Hi Dawn ,i asked the same question and again we are back to Mauras ' prior life which was a mess.Amy Markopoulos joined MrMurray for a drink or dinner at the Amherst Brewing Co after a race in R.I.I have never been clear as to if they both dropped mr Murray off at his motel or it was just Maura or why did he expected her later.Nobody from Mauras prior life that actually knew Maura has ever posted anywhere.I have to think they just dont' care or they know something.When will they give that ATM video to mr Murray so he can see who is on it and if the saturn is visible or at least know if Maura was taking cash from the correct ATM.TAKE CARE PHILIP

5 years is a long time.. my past isn't very exciting but I am sure you would all know every detail if roles were reversed.

ITA. And we know who fed us this idealized image. But we still do not know why. They had us jumping thru hoops, throwing wine boxes off our roofs, stuffing white cloths into our exhaust pipes (the cloth had to be white for verisimilitude) and doing many other crazy experiments. We were being played and didn't even suspect it.

As Ben F - google maps can you give you LOTS OF detail.. try it on your address first. I am guilty its easier to ask a local if you want a clear view - and we had extra time hee heeh we could print one out and put it up at our desks/ office/cubes/ etc.

While Chief Hanley's own son was in harm' way fighting in Iraq, he and his police force worked an unprecedented 24/7 searching for another families son who came to harm due to his own and no one else's behaviour.

I really don't think we have to look much further. I don't think there was a local or serial killer who hurt Maura on Rt. 112. I think it was a long-term personal and family issue and I believe LE knew this (as I've said before) within 24 hours of Maura's disappearance. Since I don't think there's a local perp, maybe we should just let Maura be. She's a normal young adult with lots of brains, capabilities, and talent and I believe she escaped an overcontrolled life --- in one way or another.

Philip, people that knew Maura DID post on various parts of MMM forum. I remember several posted on the section called....I don't know, best wishes or prayers or something.....one of her teachers, a couple of friends.....

The bottom line is that we can't judge someone for not posting about their friend who is missing. Because we don't know what it's like. If you were a friend of Maura's, or a family member, would YOU want to wade through all this bullshit (which I'm fairly certain I'm not supposed to say during lent either) to post a message of hope? Or to bother correcting things? Would you be able to stand it?

I hope none of us have to find out. Forgive me for bringing it up, K, but White Wash knows how painful it is to have a missing family member, even for a brief time, and she's made it pretty clear how she feels about the public's discussion of it and how she perceived it. I'm not taking sides in that argument, because I don't even recall it happening--the only thing I know about it is what WW herself has posted in the past year or so--but seriously.

Maybe it's just because they CAN'T. Not because they've been told not to, or because they know something. Or because of some sort of conspiracy of which we as forum members are on the receiving end. Simply because they can't. Or don't want to. That's their choice. That needs to be respected. They don't owe us anything.

After years of thinking (as a consequence of believing the disinformation we were all fed) that Maura was a victim of foul play I too now feel as you do. There are people like Sophiebean who will call this bashing the victim's family, I am not sure why but I think some people just cannot tolerate any disagreement with their own long held (totally unproven) theories.

if she were my child, my daughter, i would never stop searching.

the reported phone call received by Billy is convincing evidence to me that Maura may have been taken and/or held against her will at some point prior to her confirmed disappearance.

that said, there is room for the possibilities of her leaving of her own free will, and/or commiting suicide.

finally, i can appreciate whiston's point of view.

life is short. that much i know.
