US citizens returning from Canada are required - see the link that you posted - to provide proof of citizenship, which may be a passport OR a birth certificate or naturalization papers AND proof of identity which MAY be a drivers license or other official photo ID. That is the law. It is NOT a "big red flag" that US/Canadian border officials are enforcing the law as written.

I have had serious issues with some of SB's posts in the past and have even had a few choice words for her but it isn't fair to gang up on her like this. Try to at least give her enough time to catch her breath before trying to respond. While I hardly ever agree with her she tries to get her point across well and deserves the opportunity to lay her point out logically. Constantly body slamming her from all sides just doesn't seem right to me as having been on the receiving end of that more than once when it seemed that almost no one agreed with me. It’s hard to try to respond well to a question from one person when several others are also taking shots while you are trying to construct a response to the first question.

Not saying she shouldn’t be challenged just like anyone else. Just give her some room to breath so she can construct a cogent argument supporting her theory or contention.

Not that she needs or wants my help.

I agree the SBD saw Maura. My point is that I'd reach the same conclusion, if he said it wasn't Maura or if he wasn't sure, because the other evidence and lack of evidence leads me to reach that conclusion.

I don't trust uncorroborated eyewitness testimony because in test after test after test it has been proven to be no more likely to be accurate than flipping a coin.

Is it just the full moon or is there just a high percentage of jerks on this forum? There is more criticism,judging and belittling on this forum than I can stomach. Thank you Sophie and Elsewhere for not judging me and for all your help with the missing in New England. Bless you both.

1) I do not believe that we should be accusing SBD or the locals of anything, period

2) I believe that it would be foolish at best to refuse to look at any possibility, including the POSSIBILITY that a witness or other person could be lying. It is not up to us, unless we have actual proof, to make that determination - but I also wouldn't rule out the possibility.

3) it may be unlikely that a serial criminal may have abducted Maura, but it is certainly possible, and finding out if it is possible that serial criminals may or may not have been in the area on 2/9/04 IS something that this forum may be able to do.

4) anyone who thinks for one second that any person's sexuality could be construed as an excuse for "trashing" them is a homophobe. I am frankly baffled and disgusted that at this moment, in 2009, when at least 99% of the population of ANYWHERE (yes, even "the middle of nowhere") has a friend or family member who is gay or lesbian - whether you choose to know it or not, whether that person is "in the closet" or not - anyone could think otherwise.

I called the border control. Drivers license has NOT been valid since 9/11. Please call them. I told him that I had friends that passed on the east prior to the passport law - that is a violation on national security.

I agree with every point you listed, except your reference to LSD as being "patently incapable of debate." I doubt that's true, but he rarely posts here so I am unable to say one way or another.

For future reference, treat me with respect and I will treat you with respect. Twist what I say out of context and flame your strawman to denigrate me and question my motives, well, you better look out because I'm going to amuse myself at your expense.

You know a lot and you have a lot to contribute, but you should expect to be treated like shit when you suddenly appear and start flaming people.
