More and more I think Maura was dealing with something medical - mentally or physically. This would be something one may not share with friends. Maura would appear to be fine from the outside - but inside maybe she was suffering from physical/mental illness. I think Moose gets a "BINGO!" with her comment re: the HIPAA laws. That makes sense to me. The only thing that doesn't make sense to me about this though is you would think a type of medical need alert would have been posted on her missing information. And in this day and age, what would be the big deal if she had a problem such as this? I wouldn't think the family would feel "shame" and would state the facts. Oh crap...WTH knows; I'm rambling....btw, thanks FC and WW for the dick/pantie laugh. Crazy kids...

Sara Sara, I think the "new information on Amherst" refers to the recent discussion we've been having...focusing more on that area.(Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.)

About the other MM and MMM forums, I do agree that naming SBD, CW and others by the full names was wrong to do and wish we could go back in time. Maura, Maura, Maura.... In all fairness, Helena had an open mind on those forums. She wanted each to his own, good food for thought, and accepted most everything over the years. At times she had to pull in the reins though when certain things were posted. She didn't like actual names out there either, now that I think about it, she frowned. Helena if you're reading this Topix, I hope all is well.

I think it is important to figure out her state of mind.

The name Butch Atwood was used over and over and over again and Helena never so much as suggested that this was not the right thing to do. I will watch Bottle Rocket when I have time. It can do no harm and who knows I might l even learn something, ya never know.

Hi Suzanne. Looking forward to Bottle Rocket here too and discussing it with whoever wants to. I appreciate that SBD had his name out there. But it was in the papers and so on. If RF was being f=referred to, Helena would come in and either edit or ask, advise, not to use names that weren't already out there. Just saying.....in fairness to what I recall.

f= How did I do that? I'm tired :) The last people to have seen "Maura" were mentioned in print along with LE. But still, it's all too bad looking back and I do feel it was wrong no matter what. Seemed like a private place to ponder, but anyone could access it until it was taken down. It would just be good to know the truth. I hate puzzles that do not get done.

LOL No I'm a female......there's a history to the name........my first moose sighting that I can ever remember was on 112, and one of my more recent moose sightings was actually following a bull moose along 112 from around the Rifle Club to right before the Weathered Barn where the moose simply took a left up a driveway like he had a preplanned destination in mind. It was beautiful--therefore, I am always "Looking4AMoose".

So if someone's name was in the paper as a witness or they were interviewed by the reporter then that made them fair game to have their names trashed and accused of having something to do with her disappearance? Having your name in the story of a paper as a witness and having your name dragged thru the mud on a public forum are two very different things. Sorry Paris but I will never understand how it was allowed to go on for so long.

There are 2 excellent posts by WTF on the new "move on from Murray" thread. And then there are of course the usual sentiments from the usual people about wanting an unknown person captured, tried and convicted for a heinous crime, a crime with no evidence that it was ever committed.

No, I don't think any of that was ok, being dragged through the mud, etc. I feel bad about the whole thing, angry even. I can see the problem from all sides now.... Each person has valid points, complaints...and some with each other. And no one is really wrong except the ones who did not hesitate to insult or trash someone knowly.

Knowingly put somebody through harms way. Through any pain they knew the other might feel. I recall many times and this included nearly everyone at one point or another. Anything done with malice was wrong, the rest was ignorance and should never be done again now that we know better.
