conducted on May 8. Canine teams with six dogs and 15 Fish and Game officers searched the area where ........"
(I believe the above was May 2004)

........."Valley Road in Woodsville was the site of a search by private investigators in October, 2006. Cadaver dogs trained
to track the fluids of decomposing ........."
(I don't believe that SP were involved)

>From page 19 of Grafton County Sheriff's Dept. Dispatch....CS arrived 19:46:20 cleared 21:26:16
Pumper arrived 19:57:12 cleared 20:49:07, EMS Unit arrived 19:56:08 cleared, 20:02:13.
(Breaking it down....? Possibly 8 firefighters..? 2 EMS/emt's...? 1 police officer..means to me that were more witnesses than just neighbors....add to that an off duty SP Monaghan.....? I don't know what specific section/department he was with...but, was transfered within, since then)
The narrative sections are confusing to me, as it differs from any other writings after that.
There is no mention of SP being present....(In those 32 pages I did find SP mentioned in other calls)

As far as photographs being taken at the scene that night, I don't believe that was mentioned or made known to/by family or investigators before the Journal Opinion article in February, 2008. Gads, one would think that Fred could see them....
Then one would know for a fact that they exist, of course date stamped. Which brings me to another thought...I don't know if investigators ever communicates with Fred and/or family...like words of "we haven't forgotten...we are working on it"....
Please pardon my occasional bouts of optimism......It doesn't happen often.....

Okay, that's helpful.

Kelly Ayotte is the NH AG.

Karen Ayotte is in the UMass nursing school office.

Karen Mayotte is the security supervisor.

The "M" is a fact because it's in a smalltown newspaper story? I mean snow banks, trees, alcohol odors, police reports, suicide, tow trucks, and so on are routinely doubted, but a reporters accuracy in recording an easily mis-heard, or mis-pronounced name is considered fact?

Would Maura have said that she did not need to be escorted all the way to her dorm room because her roommate would console her? Is that something Maura would have said?

On the theory that Maura's Saturn may have hit Vasi, it's less likely that Maura was driving it since her time on the security desk was fairly closely observed. So if her car hit Vasi, most likely someone else was driving it. The question then would have to be: Who was Maura close enough to that she would be so motivated to protect that she would be willing to take the car out of the area (maybe to have some body work done to erase any indication the car may have hit something/somebody)?

Initially, Vasi was on the critical list. By Monday, Feb. 9th, however, he had been upgraded to "serious". The fact he had improved might be motivation to feel it was "more okay" to conceal evidence than one might feel if Vasi was still in critical condition.

Maura was of very good character based on all we know about her, not really the type to cover up wrong-doing. However, she was also young, and suppose she heard something like the following from a dear friend she knew to be a good person:

"He walked right out in front of me, I couldn't avoid hitting him. It was totally an accident and it was mostly his fault - he was probably drunk anyway - but if they find out it was me that hit him, that's the end of my [nursing?] career forever, everything I've worked so hard for ... and I'll be in jail too."

Regardless of the "M" coincidence, the question is still the same. If Vasi was hit, who could have relied on Maura to keep quiet? As has been pointed out, not very many. The Vasi scenario may have its defects - and those should be openly debated - but so far, it explains just about everything from start to finish. It even supplies a very narrow field of possible

And if Maura reported that someone else was driving the Saturn, what's to prevent that person from turning right around and simply saying it was Maura who drove the Saturn? After all, it's Maura's car. Maura would be defenseless to deny it, wouldn't she? How could Maura possibly claim she was not the driver?
Maybe but no one has came forward saying anything like that!

Excellent observation. But if it is "less likely that Maura was driving" - and obviously Maura must have been told how the damage to her Saturn (Fred's Saturn, actually) occurred - then who could have relied on Maura to keep quiet about such a serious violation? Would Maura allow her father, as the vehicle's owner, to take the rap for her or for a friend?

If the Saturn hit Vasi, then the driver was able to put Maura - and possibly her father - into some kind of unique bind.

If, for example, Maura said to the police that Jane Doe was driving the Saturn when it hit Vasi, then which Jane Doe could have confidently, without fear of being contradicted, turned right around and told the police, "Maura is lying. Maura was driving the Saturn." How could Maura have denied that she was driving the Saturn? What alibi would she have had?

Who has tried to contact them?

I have communicated with one and am attempting contact with two others. The one I have contacted was close all though high school and they remained in close contact in college (despite being in different colleges), but Maura shared very little about Umass or her clinicals with her...she said most of what Maura shared was about Billy.

"Look, Maura, you're not going to say a word about this. You know why? Because I'm going to turn right around and tell the police that you were driving the Saturn late Thursday night. Now who are they going to believe? Me or you? And if they can't decide which one of us was the driver, they will simply pin it on your dad because he owns the car and under Massachusetts law, he's responsible. And even if there are no criminal charges involved, there is going to be one very hefty legal settlement with Vasi and his insurance company. So, what's it going to be? Either you go to jail, your father goes to jail, you and your father spend the rest of your lives paying off a huge lawsuit… or you and I ditch the car Monday night after dark up in New Hampshire. Those are your only choices."

Whiston, she ran at the Brown Invitational meet in Providence, RI on 4/13/02 she is listed as having finished 9th in the women's 3000 meter run. It lists her school as UMass, so I'm not sure why Julie Lafreniere is saying that maura didn't compete for them. Here's a link to the results:
