This is something the significance of which is immediately grasped by the local community, but is entirely lost on the many distant posters.
And generally, there's no way to convey the history and complexity of it. In the end, conflicts LIKE this occasionally have bad results, such as someone goes missing or otherwise gets hurt. This kind of thing could be the result of a grudge match that began over a girl friend in high school. "All politics is local" is not an idle statement.
