Snowy, I wasn't referring to whether it was outside or inside information. I was saying that a friend/acquaintance of White Wash's was in a serious accident over the weekend, and yelling at her was probably not helpful to her state of mind at the moment. That's all.

Even if she doesn't know any of what the family knows, she can probably surmise, from her association with LE--on both a professional and personal basis, as they are her friends and neighbours--that the family knows more than they publicly state.
I've said the same thing numerous times. The family knows more than we, the public, knows. Of course they do. And that's as it should be. Can I state that as a "fact"? Not without contradicting myself, because then I would know what it is that I don't know (if you can follow that). But I CAN state that this is the way investigations work.
Does the family know everything they have a right to know? They don't believe so. Do I believe so? I can't form an opinion (see above about knowing and not-knowing at the same time.)
BTW, did it perhaps escape people's notice that White Wash posted that Haverhill's police chief was in a serious MV accident over the weekend? The man is, at the very least, a work-related colleague in the loosest sense, in that journalists (both written and photo) have contact with the police on a regular basis. She also knows him personally, as she's interviewed him, spoken with him, lives in the same small town as he--and for all I know they're friends and she cares about the man very much on a personal level.
In short, White Wash is having a shitty day and perhaps we could all give her a little bit of breathing room? This may not be the best time to try to discuss things with her.
Okay, I understand. But then why post on the forum today if not in the mood to discuss things today? Unfortunately, I can't read minds.
I sincerely hope the police chief makes a full recovery and I am truly sorry to you White Wash If you don't want to discuss something by all means just say so.

For the record I was not yelling at White Wash, just using the same style of writing that she herself uses.

to my view, there is little purpose in battering one's head against the wall until bloodied. some things just don't change.
resolution will likely present itself in due course.
thanks, again, to Mason for his exceptional work.

You seem to have a gripe with everyone. It does not seem very productive to me.

Also, Does your employer know you spend most of your day at work posting on this forum, probably not?

Just something I noticed, that's all.

I was kinda wondering about the citizen comment also but she might be a citizen living out of the country.
Anyway I agree with you Wowzer as I have on much of what you have said. It is time to enjoy the Whites again after having a few teaser hikes. So, I have my first solo camping trip scheduled for four nights in June. I am so looking forward to getting away in my mountains. And with that I have seen and done enough that I suspect if I write on any of these forums again it will be to probably just reiterate things I may have already said until something new comes up, if that happens.
I find it takes far too much of my time and what I say is mostly ignored or deprecated in any event. Still trying to get an answer to that question…….. oh yeah.“Have we finally decided that the damage to the car was not caused by a trailer hitch”? Does anyone remember who stated that as a possibility? I think I do but don’t want to accuse because I am not sure and don’t care enough to research it to be positive. It is really worth an answer though since so much was made of it at the time. That the truck with the trailer hitch forced the accident to happen. Again, no fault of Maura.
I do still wonder at what point Maura would have to take some responsibility instead of everyone around her? What if she told anyone what she was doing? What if she told anyone where she was going? What is she wasn’t drinking? What is she stayed with the car and waited for police?
I see our favorite hemorrhoid has tossed another grenade over the wall on the findMauraMurray forum. Hoping, I guess to stir interest. Good for her. I’m not biting though. She’ll kick the hornets nest and then sit back for a month or two and watch. I suspect with a smile on her face at all she has accomplished.
My wish to all is long life, health and happiness.
And with that, Empire has left the building for a well deserved rest.
See you in the mountains Wowzer and all else that dare venture.
Bill
What a loss to this forum with Bill leaving.
He was the very voice of reason, one of a very few that gave actual helpful info and was fair to everyone. I do understand the ignored and deprecated words though and have experienced the feeling of wasting ones time by even replying.
Ahh yes the MM forum mascot, a true hemorrhoid in every sense of the word. Tosser of grenades and placer of Blivits. Both full to the tippy top with BS and hatred.
I hope you have a great summer Bill. On your hiking travels if you see a smiling woman with a fishing pole in hand with an also happy dog walking beside her it will most likely be me so please stop and say hello. I'm not afraid of the boogy man so I'll not run away if I see you coming. I'll miss reading your sensible and humerous posts here. Oh wait!!!!! I won't be here either.

Very funny post. I am trying to remember the last time I saw the word Blivit used in a sentence. LMAO.

And I sure will. And if any of you see an old man with a pack that looks too big, probably sweating profusely and wearing a khaki Tilley wide brimmed hat and carrying his walking/tracking stick, it’s probably me. Say hello. It is unlikely I will start whacking you with my walking stick to keep you away from me since I am too old and lazy to run from anyone at this point. It is unlikely that we would see each other because I am often bushwhacking and nowhere near a marked trail. In those rare times I do see others they are almost to a person, very friendly. That is the norm in the mountains.

