Whiston, if I'm following you correctly, Fred has dismissed the possibility that:

- the Saturn was stolen from Amherst

- the Saturn was carjacked enroute to NH, Maura taken elsewhere by a second perp, and the Saturn dumped (without Maura) at that particular spot near the weathered barn?

- a friend of hers borrowed the car?

Does this mean Maura probably told him about her leaving? And where she was going?

Speculation: Maybe after disappointing Fred and then crashing his new car, he and Maura had a verbal disagreement in the motel and he told her she really was useless and should "take the 'old squaw' walk". And she said, "Fine, I'll go do it in NH! So that's why it popped into Fred's head during the crisis of Maura going missing?

Or, for Fred Murray to be SO sure Maura was at that spot, was he THERE with her, assisting her, travelling with her, to get away from a bigger-than-usual problem? Did she run away from him after the accident? Does Fred smoke cigarettes?

Fred was so sure it was Maura in Woodsville that (if this is the true scenario) the next day, after finding out about the Saturn, he raced north, but didn't take a half hour to get off the highway run to check her dorm room, etc.?

Were there a zillion outgoing cellphone messages on Fred's phone starting after he got home from work Tuesday and talked to NH LE? As he tried to reach Maura? Or did he already know that by Tuesday, Feb. 10th, late afternoon, Maura wasn't alive with cellphone?

I need to reread a post by Elsewhere Briefly on the other site, but if Peabody said Fred worked 8AM-5PM on Tuesday, 2/10, did he work Monday?

The central office in Haverhill would have all the outgoing calls to his phone - even if his phone was turned off. The police would have records of the calls on their end. If his phone was on - it would also show once the call was forwarded to VM.

The police dept probably use a PRI/ISDN line which the calls also would have been store in customer owned premise equipment (cpe). If they say they left messages - even if the didn't check his phone or his phone was off - the telco would have all of this info. It is black and white - it is there or it isn't. I just don't think they are going to share that with us.......

actually I am confident that haverhill is on copper - this was not a lit/fiber in 04 and even today. all calls can be traced - they went through the CO - central office. Of course LE knows this as well.

should read - of course on copper - all cities are on copper - some such as Boston for example are on fiber and use cloud technology. This is not offered in haverhill.. ok. have a good weekend. I wish I had those phone records.

LE means Law Enforcement.
I would like to believe Maura is alive in Canada, but I'm pretty sure that was just a mean rumor.

You won't see input on the other site from some of regular posters tho. It will help you get caught up to speed. To find info from Beagle, Snowy, Suzanne,Wowzer and lets see... I think that is all - they only post on this site.

“If he can provide us with work attendance records that prove he was in Bridgeport, CT working on 2/9 and 2/10, I will reconsider my opinion. I doubt he can do that and I think HPD and the NHSP have known that since a few days after Maura disappeared.

I think the PIs have been played for fools and the previous accident theory within a few miles of the accident site is 100% bullshit.

I think we've been lied to and played for fools and I do not appreciate it.”

“First of all, you are correct to characterize it as a theory. I do not claim credit for it because it's a group mind production. I certainly deserve some credit for it, maybe a lot because I've put a lot of thought into it. I don't want to offend anyone by claiming the whole thing as my own and others are welcome to claim credit if they so desire. I'm sure some people will be offended because it is so unthinkable and it's only a matter of time before a counterattack is launched. Nevertheless, it's an opinion that Fred Murray can destroy without engaging us in debate. If he was working in Bridgeport, CT on February 9th and 10th, depending on the hours that he worked, he could not have been in New Hampshire.

My answer to your question is that it was all an act designed to convince people that he had nothing to do with her disappearance. He did not have to act to express anguish because that was a true emotion that he felt.

That is all that I'm prepared to say at this time. Anything else would not be appropriate on this forum at least until we know if he has an alibi.”

Yes, reclassifying a missing person investigation as a criminal investigation does make it more difficult, but Fred Murray wasn't getting anything anyway and the stuff he eventually received was basically useless.

He wanted all of the detailed investigation reports, witness statements, and lab reports. He received redacted 911 logs, Sgt. Smith's summary sheet of what he saw at scene of the accident, and various items of evidence. All of this information is more confusing than helpful and reveals next to nothing about the investigation.

I believe you know this Philip, but it bears repeating for everyone else who reads this message. The police have a reason why they shut Fred Murray completely out of the loop in their investigation of Maura's disappearance. That did not happen by chance and I doubt that it was motivated by personal dislike.

I interpret their decision as having been based on a general suspicion that started with his failure to contact HPD for almost 24-hours and quickly ripened into a highly focused suspicion that he was involved in her disappearance as his statements to them and his public statements led them to conclude he was playing them in much the same way that I believe we have been played. They shut him out because he was and remains a suspect.”

His public statements that his squaw walk remark was taken out of context, that the police didn't try to contact him for 24 hours, and Sgt Smith would have found Maura if he had bothered to walk a few hundred feet up the road E/B from the scene of the accident. I believe he knew these statement were false when he made them and they obviously knew that.

But they didn't know why he lied and that has been the proverbial stumbling block in completing their investigation along with Maura's missing body, of course.

The recent flurry of messages that Maura is alive and living in Quebec Province could be true, but I doubt it even though I want to believe it. If those messages were false and Fred Murray was responsible or encouraged others to post them, he may have stuck his neck in a noose.”

My questions:

**Is Mason's jurisdiction to report/enforce information gleaned from the internet limited in any way by his current standing with the bar according to the state in which he currently practices and/or holds a license to practice law?

**Should Mason's quoted declarations (see above posts 18840 & 18841) about Fred Murray's possible involvement in the disappearance of his daughter also be reportable to authorities as discovery from these forums? or are they exempt from reporting by "an officer of the court" for some reason?

**Is Mason also treading on a 'minefield'?
