There are roughly 8 holmes in the first half mile of BHR the second one on the left has dogs and draft horses.

Right but the truck was supposedly spotted about 1/2 mile up by the driveway that goes to the two log cabins on the right.
In an earlier post I believe someone said the women was walking her dog on 112 when the dog started to act strange.
If I'm wrong I'm sure someone will step in.
I've never seen anyone walking a dog at night on BHR in the pitch dark.

mcsmom, I believe this is correct, they did not look at any of the belongings given to them by HPD until retrieved by NHSP. I believe the concentration was on searching for her. Kathleen stated to me that she had put everything in a closet. You are correct, they had no computer hookup.

Even if they didn't know how to turn on a computer and lacked any interest to find out, someone in the family or one of their friends likely knew enough to at least be aware of the possibility that the computer should be checked.
Were they all that clueless, or have we been misled?
Kathleen was in her third year at West Point and she didn't know how to turn on a computer?

Hi M Chaplin, were you in the area when this happened? I wonder why you think she was headed to Lincoln and for what reason? Thank you for what you can offer.

Most excellent question, Mr. Beagle.
The concern about dangerous sex predators using the internet to set-up meetings or dates with unsuspecting young girls and naive adult women has been a matter of public concern nationwide since well before February, 2004.
I think any responsible parent whose daughter was missing would want to review all of the potentially relevant files on the the missing daughter's computer to find out if some communications of a suspicious nature are present. I'd want someone who knows how to find erased files and recover them, which is something I don't know how to do. I think you need a special program to do it and I don't know how much it costs or if it's for sale to the public.
Her computer would have been the first and most important place to look for answers to Maura's disappearance, so much so, that I'm having difficulty understanding how any member of the family would have failed to realize that.
Now someone will say they didn't have the money to hire someone to do computer forensics. Your daughter is missing, what could be more important?

I don't remember it ever being stated what model it was.
A red truck with possible MA plates and wood sides (possibly a wood truck) was seen at the log cabin store looking suspicious. May possibly be the same but not sure.

Suzanne,
I believe it was Maura´s sister Julie who was at West Point, not Kathleen.
As far as I recall.

If so, thank you. My point though still stands - I think any one in that age range in 2004 would know how to turn on a computer and I am sure FW had to use a computer for his work.

Hi anne I moved in 01 but still visit as I have family and friends in the area. I remember reading about a vacation home in Lincoln and was thought that she was heading there. I grew up there and know pretty much every square inch of that country. I used to hunt and know every road, turn and driveway along 112. I have fished the wild ammonousic river from begining to end and it runs along 112 to bath.

So I receive nuts and wrong! Incredible the tone that exists here! It is truly inflamatory and wrong! It continuously make me note the beligerant sadness displayed on this site. Noone can help here unless they want a solution and it appears many would rather not have a solution because then how would they continue to draw attention to thenselves.

Well don't feel bad, I got incendiary and clueless for giving information on the truck.
Don't let it bother you Anne. Just let it bounce off like water on a duck.
And just in case you might have wondered,I wasn't the one to give you a wrong and nuts.

All I've seen for posts on here are from people who do not know the area and are trying to state things that are not true. It's not uncommon to see a woman walking her dog after dark on 112 You have a better chance of seeing god than you do a car after 8 oclock. It's a very remote area. The cabin store is the only store on 112 untill woodstock. The weathered barn which is right beside the accident scene is the only other business.

Not to mention any names *CoughNotYouCough* there are times when I know that a person is smart enough to do something on a computer, but they don't - its really common. And I can tell they aren't doing it on purpose - they really believe that they can't.

Some people just don't want to break anything just in case "an expert" comes along later and they botched something up.

In one sense, this is a real issue - because deleted files that rest in a hard disk's empty space are over written as space is used, even to save temporary files and Internet Cashe, etc.

But some times I'll have a person tell me (in effect) that the believe they will break something under normal use and circumstances.

If I've known them for a while I'll say - I believe you can do it - but otherwise - its just too awkward.

I remember when Detective Columbo mentioned the red pickup parked on Bradley Hill Road. I was very surprised because that was the first time I'd read anything about that and I couldn't and still don't understand why that information wouldn't have been a top priority to check out, given what RO said about the suspicious behavior of a person driving a red pickup truck near the Stage Stop convenience store about 30 minutes before Maura disappeared. She last saw it heading E/B on the 112 toward the Weathered Barn. The accident was only a mile from the store.

I have no idea how many red pickup trucks were in the area on February 9, 2004, and I have no specific reason to believe that the driver of that truck had anything to do with her disappearance. I don't even know if he turned down a side road before the Weathered Barn, for example, and none of the witnesses who live along the 112 between the Weathered Barn and the Bradley Hill Road intersection reported seeing such a truck.

Nevertheless, the scent trail leads me to believe that Maura got into a vehicle about 100 yards beyond the Saturn in the direction of the intersection.

Seems to me that a sighting of another suspicious red pickup truck about a half mile up Bradley Hill Road from the intersection around the same time might cause a person to wonder if the same red pickup was the subject of both sitings. If so, the truck would have passed by the place where Maura Murray got into a vehicle at approximately the same time she disappeared.

Can someone please explain to me why this possibility wasn't thoroughly checked out 5 years ago?

So, I asked if the witness was recontacted to verify the time and date of the sighting.

Okay, I know that I'm not entitled to know this information,

BUT

this matter should have been resolved 5 years ago.

Either it's a good lead or it isn't and if it isn't why was it mentioned for the first time a month or so ago?

I feel like I'm being played and I don't like it.

Mason, the accident happened right after the weathered barn. The barn is only about 15 feet from the tree she hit. BHR is only about 100 yards further on the right.
