Unfortunately, this kidney stuff, in the world of medicine, is all old news. It was totally fresh news to me not too, too long ago and I, like most people now, was totally shocked. I didn't ever think about anything like this, let alone think there would be a black market for it.

One poster in the past few weeks said that the Bish and Murray cases were totally different, at least in part because Bish was a child and Murray was an adult. But from a biologist's point of view, this is not totally true.

I know how bizarre it sounds, but today, to some people, a bodily organ is kind of like interior jewelry. It's something to steal. They used to steal rings, watches, and necklaces. Now it's organs.

I agree it takes someone with some specialized knowledge, but if eyeballs, kidneys, bones, and plenty more are stolen, and stolen frequently, why not a few hundred or a few thousand eggs at one time? It's by far the most lucrative organ in a woman's body. Sorry if this idea nauseates anyone, I don't blame them, but it's a fact that needs to be honestly addressed.

Today, bodily organs are commodoties. They are bought and sold as such - some legally, some not.

Believe it or not, you get all this info by old fashioned reading. Like newspapers. Like the science sections of newspapers. Major papers, not local ones. Book reviews. Weekly news magazines. Ordinary stuff. Plus, mainstream online outlets like MSNBC and CNN. It's all there all the time along with the sports news, financial news, and everything else. Can't miss it.

Entertainment is a cruel pejorative for a group of people who have gathered together to discuss a common interest ie where is Maura. So sorry, Shack, if their is 'collateral entertainment' in the form of camaraderie, disputes, a few laughs, friendships and some outright brawls. Don't yell at shack. She's just the messenger. She did not say this. And I don't think the speaker was referring to the camaraderie, the laughs, the friendships, or even some of the healthy disputes.

Hey Firecat, I've taken my glasses off, washed and dried them, put them back on and I still can't see any capital letters in Suzanne's post which would be be actual yelling in cyber language. Cripes she doesn't even let loose with a PFFFFFFTTTTTTT!!!!!

I didn't yell at Shack (or anyone else.) You'll know it when I yell. But I don't think she would have gone thru the trouble of reporting this back to us if she didn't agree with it. So far I am hearing the 2 pro bono PIs being criticized and the forums ditto and we sure as hell aren't getting paid for the work we are doing here. And some of the people on these forums have really put out with their time, energy,effort.

We all know who said people were stating it was entertaining. PFFFTT!

Wowzer if you are honest as you appear you always post in defense of somone or something, I believe firecat does the same. Firecat certainly speaks many points I would make and I am thankful for that.

I wasn't defending anyone really. I think Suzanne can very well hold her own here but....
I will stand behind who or what I think is right and speak up to someone that is outright lying. That's just me.
Also I was curious why she answers for everyone. It's been mentioned more than once and not just by me. Just wondering.
In this case I wondered if Firecat was seeing something I wasn't because I saw no yelling.

Let's stop this Jesuitical splitting of hairs. Someone close to Maura's family according to Shack criticized the forum. I saw in print on Feb 5 2009 an interview in which Fred criticized the two PIs. I would think a simple thank you would do as in thank you for the donation of your time, energy, effort and in some cases hard earned money, thank you for helping us find out what happened to our Maura. The PIs and the forums are all working pro bono. We don't have to be doing this. And why doesn't the family contribute to this forum or to Advocators forum, they know so much more than we do. So now we know they read us but allow us to flounder when they could help us help them. Ray Gricar, District Attorney of Centre County PA disappeared in one of the most fascinating missing persons cases of this decade. His forum was looney toons with all sorts of half baked half truths and wild conspiracy theories plus terrible bashing of his grieving fiance. Then his nephew joined the forum and smacked people upside the head and set the record straight on so many different things revealing facts that only a family member would know. I wish something like this would happen here.

When I said I would speak up if someone was outright lying I wasn't talking about Firecat but about anyone.... neighbor, family member, friend and yes someone on the computer.Jeesh!

I believe it was a poster who stated that others in the area of the accident would not join as it was entertaining just following the forum. That is what I meant in my above post.
