Either he was/wasn't or is/isn't a certain lawyer as he claimed to be. Dawn was caught in the middle of this...to the extent that she was attempting to verify his claim. And, now, we find Suzanne had this info. all along? I feel foolish for trying, as well. Perhaps there's been some miscommunication. Oh, well. Suzanne and I have never spoken privately. It is not information that can confirm or deny Mason's identity. You have misunderstood what I've said. I found a news item about Fred Leatherman whilst googling "Fred Leatherman" and "Innocence Project." Suzanne, by what her post read last night, seems to also have found it. Her post was the first I knew she had also read it. That is ALL I have found. For the record, I HAVE spoken privately to Dawn, mostly along the lines of "does it really matter whether or not Mason is Fred Leatherman?"

Dawn wrote: You can find all the info regarding the above in posts. its over and it has NOTHING to do with finding Maura. A person gave me their real name offered to send a resume - gave me spefic cases that are from my small home town. I would take action if it was my family and the remarks about abuse were posted. Yes I would. As everyone says here - I am entitled to my opinion. Has anyone heard more about the BOL? I haven't heard anything further about it, other than what Columbo posted on MM last night.

I regret posting it. It in no way relates to Maura. It only helps to explain why Mason might prefer a modicum of privacy regarding his personal life. Also I hate it when everyone gangs up on one person and I tend to defend that person no matter what.

I believe he may have appeared cryptic about certain aspects of his resume for personal reasons. I think everyone here has some personal stuff he/she would prefer to not discuss.

I'll await his answer to my question...posed at least twice...with an explanation for his intensely detesting Fred Murray, and casting some potentially unfounded possibilities about his parenting and relationship with his daughter. I have no more to add about Mason/aka Fred Leatherman.

There is so little knowledge in the world compared with what there is to know. Always I was deeply affected by the trust patients, rich or poor, male or female, old or young, placed in their nurses. When we appeared they seemed to say,“Ah, here is someone who can tell us.” Mothers asked me pathetically, plaintively, hopefully,“Miss Higgins, what should I do not to have another baby right away?” I was at a loss to answer their intimate questions, and passed them along to the doctor, who more often than not snorted,“She ought to ashamed of herself to talk to a young girl about things like that.” All such problems were thus summarily shoved aside. We had one woman in our hospital who had several miscarriages and six babies, each by a different father. Doctors and nurses knew every time she went out that she would soon be back again, but it was not their business or anybody’s business; it was just “natural.” To be polished off neatly, the nurses in training were assigned to one of the larger city hospitals in which to work during the last three or six months of our course. Mine was at Manhattan Eye and Ear [now Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital] at Forty-first Street and Park Avenue, across the street from the Murray Hill Hotel, and I welcomed the chance to see up-to-date equipment and clockwork discipline. My new environment was considerably less harsh and intense, more comfortable and leisurely. At one of the frequent informal dances held there my doctor partner received a message – not a call, but a caller. His architect wanted to go over blueprints with him.“Come along,” he invited.“See whether you think my new house is going to be as fine as I do.” The architect was introduced.“This is William Sanger.” Sanford White once told me he was one of the six best draftsmen in New York. "To see a baby born is one of the greatest experiences that a human being can have. Birth to me has always been more awe-inspiring than death. As often as I have witnessed the miracle, held the perfect creature with its ting hands and tiny feet, each time I have felt as though I were entering a cathedral with prayer in my heart. There is so little knowledge in the world compared with what there is to know." Margaret Sanger

On the day of the 5th Anniversary of Maura's disappearance, family and friends gathered near 112 for commiseration. I overheard one sentence,(referring to Topix or Forum)"it has become an entertainment for some". Perhaps I will get blasted. I don't care. I didn't say it....and, I didn't like hearing it. Certainly it was said in frustration. BUT..here we are still...waiting for something or someone to help find Maura.

Beagle I wonder where you get all of this info. Did you check out the Newsweek? The article - focused on the black market as well. Basically - if you have the money - you can get an organ. Again - I don't think this happened to Maura or Molly Bish. However, for those that followed the links as I know Snowy did - it is pretty bizarre - and true. People waking up with a kidney gone. That is the most common organ.

And I don't think the people who criticized you over the past few days realized you are one of the few people who meets and speaks to Maura's family year after year.