I will still be around but I’m going to actively try to reduce the number of times that I post, significantly. It shouldn’t be that hard since nothing new has really happened in over 4 years but it is almost become like a habit searching for her information. And I am certain that my reduction in the number of posts will be a delight to others that have specific agendas rather than those trying to follow the facts, hemorrhoids included. 8-)

Everyone else enjoy their summer also.

It was not my intention to post digs in any sense of the word, I was not questioning your grammer, and if my question was small stuff, it is certainly your choice to get hung up on it.

OMG! I can hardly believe it! Hey Peri I too have super powers.
Just look way back on June 15 post 1001. I had a dream that this would turn into a mirror image of the old MM forum and low and behold I was RIGHT!!
And the attack ducks are still here in standby mode waiting for the signal to bite the hands that try to help them.

I am from the Maura Murray Forum. On June 3rd, I tried to Post and my membership was seemingly deleted. I talked on the telephone
with another member who was also seemingly deleted. A few days later my lap top went into a coma mode. There were many incoming telephone
calls apprising me of the closing down of the Forum. Just last night, did my computer and I come back to the reality of a the Forum closure.
Hey MN lady...whatever you are calling yourself lately...here and "out there"...Nice to hear your voice. You know that I miss Beth too...Talk soon....Our Silkyboxer/Beth was one of the first members, and a major fearless contributor to
find the truth and justice. Sorry for the interruption folks....pretend this was a PM...I was never here....Attack ducks on Stand-by.
Maura Murray vanished 2/9/2004 after 7PM near the Swiftwater Covered Bridge on Tourist's National Registry on Route 112
Haverhill/Woodsville/Bath NH. We have not and will not forget that Maura Murray was alive before Swiftwater. Local Town and State Law Enforcement didn't do their duty in a timely fashion. I feel that if the MM Forum had not been so active, that it is possible that Maura's fate information would have just disappeared, as do some crimes. Out of sight, out of mind....blame the victim....As Beth said "can't see it from my front porch"..
I have had the same thoughts, theories and feelings since my beginnings of knowledge of Maura's disappearance.
As time went by, especially after the first MM Forum, there seemed to a silent syllabus of sorts to which we were not privy and that we
evidently were not following. Our thoughts, feelings, theories, questions were sometimes ignored. I can truly imagine and understand that our rhetoric was becoming tiresome to the moderators. Perhaps now is the time for all good people to come to the aid of ....
Perhaps with Topix, a combination of new and previous Posters will unlock some information about Maura's disappearance.
Because I was not able to Post in the last days of the Maura Forum, I choose now to say ..What a wonderful group of caring souls!
All members really had such good intentions in trying to help solve this crime and keep the news of injustice alive. Standing ovations!!

I hope this forum is not going to turn into a mirror image of the MMM forum now that it has been taken down.
Hopefully this forum will stay open minded with people feeling free to speak their opinions and give new ideas without fear of being called names.

appreciation is extended to Wowzer for her sharp mind, compassionate heart, fair-mindedness and exceptionally quick wit.
endlessly challenged by those who oppose her healthy, balanced view of life in northern NH, she unfailingly brings substance and honesty to the conversation.

the dynamic equilibrium is represented by WTF/Bill on the other side...carrying all reasonable and practical aspects of this secondary investigation.
put either or both on a jury...and expect a fair outcome.

suzanne...authentic, decent, and a major contributor. always an impressive presence.

none of them can be fooled. not for a minute.
enjoy a well-deserved break...or an extended one. i doubt much will change in the interim.

Thank you for the kind words Snowy. They are much appreciated. I haven't seen Suzanne post at all today so I can only assume that she has been banned after Peri reported her to Topix. So sad as she did nothing wrong that I could see. Hope Peri is proud of herself.
Your presence here has also been impressive and I can only hope that someone on this forum has learned something meaningful from your words.

As this is my last post I wish I could say it's been fun but it hasn't.
To Shack.... I truly hope someday that you will see the harm you have done not only to the MM forums but also to the people of my area with your open disdain and disgust toward them and the cruel names you called the locals. I hope you will feel shame someday for what you've done (but I doubt it).
Peri what you did today to Suzanne and Whitewash is dispicible. There were many times when YOU could have been reported for accusing people by name of lying or doing a criminal acts but you weren't.
I hope there are still a few here that will keep an open mind and post with fairness and kindness.
Don't let anyone convince you that you are not taking the right road if you happen to have a new fresh idea. Don't stay focused on just one small area, focus on all areas that Maura lived and traveled. Firecat what can I say~~~
The wicked witch of the White Mountains has turned into a princess at the stroke of midnight and will live forevermore in the peace and tranquility of the woods and mountains. There will no longer be any thoughts of missing people, murders, serial killers etc etc.
As I take this forum off my Favorites list I wish you all a good night.
