No investigation was discouraged in Amherst that I was aware of,none at all. Vasi has admitted to not knowing Maura. Therefore, I do not understand from whence you asserts stem? Speaks for itself.

I am still curious regarding the other tow truck that showed up at the accident scene. WHO call them in? Anyone remember this?

Elsewhere, I have was searching online for anything that may be related to Mauras disappearance and also trying to find that supposed missing person from Derby,VT that went missing on 2/9/09 and came across this page: http://snewzer.tripod.com/ and this isnt even all of the missing people.. I'm surprised too.. how can all these cases still be unsolved? Its crazy.. Also.. click the left hand "Unsolved Cases" box.. over a 30 year span.. do you see anything that stands out? Its quite odd.. As for the BOLO for that missing man from Derby, VT I haven't found ANYTHING about it.. Anyone else find anything about that?

I wonder how they know this. I've looked at some US news articles and they say there was no indication of foul play. Peri can you post a link to the news article that said it was highly suspicious? I'd hate to see another rumor turn into a fictional murder mystery. http://www.addisonindependent.com/node/1527

Here's one way of seeing the local view, which will immediately get dissed. There's a PI (not a NH PI) who is a retired state police detective and who is still friendly with a retired asst DA, who is now in private practice as a partner in a local law firm whose clients are, well, something of a mix. Two of the firm's clients work directly for and are masking their relationship, for purposes of local business conduct, with one of the world's wealthiest men who has one of the world's most famous names. This rich guy has certain large (and conventionally hidden) business interests - for example, Whole Foods Market - in common with some of the law firm's other clients. In fact, it appears that the PI employs on at least a part-time basis one of his old partners, another retired state police detective, who worked together in the Northwest DA's office, now occupied by Elizabeth Scheibel, a huge advocate of adoption. Near the end of the PI's state police career in a specialized unit at the center of the Bish investigation, a young man, totally innocent, was so badgered and intimidated by state police and Worcestor Co. prosecutors that he killed himself. He was still a teenager. The fact that this PI has been and probably still is on the payroll of someone from Connecticut at the very center of the Rowland corruption case (2004) and who represents, in a sense, the interests of people who would likely stand to lose if the real reason for Maura's disappearance were discovered... Well, the people who want to find Maura the most are being, in my opinion, duped by the people with the most to lose if the reason for her disappearance is ever found out. The PI's job is to keep this case from ever getting solved. Given his connections in the LE community around here, I doubt Maura's disappearance will ever be correctly understood. And it doesn't help matters if the Saturn was parked on property owned by a key player in the Rowland scandal and who is known to both the PI and the person who pays (or paid) the PI.

I recall seeing a semi loaded with flattened vehicles at a place on 302 on the right going east. Lisbon? Bath?

At one time a link to both of her maps of Missing Persons & Unsolved Homicides were on the NHSP official website but have since been removed. Not sure of the reason why. Helena has a blog that offers a pretty comprehensive listing of unsolved homicides in NH/VT/ME that might be of help. http://nhunsolved.blogspot.com This link might be of interest as well. http://framemaster.tripod.com/bigpicture.htm I am not sure if you are aware but Helena, Norma, and the moderators of MMM dedicated a separate section of Maura's forum for the Missing & Remembered throughout. It listed hundreds of unsolved cold cases throughout New England and beyond. Too bad the haters ruined it. I'm pretty sure the tone of this forum in the late is a perfect example of what I'm trying to convey. 125 unsolved homicides in VT/NH, it sounds like a few have been missed in everyone's research. I spent some time researching the BOL for the male in Derby after Det. Columbo posted it and was unable to find anything. Am hoping he has been found safe and well. I am still unsure which cases may be linked to Maura's and I am hoping the experts (STALK) have devised a profile. I am putting my faith in their hands as well as Det. Columbo's and Weeper's.

A lot of times a car will go off the road, in the winter, maybe get a little damaged. The driver will call AAA or a tow truck directly, and the tow truck will show up, load or hook the vehicle, and drive off with the car's driver as passenger in the tow truck. Cops are never called (unless by someone else) and so they never show up. So if the local police were busy with another call and received a relatively non-urgent call about a car that merely went off the road, no PI, then maybe it would allow time for a tow truck to get to the scene and drive off with the car. Neighbors would just think the driver got a tow truck and that was that. "Yeah, it did kind of look like a Saturn. Yeah, she did kind of look like that picture of Maura Murray." Remember that the original plan may have backfired because the local PD showed up much more quickly than expected and the car was still there. The unnamed tow truck probably had a scanner and could monitor PD voice traffic. Think of the Rt. 112 crash as having happened WITHOUT the PD getting there before the Saturn was towed away. It would then have been just another case of a car going off the road and getting towed by a tow truck. Nothing unusual in that. No reason to call police. The police officer, if he arrived there at all, would simply have gone on to his next call or whatever. Then that would have given the computer searches originating in Amherst a different significance. SOMEone might have put together the Saturn's getting towed from the snowbank on Rt. 112 with a report of Maura's disappearance, but there'd be very little positive ID because who would really bother to look so closely and remember so much? No one would have been asked about it for days. No one would have missed Maura for several more days, after Monday, if the Saturn had been towed semi-undetected Monday night. No one would really know exactly where she went to. That's possibly why the Saturn's crash was staged, if it was, near some houses on a sharp curve.

Told by WW that Northland Tow(ing) of Woodsville, NH was supposed to be in service that week/night. and that Lavoies was a mistaken choice. Snewzer was Silky's work.....Silky being one of the very first Forum members/contributors and attentive to this dreadful misjustice. I am still angry at her. ;-/

He said that a BOLO was put out for a 25 yr old Derby, VT man who had gone away for a week.. he left around the 9th and was supposed to be back a week later and never showed. He was driving a red truck was what Det C said the BOLO stated.. when I find it I'll post it. btw.. Thanks for clearing that up for me.
