What videos are you referring to, Mr. Bill?
Fred
The video that mcsmom posted links too in her post #15729.

They attempt to tie 6 of the killings to Nicholeau. It is an interesting link but there is nothing in the form of rebuttal so it is hard to know if its just someones fantasy (meaning the they disregard anything that doesn't fit in with their theory) or if the links actually exist. There is one retired officer. The rest have a vested interest in selling either services or books. The retired officer of course is getting free press.

Also even they only tie less than half of those deaths to Nicholeau instead of 13 and more depending on who is telling the story.

It is interesting show though.

Bill, here's an AP article from 1988.

"Task force focuses on border murders
A special New Hampshire-Vermont task force investigating
possible links in murders along their borders will
focus on four of the deaths. Assistant Attorney General
Robert Muh of New Hampshire said there is no concrete
evidence that any of the killings are linked, but that no
matter how many killers there are, they are still free and
may kill again.

Muh said the deaths the group will focus on include
those of two women whose bodies were found in woods in
the same section of Newport, who disappeared in 1984.
They were 27-year-old Ellen Fried of Claremont, whose
remains were found in September, and 17-year-old Bernice
Courtemanche, whose skeletal remains were found
last weekend.(AP)"

Since this task force was created in 1988 I suspect they made some form of determination by now. Does anyone know what it was? Did they think the cases were linked or not and if so which ones?

Here's a post from another forum which I believe may be related to the current topic of the Valley Killer and the task force mentioned in the above article.

"yes, i do have connection to these cases as well as a lot of inside information that dates back to the early 1980's. at one time there was a task force formed in this tri-state area. fingerprint and hair does not match up so far. there are still many suspects still out there, there just was never enough to wrap it up. its easy to build a circumstantial case against anyone."

elsewherebriefly, do we know who said this?

This is interesting but I am a very literal person when it comes to stuff like this. All the i's have to be dotted and t's crossed for me to pull it together, especially when lots of other possiblities exist. Especially when "they" are saying that hair and fingerprints don't match and that there are still lots of suspects out there. By definition that would mean its not a serial killer if they have fingerprints of different suspects.

Not being argumentative, just trying to understand.

Anne -
I think you have been a very thoughtful person. I still can't get over this post.

I think it would be a big step for a family member to talk openly with a stranger regarding the case.

I just can't imagine - having one of the Murrays over and pulling up her official missing persons website - www.mauramissing.com . That the family created.

If it was my sister and that was pulled up - just my opion - I would have walked out. I would just want to comfort them. I think the family is painfully aware of www.mauramissing.com .

You have always needed a birth certificate. I lived in a border town. It was not until RECENTLY you need a passport. You have always had to show citizenship. It was the same for Mexico. This has been the case since 2000 when I purchased my home. After 9/11 even more so - which of course was prior to 2004.

what border crossing do you think she would have passed through. I am happy to contact them.

I have never gone by Half Moon......... That is a new one. My name is Dawn - my given name - that is what is one my drivers license.

Ask Advocate or Quiji or even Fred - this is the only forum and advocates I have ever posted on. I came to this site after Cnn. You can go back and see that is the date/timeline I started posting. It was the article that showed her running.

Also - AGAIN - it was Johnny choice to PM me - which he has. I did not aske him to email and if he chooses to ask and do so. It really is not any of your business. Have a sparkling day

Why should anyone have to be careful? Why would we end up in court with FM? Are you insinuating a lawsuit? You've mentioned lawsuits more than once in this forum. Why?
Did you follow the link? I mention the fact that somone has been slandered - if you read my post AGAIN. I have said NUMEROUS times - that if someone said these things about my family - my words again - you bet I would take action and yes that would be in court. I would not put up with someone saying things about my family like that.

Again, Wowzer personal choice - mine - not yours. I am entitled to my personal opinion. The end.

Now lets get back to Maura.

I understand Bill.

There was a newspaper article published in the UL in 2001 I believe. It listed the unsolved homicides over the years and the statements on record were made by NH LE. The names of alleged victims of the Valley Killer were followed by an asterisk. There were also notations about certain cases followed by a # sign having circumstantial evidence but not enough to make a conviction. I believe all of the alleged victims of the Valley Killer had received numerous stab wounds.

I will try to go back and locate that article which was actually a (2) part series.

Uhm Dawn,

I do not mean to sound like I am undermining you but I have crossed through a number of Border check points into Canada, including one by ship in Maine.

I only recall using my driver's license each time and the check point in Portland Maine asked me where I was born and that was it. That was in 2000. My last pass through the country was in 2002. I actually accidently drove right through the check point the last time I left Canada (the US check point was a a small building). I immediately put my vehicle into reverse when the alarms sounded, explained that I thought a larger building was down further, and was detained for about an hour with the threat of a felony offense hanging over my head.

My sister is a Canadian citizen and yes it is much more difficult to cross over nowadays. I believe you do require a passport.

While I'm sort of on the subject, can anyone fill me in about any "accidental deaths" within 50 miles of Swiftwater that may not be so accidental - like Pauline Clark's? Thank you.
Don't think this was accidental, but have always found it to be curious....due to the date and the location.

I am not against the locals. What I am saying is that - a town can't be claimed as perfect. Wowzer said people could search once maybe twice.

I was in favor of the family being able to search. I would want to. Everytown has bad apples - mine included. Sorry if you misunderstood. I have seen comments from the family with a similar opinion.

Sorry if I offended you and am very grateful for those that searched. All I am saying is everytown is not perfect - or as Mason pointed out. DC.. I must have worded wrong. If you look back at my posts - I have been trying to get media attention.

Recently - asked how people from afar could contribute to fund the search - donated goods needed.

Lady Gray,

I did a bit of research on that case and found it to be curious how officials wanted to be sure to let the public know that the source of her death wasn't by gunshot wounds. I do not believe the cause of her death has ever been made public.
